I have a question… at what age should women start using these types of skin care products? I am 25 and want to start a good beauty routine now but it seems to soon to be using anti-aging and anti-wrinkle products. However, most the deals are on them! 🙂 So am I wrong, should I be using something like this now? If I should, I’ll be grabbing this deal! Thanks!!
I think so, it seems to me you have to start using them before you have many wrinkles to have the best effect. Your skin starts to break down at 20 so that’s probably a good time to start. (The funny thing is your bones don’t fully ossify till 25 or so.
I have worked in the cosmetic industry for almost 10 yrs now…I will offer what advice I have learned from my own experience and the 100’s of people I have worked with/seen over the years.
Before 30 (and often after if you start young and take good care of your skin) you should focus primarily on preventative rather than corrective aging. There is nothing in these wrinkle product that will effect you negatively; however there are some that say it desensitizes your immune system to be using things you don’t need (ie. they won’t work as good when you need them to -if you use them before you really need them.) Use your own judgement and research.
That said – I don’t know why you shouldn’t purchase a money maker and either give as a gift or donate…has anyone ever sold these products (new, unopened) on ebay and had any luck?
I am 25 as well and was kind of wondering the same thing. I think now would probably be a good age to start though! Our skin can look fabulous as we get older because we started out pretty young :o)
I am not seeing the $5/1 Sunblock coupon on the Aveeno website…
I was looking over these rebate offers and noticed this in the “fine print”-
“Gift Card to be mailed separately from rebate check. Rebate based on actual price paid (after any & all coupons are used). Sales tax excluded”
Does this mean that the final out of pocket needs to be $50? I’m a little confused.
Same exact question here. I see that all the scenarios are done BEFORE coupons, but the fine print states otherwise?? Am i reading this wrong. I always thought Riteaid did their rebates BEFORE coupons. Help!!
All the rebates I have ever done with Rite Aid, the total is before coupons. I’m 99.9% positive this will work just fine. Once you submit your receipts online, you’ll find out within a couple of days if it worked or not. If something unexpected happens, you can return the products.
I’ve already submitted one receipt that was 25 before coupons and Rite Aid has accepted it. I will now be adding to it- I was waiting to see how they were going to do it- FYI- I did have a problem with them saying one of my Nivea for Men products was an Aveeno product. Does anyone have any experience contesting something like this?
I’d also like to know about contesting the rebate status. I’ve had quite a few deals show up on the SCR status as either not purchasing the correct products or the receipt not matching their records. I double check my receipts and product purchases and don’t know what to do about fixing it when I know I’ve bought the correct items. Makes me a little skittish about doing any more deals with them, especially a high dollar one : ( I used to love the SCR too.
I have written rite aid and contested their calulations twice. Once, it was because I purchased the item pictured but it wasn’t included in the wording of the rebate. That one I didn’t get. But, I did get another one I contested about (it was the planters nut one). So, it’s worth trying, FYI: I bought $25 in lotion ($7 after coupons) and they gave me a $10 giftcard and the bonus $5 too.
I’ve called RA a few times with problems on my rebates and they have been great. In fact, I miscalculated once by pennies and the rebate period was over and they were nice enough to make an adjustment for me so that I still qualified. I love Rite Aid!! 🙂
I’ve had that problem too. How do you prove you bought what you say you bought. Very frustrating!
My sister purchased this on Sunday. She got the 20% discount plus bought other Aveeno stuff. She used a $5 manufacturers coupon and a $5 off $25 and today she got info from RA that said her rebate was approved. It DID NOT factor in the coupons at all which seems to be the way RA does all their rebates.
Ashley and Amanda C, wondering about what age to start using anti-aging products? The answer for you two is age 25. 😉 In your 20’s, anti-aging products are performing a preventative action on your skin, instead of a repairing action. The most important thing is to find an anti-aging product or products that MOST importantly has an SPF of at least 15 (or if you’re fair like me, I go for SPF 25+), and one(s) that will work with your facial chemistry and won’t leave your skin too oily or too dry. And use it every single day before you get any sun. Night creams aren’t as important, they are just the day cream without the SPF, usually, and not worth the extra cost. Skip the eye creams, you are much better off using the cream with the SPF in it around your eyes to protect that especially delicate skin from the sun.
