Eggs Are Expensive! Eat a Cup of Noodles for Breakfast Instead (Erica Did & Shares Her Reaction on Video!)
Breakfast meats like bacon and sausage are pricey. Even cereal can be expensive, and you’re still going to need to buy milk to go along with it. And don’t even get us started on the price of eggs! With inflation out of control and the cost of breakfast foods steadily rising, frugal folks everywhere are considering more affordable alternatives for their morning meal.
If you’re among those trying to figure out a way to break your fast without breaking the bank, Nissin would like you to consider its new budget-friendly Limited Edition Cup Noodles Breakfast. Ask any college student and they’ll tell you that there’s no cheaper and more convenient meal than Cup Noodles. But many traditional breakfast lovers may not be ready for ramen first thing in the morning.
Watch Erica’s taste test, it may surprise ya! 😆
If you don’t like the idea of chicken, beef, or shrimp ramen for breakfast, then Nissin’s new Cup Noodles Breakfast was made for you! It features only the breakfast flavors of sausage, maple syrup pancakes, and eggs. Like other Cup Noodles, the breakfast version comes to life with just water and four minutes in the microwave. That’s plenty of time to rethink your life choices and pop some bread in the toaster. 😉
After four minutes, if you’re still committed to the idea of a greasy diner breakfast in the form of soup, you’ll find a cup full of saucy ramen with “visible ingredients” including sausage and eggs. If you feel that your breakfast ramen needs more flavors, Nissin encourages you to customize your Cup Noodles Breakfast with hot sauce, more syrup, or even rice.
In an interview with CNN, Neil Saunders, an analyst at GlobalData Retail said, “The wacky mix of ingredients is on brand for Cup Noodle, which often fuses traditional noodles with local flavors that it thinks will be appealing to consumers.” Although American eaters may be “turned off” by traditional ramen flavors for breakfast, they may “be more interested in sweet flavors they associate with traditional breakfasts.”
Nissin is boldly releasing this product in the week leading up to April Fool’s Day, but it looks like Cup Noodles Breakfast is the real deal. According to a press release, this product is set to appear in Walmart stores beginning March 29, priced at just $1.18 a cup.
All joking aside – we’re not here to yuck anybody’s yums. If you try Breakfast Cup Noodles, we’d love to know what you think! It would be great to have a new breakfast option that’s both easy and affordable, so hopefully, those flavors will all work together in a soup better than predicted.
I’ve been wrong before, and for just a buck, I may throw caution to the wind and give it a try!
This has to be an early April fools! 😩🤣
LOL! 😆 That would be a good one – but it does seem that this is a real product! ❤️
There is nothing about this on the Nissin web site….
So sorry for any confusion, Bob! According to a press release, this product is set to appear in Walmart stores beginning today, March 29th. Hoping there might be more information available on it soon once it hits shelves! 🤞
Gross
Just eat a 🥯 bagel
Ramen noodles (drained) stir-fried with some scrambled eggs, onion, and sliced meat (bacon, steak, etc) make a really delicious and affordable meal. That will really stretch the impact of the eggs.
That does sound like a meal similar to a stir-fry option, molly. Thanks for sharing this fun way to make a meal with ramen noodles. 💞
$1.18 each, that’s the price of 3-5 eggs, because prices have come down. And eggs are much more healthy.
I believe this is a traditional breakfast in Asia. Maybe Nissin is trying to introduce the concept here.
April fools
I seriously love this post reaction. Thanks for sharing hip2save. I may pick up on the next grocery trip, although some days it’s a super healthy breakfast then the next pancakes with my kids. So I see this as an experiment.
You’re SO welcome! Hoping you like it too! I’m adding it to my grocery list as well! 💕😆
I love her reaction-she really expected it to be awful but was willing to try it anyway lol
LOL! I know! 😆 I really want to try it now after seeing what Erica thought of it! Hope you might enjoy it too if you decide to give it a try! 🤗💕
These were reduced to 25 cents at our Walmart, grabbed 4 at that price for curiousity, my teen and 9 year old who love ramen hated them, my and hisband didnt mind, taste is different but not bad, hard to describe, but worth trying
Oh wow! GREAT price, Beth! We’ll have to keep a lookout for a price drop in our stores too! My son does love Ramen too and I’m super curious if he’ll like this. Thanks for letting us know what your family thought of it. 🙌💕
Eggs are 2.49 where I live, they where 4.99 a few months ago though. I do know people who put an egg in their ramen though for protein.
