Our team has lots of frugal savings tips up our sleeves, and one that we always recommend is the Walmart+ membership. With FREE delivery from the store ($35 order min. Restrictions apply) and more benefits we just can’t live without, a Walmart+ membership has truly been a total game-changer for many members of the Hip team.

Read on for more reasons we can’t get enough of our Walmart+ memberships!

I have personally had my Walmart+ membership for years, and I can honestly say the benefits are a lifesaver. The free delivery benefit is something I’ve already relied on heavily, but as a newly expectant mom, I’m using it more and more. ($35 order min. Restrictions apply.) If I’m not feeling up to going out, or I’m having a last-minute craving, I can place a delivery order, and it shows up right at my doorstep.

And once the baby is here, I know the benefits will be used even more. Not having to bundle up my little one and go to the store every time I realize I’m out of diapers or formula, or I need ingredients for dinner, is going to save my sanity and save me time.

Walmart+ membership benefits go past just the store…

One of the other Walmart+ membership benefits we love is that you get to pick a video streaming service of your choice! Choose between Peacock or Paramount+ at no additional cost, and watch what you want! Best of all, you can change it up every 90 days if you want.

So choose one and binge all your favorite shows, and after 90 days, swap to the other option and watch something fresh. One service (w/ ads) every 90 days: Peacock Premium or Paramount+ Essential. Add’l registration req’d. T&Cs apply.

I have had a Walmart+ membership for years and used the benefits frequently. But when the delivery zone in my area was recently expanded, I was even more excited. Are your groceries always delivered in their reusable bags or are those purchased separately and they put your groceries in them? Thanks

    • Emily S (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Gina! I live in New York state so typically my orders are delivered in paper bags (plastic grocery bags were banned several years ago here). However, if I add reusable bags for purchase to my order, they will be delivered in those bags instead.

If you do an order pickup instead of delivery and bring your own bags in your vehicle, they’ll package your order in your bags instead of having to repurchase them. I hope that helps!

    FREE PHARMACY DELIVERY!
My mom is in a retirement home and we added her as a family member and now can have all her prescriptions delivered.
Plus when someone is sick, not having to go to the store to have a prescription filled is great.
The other benefits mentioned, plus pharmacy delivery, make this a deal we can’t pass up.

I live on the 3rd floor of an apartment building. With Walmart+, will the driver carry the groceries up to the 3rd floor or do I need Home Delivery for this?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Great question! With Walmart+, standard grocery delivery typically brings your items to your doorstep. However, delivery drivers are generally not required to carry groceries up multiple flights of stairs. Many drivers may decline such requests due to the physical strain involved.

If you’re on the third floor, it may be best to meet the driver at the building entrance or parking area to assist with carrying the groceries. This approach ensures a smoother delivery experience. You could reach out to your store specifically to see how they might manage your order since this could vary. Hoping that helps! ❤️❤️

Hi, I’m wondering about the tip situation. I know the delivery is free but aren’t we encourage to tip as well. How do you determine how much?? Thanks for your input:)

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Great question, Jean! You have the option to tip at checkout. It will suggest a few different ranges 10% etc. It is up to you how much. I generally tip based on the size of my order and sometimes even take into account the weather or if we’re near a holiday as well. I usually find that the cash I may have earned from a previous purchase, helps offset the tip I’d like to give. Hoping this is helpful! 🤗❤️

    • Sara J

I have found that if you do not add a decent tip to the initial order, it is harder to find a delivery driver who will commit to take your order. I usually tip 10-15%, depending on the weight and number if items in my order.

I would love to see what others tip.

Excited for you mom to be 💕 I just had my first baby a month ago

    • Emily S (Hip Sidekick)

Thank you, Kim! And sending a big congratulations to you on becoming a new mom and bringing home your new bundle of joy 💗

Congratulations! I am a Walmart+ member since the program started. For the first year or two the service was great. Our Walmarts are small and have only a few grocery aisles and no fresh products, produce, bakery, etc. Almost everything we want to order is required to have a $35. minimum. Plus if you order something to be shipped, it is sent to the store and the store delivers it. They are extremely unreliable and most times things are only delivered in the evening when the stores are slower. There is no option to tip so no one wants to do it. We are in a building that is easy to find and invariably we get 3-4 calls telling us they can’t find us. We are only 7 miles from the store and the only apartment building in the area. I am not going to renew and keep using Amazon when I can.
