  1. Amy

I don’t get it………….”buy 3 participating products=$3 register reward”, so why would you get $10 RR for buying 3 products??? Am I missing something here?

  2. Imen

I think it means, buy 3 participating products get a $10 RR. She probably made a little messup, come on, it’s normal. 🙂

  3. Bonnie

    Sweet! Thanks Collin! 🙂

  4. Melissa Roland

So do i just go to the counter and get these items free or do I have to pay for them then the next time I go shopping I can get something……….I get really confused with these types of things…….Please HELP!!!!!!!

    • fran

Melissa, you have to pay for them now, then you can use the RR on your next transaction, just as long as you don’t purchase the same items, because you won’t get RRs on your second transaction. I hope that makes sense.

    • Kerry

You will pay 8.97 and a $10 RR will print out. You can use this RR to go towards your next purchase. So it’s like getting the soap for free plus a little overage. Hope this helps. Walgreens can be confusing at first, but you will get it! 🙂

    • Lauren

You pay for the soap now ($8.97) and the little magic coupon machine will print you a “Register Reward” for $10 on your NEXT Walgreens purchase 🙂

    • Elaine

You have to purchase them first and will get a $10 RR (register reward) that you can use on your next purchase at Walgreens. It will expire in a couple of weeks. Don’t use it on more of the same product or new register rewards won’t print. Once you get the hang of Walgreens, you will be able to save a lot!

  5. Janet

Imen: Amy was just asking for clarification. I was about to do exactly the same. Are we not allowed to ask when something sounds unusual? She said nothing mean. Relax. It’s nice you like to defend people, but in this case, it was not necessary with the “come on”.

    • Imen

Sorry. 🙁 today’s just been a really stressful day for me.
      Sorry Amy!

      • Janet

Thanks for apologizing Imen. I hope your day gets better.

        • Imen

          Thanks 🙂
What makes it worse THERE WE’RE NO SAMPLES TODAY. D:
          xD

    • Amy

Thanks, Janet for coming to my defense! I honestly did not mean any harm or negativity whatsoever!!! Unfortunately the written word can be taken the wrong way sometimes……..I love Collin for all she has done for me and my family and would NEVER cut her down.

      • Janet

Yes, Collin is the best. ; ) Thanks Collin!

  6. Michelle Rulmont

also in the safeway coupon books (May 2010) a $1.50 off any Neutrogena product -exp 6/30. Use 3 to turn it into a $5 moneymaker!

    • Stephanie Werner

      OOH, thanks Michelle!!

    • bonnie

      what booket?

      • bonnie

lol you know what I mean 😛

    • CASSANDRA

AWESOME! Thank you so much!!! 😀

      • CASSANDRA

That same booklet also has the $2 off Ecotrin (makes it free + $2RR at Wags too)

    • jen

Used both today with no problems 🙂 I’m loving Safeway’s coupon books.. I have gotten some great deals using the coupons in them.

      • mary

will there be a june book?if so when will it be available?thanks

    • mary

thank you so much for this info.I went to safeway today and was able to get 3 coupon books. I went to walgeens and was able to get 3 bars and make 5.00!!Also in the safeway book there is a 2.00 off coopertone.use this at riteaid with the 3.00 in ad coupon on coopertone. use for scr rebate. good day thanks again!!!

  7. Wednesday

You can use a Safeway coupon at Wags??

    • Diane

Wednesday – The coupon in the Safeway book is a manufacturer coupon – so yes, you can use at Wags.

      Thanks Michelle!

    • amy

      Wedneday,
where do you get a safeway booklet? is safeway a store? i have never seen a safeway in michigan. anyone have any suggestions? if they are free like the walgreens booklet?

      • amy

sorry, that should have been in regards to diane

  8. sharon

Newbie with Walgreen’s RR — if I have a RR from a different promotion (say last week’s contact solution for example) and use it to buy the Neutrogena soap will I still get the Neutrogena $10 RR or am I disqualified?

    • fran

Yes, you will get the RR. The only time you won’t get RRs is if you purchase the same thing or something else produced by the same company that your RR came from.

      • sharon

Thanks Fran and Missy- I have the $8.00 RR from last week to use and with money being a bit tighter right now didn’t want to lose out on the $10 RR this week! This is all still a bit confusing for me….but I’m getting the hang of it thanks to find friends like you guys!!!

    • Missy

You should still get it. The only thing with using a register reward on the same deal (buy 3 neutrogena bars, get $10 RR and use that to buy 3 more bars) is you won’t get the register reward again.

