Here’s what reviewers are saying…
This item is SO BEAUTIFUL in the kitchenette of our home business. It is everything I had hoped, I am in LOVE!! So happy to have Sonic ice back in our home! We had an early model of the Opal for several years until it died, and we don’t regret a minute of it!
We really love this ice maker! From our research, we decided to only use distilled water, and it’s made a huge difference, cleaning is needed far less often. The only minor issue we’ve noticed is that the light shows about a quarter yellow, which usually indicates it needs cleaning. I reached out to GE, and they let me know this is a common issue they’ve recently discovered and are working on a fix. Fortunately, it doesn’t affect how the ice maker runs or the quality of the ice. It also comes with a one-year manufacturer’s warranty, so I feel confident that if any problems do come up, it can be fixed or replaced without worry.

I was really excited about this ice maker and ended up returning it. It would dribble water over the already made ice making the back half of it become a pile of slush. It does make a good bit of noise as it constantly seems to be kicking on and off…probably due to the ice melting from the water and needing to make more. Would 100% rather use ice trays than this. Points for pretty though.
Appreciate you taking the time to leave such honest feedback on your experience, Amy. 💕 Bummer about the water and noise troubles. Hoping others who grab it will have a smoother experience. 🤞 It really is such a pretty ice maker!