    • Tiphanie

I have the 8 RR from last week too and am gonna do this deal. Thanks Collin. So i’ll pay .97 plus tax and get $10 RR for the next week sounds great. I’ll also do the Kotex U this week.

  9. Collin

Sorry, guys! That was a typo… I have since fixed it.

I hope you all are enjoying your Memorial day weekend! 🙂

  10. Amy

How do I get a Safeway coupon book? If that is a store, we don’t have one around here…do you get it from a store? In an insert? Can I request one? 🙂

    • Stephanie

Yes, the Safeway coupon book is only in stores. 🙁

  11. Heather W

This is OT, but I saw on another site that when you buy the U by Kotex pads (not tampons) you will get a cat for free Always pads! I am sure this is YMMV, but I’m going to try today!

Thanks Collin! Hope you have a great Memorial Day, and tell your hubby thanks for all he does!

    • fran

Heather, I don’t want a “cat”, or a dog, for that matter 🙂

      • Heather W

        lol

    • Rhonda

That was my experience all last month. If I bought the Kotex U pads, then I received a catalina coupon for free Always pads. If I bought thte Kotex U liners, then I received a cataline for free Always liners. The shelter was happy:-)

      • Laurie

does anyone know if you can use a catalina FREE coupon like this on a deal generating a RR? Or will it not work like a regular manufacturer coupon? It does not expire until July so I was thinking of holding on to it to combine with a potential upcoming RR deal (if there even is an Always deal). But, if the machine won’t generate a RR b/c of using a free item coupon, I will use it up now. thanks guys!

        • Heather W

Yes if there were a register reward for Always you could use the free Always cat and still get the RR.

  12. Stephanie

Even though this is a June RR deal, does it start today?

    • fran

      Yes, it does.

  13. Melissa Roland

Thanks everybody who made that clear for me………but I am also with Amy on how do you get a Safeway coupon book?

  14. SIMPY86

I have to say I love you guys for clarifying some stuff for us newbies….ya’ll cover all the basis of questions I have before I even ask them….I have just turned my sister and daughter on to this site..My daughter just turned 23 with a 3 yr old little boy who is just graduating from college…so she can use all the discounts she can get …I so appreciate all the time and effort that goes into keeping this site updated…GOD BLESS

  15. EMILY

WHAT’S EVEN SWEETER IS THAT THESE CAN BE USED AS FILLERS SINCE YOU’RE NOT USING QS ON THEM.

    • Tiffany

      I didn’t think about that! Thanks 🙂

  16. Doreen

Soap was only $2.69 at my walgreens in Tuscaloosa AL and it did print out a coupon for a free Always product.

    • Sharon Wilson

$2.69 at mine in Louisville as well…for certain types.

  17. Kris H

ok, I have a question for all of you helpful couponers. I have a hard time spending $10 in RR. Because usually there are only a few things per week that i can get good deals on so that is all i do for example this week, i might spend $4 for the Off clips ons and $2 in chex mix, but them what would you normally buy there to get to the $10 to be able to use the RR. $4 worth of Milk??? or are you doing a whole lot more deals than i am?? I hope my question makes sense. I just usually don’t spend $10 at Walgreens ever.

    • jaime

Man, You dont spend $10??? I dont ever spend less than ten dollars! EVER!!! lol
You could buy stuff you normally wouldnt spend money on. Like some makeup or something. Or buy stuff like tp, or stuff youve always wanted to try but wouldnt spend money on.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You are not allowed to buy milk with RR What I do if there isn’t many RR that week and I have RR that are about to expire I’ll buy clearance stuff, things that have mail in rebates or stuff I have to buy anyways like toilet paper, diapers or paper towels. I hope this helps.

      • Lisa

My Walgreens allow the purchase of milk with the RR’s. I’ve done it at least 3 times, at a couple different stores, when I needed to use up my RR’s.

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

well my RR clearly states that it excludes dairy products maybe it’s only on the P&G RR I’m not sure but I have never been able to get away with using RR on milk. Lucky you!!!!!

          • Mary

If you ever **don’t** get your RR and the management isn’t helpful, you can call the Catalina company directly once you get home and they will research it for you and tell you why.

There can be many reasons – the printer may be out of paper, etc., not hooked up correctly, etc.

DO NOT fall for the “it’s because you used coupons” spiel that Wags employees try to feed you – that is not why, trust me! I’ve been shopping Wags for a couple of years, doing the rewards thing, and it’s usually something on the store’s end that is why you don’t get the RR’s.

The person at Catalina will need numbers off your receipt, so have that hand.

I don’t have their number in front of me but you can get it from the right sidebar at the iheartwags website.

          • Mary

Oh, and it is seriously up to the individual cashier whether or not they’ll take the RR’s for dairy, giftcards, etc. Some will, some won’t. If they say no, I wouldn’t cause a fuss – it’s clearly marked on the coupon what the exclusions are.

A lot of questions on this forum could be answered just by reading the fine print on the coupons, folks. Not to sound mean, but if you educate yourself by reading the coupons and previous comments…half the questions on this post would be unnecessary…

    • Krystal

Often other stores will accept Register Rewards as well. I live in the South and my Publix accepts them. They are a manufacturer’s coupon. Next time you’re at the grocery store, just ask :).

    • Kerry

Have you started a stockpile yet? Generally, I like to purchase items that produce more RRs in addition what I buy that’s cheap or even free. So for example, if I had $4 to spare on a $10 RR this week, I would buy the Wags multivitamins for $2 and the Ecotrin aspirin for $2 because each one produces a $2 RR. Plus I will use these products. This way, you can “roll” your RRs and start stockpiling. Personally, I will be stocking up on the Oxi Clean laundry stuff on sale for 2.99 plus the $3/2 coupon. 🙂 I hope this helps. 🙂

    • Laurie

If you are in danger of losing RR (b/c of expiration dates) and there are not any deals that work for you, look for TMF (try me free) or free with rebate items. That way you will end up getting your money back in cash/check/pre-paid cards.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

If you can use the military commisary they accept walgreens RR’s. I read this on the Deca facebook site. Asked the manager at the commisary and she said no. So I politely said ok and wrote Deca a letter. The very next day the commisary manager called me and said yes, I am sorry, we do accept these. I just used $40.00 of RR’s at the commisary yesterday. I am lovin this.

    • Sharon

You could always just get some pictures printed there… or pick up some waterballons to ambush the kids or hubby with later… that’s what I bought yesterday.

    • Amy

Hi Kris, my Wags always lets me use my RRs towards milk so that’s what I buy to bring my total up. Another real easy way to bring your total up is to grab a couple/few Hallmark cards for any upcoming birthdays, anniversaries, etc. I like to have a couple of deepest sympathy cards on hand too. Hope that helps!

    • Dianne

You might consider using RR for your Sunday newspapers. If you are like a lot of us, you get multiple newspapers for the coupon inserts, which can add up.

      • Rachel

If I need to bring my total up to use a RR, I’ll sometimes get myself a treat. It’s my reward to myself and helps me get over the grumpies when I get a not-so-nice cashier 🙂

  18. linda k

hi everyone! is this an unadvertised deal/regional? I don’t see the promo in my weekly wag’s ad. just want to make sure! thanks

    • Renee

I was wondering this myself-nothing in my ad or on the soap in store.

      • Kerry

Walgreens doesn’t adverstise all their RR deals. And some stores seem to have problems putting the signs up for us shoppers. These are two of my biggest frustrations with Walgreens. BUT we have great people, like Collin, who dig around and find the deals that Walgreens sometimes like to hide from us. 🙂 wildforwags.com compiles a good list for monthly RRs as well. And you will notice that more RR deals will be added as the month progresses. Hope this helps. 🙂

  19. carol mg

WHOOOO IT WORKED!!!! JUST CAME HOME FROM WAGS~!!!!!

  20. Rhonda

Works in Southern Indiana. Thanks for the heads up! I had a very nice trip to WAGS this afternoon.

  21. Angie

I might have to try this next time I’m in town, thanks!

  22. MommmieD

This is a better deal if you use three $1.50/1 coupons from the May Safeway Health and Beauty coupon book.

    • MommmieD

Oh, the Safeway coupon book was already mentioned.

  23. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I did this earlier At one store it wasnt posted so I skipped the deal. The second store I went to had the sign up so I bought 3 got the 10.00 rr. I used the 10.00 for toilet paper and wags .59 cent foil.

  24. SUPERNANNY

Just a heads up on this deal. Some of the stores in my area have marked the soap up to 3/$10.00. I caught that and showed them the price on the shelf still said $2.89 and they adjusted mine and then took down the tag. That is pure sleaze in my opinion.

  25. Lucinda

Worked for me! Sweet! Thanks Collin 🙂

  26. Heather

Fragrance free bars of soap were only 2.69 at the Wags in Southern Indiana. I bought 3 & received my $10 in RRs. Yay! 🙂

  27. Hope Hoffman

This did NOT print a RR for me at the airport and Mcgregor Wags in Mobile, AL

  28. Stevie

This worked for me and the bars were $2.69 at my store!

  29. Dawn B

This worked for me but it took a long time for the RR to print. The cashier was calling management to void my transaction when it finally printed out. She was surprised that it took so long to print. So you might want to wait a little while before you think that you didn’t get it. Thanks Hip2save!

  30. marsha

anyone have neutrogena coupons for trade??

  31. Lisa C

Where are these located in store?

    • Elizabeth

I couldn’t find them in my Wags. Maybe I just didn’t look in the right place?

      • Lisa C.

I found them finally…..they were not with the big selection of Neutrogena stuff but instead with all the other face wash and stuff. They really blended in, and there were only a few other Neutrogena items near the bars.

  32. ANDREA

I got 3 in NC this morning. Thanks for the heads up on this one. Love it!! No coupons and still a money maker. Plus my teenage son needed this.

  33. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

i saw them at the store but they were 3.29 each. decided to wait to see if i find any coupons. hopefully there are still some left. there were only 4 left when i went right now.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Do a price check at a register. Quite often WG doesnt mark items correctly at times. I come across this here. I always write down(or copy) Collins prices and take it with me, if it dont match and ya want it, take the second to double verify. I was at WG yesterday and almost all the deals Collin posted for the 2 day sale were NOT marked, but rang up exactly right! Woot woot. Not saying they will, but ya drove all the way there, minus well double check. Sign could very easily been missed ya know? HTH :}

  34. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Darn! one store had zero bars, one had 2! -Short one. Uuugh. Oh well. Was hoping to use as a great “filler” items and a nice filler for some graduation baskets!

  35. thecents2save

Worked for me in Colorado! Thanks Collin!

  36. Summer

Today at the Walgreens I went to there was a sign by the Luster 7 toothpaste that said only one RR product per transaction and no multiple transaction. Is this common?

    • rmayer

I went to a new (to me) WAGS today, and they had a sign like that by their fliers- which you had to walk around to get into the store. Something about due to high demand, only 2 “free” with RR items per person… and they were all out of ecotrin and the cheap neutragina soap…. The other 2 WAGS I frequent each only had 2 bars of soap. Asked the crabby beauty consultant if they had more in the back, she said “no”, and offered the $8 liquid instead. She was giving me a dirty look- as if to say “I know what you’re up to, and you’re not going to get away with it” I half wanted to buy the 2, and return them at another WAGS so I could re-buy them with the 3rd bar, but decided not to.

  37. Mags

I went tonight and purchased 2 of the N soaps and used the Safeway coupon and no register reward printed! Manager said it was becuase I used a coupon – anyone else have that experience? Is this a new policy for WAGS?

  38. Mags

I meant to say 3 soaps – I purchased 3 N soaps and used 3 of the safeway coupons for N products and no register reward – anyone else have this problem? Is this a new policy?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

If that happens again, try to have them ring up an order without using the coupons — that will usually prove to them that it’s not because you used a coupons and that it just plain didn’t work for some reason. Using a manufacturer coupon (that is not a register reward) should not affect your RR printing out. I had to do that once to prove to the manager that even without the coupon it wasn’t working!! So he ended up just giving me a $10 Walgreens gift card since the RR wouldn’t print out no matter what they tried (this was awhile ago) and it was clearly stated in their ad.

    • mary

no it worked for me.Used 3 safeway coupons and got the 10RR

  39. Maggie

Worked for me in WI! 🙂 It wasn’t marked as a product that would have registar rewards, but to my surprise $10 RR printed out!! 🙂

  40. Marissa

Working here in WI, and the soaps are priced at $2.69. I was at three different Walgreens today and two of them had tons of bars, and at the other I got the last three.

  41. Dawn

Yay it worked for me, but the soap was $3.29, the total bill was $10.56 and when the $10 RR printed out the cashier asked me how I did it.

  42. Sofia

thank you 🙂 i got them at 2.69 yesterday, and at my local dominicks, i found this awesome coupon booklet for may that has 1.50 off ANY neutrogena skincare product! YES!!! 🙂 I will be doing this deal today. I will also go back to Dominick’s for a new coupon booklet.

    • marsha

if you pick up extra coupon books, I would be interested in trading with you for them