Of course, you’re probably thinking “Okay, yeah, but who is this lady giving us advice?” Well, other than reading up ALOT on this very subject, I’m going to be 33 years old in August. I started using anti-aging products w/ SPF religiously in my early 20’s. People today will ask me my age (and I must look young if they are being so bold to ask) and then act surprised when I say 32, most of them say they would have guessed early to mid-20’s. So anti-aging products totally work, start now, reap the benefits later. 🙂 As they say, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” and it’s especially true when it comes to your skin. So stock up!! 🙂
And, Collin, thanks for posting this!!!! I was SOOOO excited to see the skin care rebate, I knew it was going to be great, but now I’m about to bust out of my skin reading this Aveeno deal! I wanted to try the Ageless Vitality and now I get to with a money maker no less!! WOOOOOHOOOO! 🙂
I disagree with your opinion on night creams – however I suppose depending upon the brand this should be true. The night creams I use (and have researched) focus more on repair and fighting off free-radical damage – which attacks your skin primarily at night. Night creams can feel a little thicker and are often more moisturizing because no matter your skin type – your skin is the driest at night (no eating or drinking for quite some time). Day creams often have SPF and several more anti-oxidents to help boost your skin’s natural immune system and prevent damage…obviously if you are using complimentary night and day creams they will have many of the same ingredients – but a good company has research and development behind their product and have well balanced formulas focused on the specific treatment.
I started using anti-aging products when I was in my early 20’s and now in my early 40’s it has paid off. I don’t have any wrinkles and I constantly hear that I look younger than my age. Some of my favorite products are Complex 15 moisturizer, Retin-A, MD Forte Lotion 1, 2 and 3, Alpha/Beta Face peels (buy the travel pack so the pads don’t dry out) https://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P102506&cm_mmc=us_partners-_-Linkshare-_-datafeed-_-allpdts&_requestid=142748 You can sometimes find these products on sale or on eBay for a good price. Another tip is using Vaseline on your face on top of whatever treatment/moisturizer you use at night. After applying the Vaseline, use a tissue and blot off as much as you can so it’s not so sticky.
I can’t get the sunblock coupon either. It takes me to a form and I fill it out and then get Download Coupon but all it does is take me back to the homepage.
You have to turn off your pop-up blocker to print the coupon.
I can’t get the sunblock coupon either! Maybe they are going to e-mail or mail us the coupon?
Collin – help!
I had to turn off my pop up blocker to get mine after logging into my account..I was getting very discouraged until I figured it out…I must have tried 20 times 🙂
yeah, the fine print on the rebate specifically says “based on actual price paid, AFTER any and all coupons. so the moneymaker would only end up being like 2 something. But, hey, free products! Also, I couldn’t find the $5 coupons either, it says download your coupon and goes back to the homepage…
If you requested the aveeno sample not that long ago, it came with a $10 coupon for Ageless Vitalitity!!! Putting this one to good use this week!
Hmmm. Do you remember which Aveeno sample? I usually get Aveeno freebies, but I am drawing a blank.
Erin….it came in the Aveeno Active Naturals Nourish+Volumize Shampoo/Conditioner samples
Bummer. I got the sample, but I don’t seem to have the Q. Either I didn’t get one, tossed it, thinking if it was $10, the product was probably too expensive, or misplaced it somehow. Going back through my Qs again. . . .
Thanks!
the only thing i got with any of my aveeno samples was a 1.00 coupon… bummer that i couldnt find the 10.00 one…
Also, fo you that are looking for the $5 coupon…website says once you register a $5 coupon will be sent to you.
Make sure pop ups are allowed for the Aveno site – I had to okay the pop up then I was able to print the coupons.
Wow can anyone get into to print the coupons? I already have an account but now it says it isn’t registered. Even when I use the link from the emails.
I signed up as a new member ans was able to print the coupon 2 times. They prompt you to print the coupon after you fill out the info . I checked that I was interested in sunblock. Maybe that helped?
It keeps scrolling back to the password but it says it’s high and matches. So strange.
Not sure what you mean Michele….. It told me that I was already signed up under my usual email address but would not let me use my password and then never allowed me to get help with my password….so I created a new account with a different email address that I have and it all worked fine. Hope this helps!
The page was scrolling up like I missed a field. I tried two computers and 3 email accounts. Going to send this to hubby at work and see if he can get it to work. I have the daily stuff and love it. I wouldn’t mind stocking up with it’s hot.
Try this site to see if it will print a $5.00 coupon off Aveeno Ageless Vitality product……
https://bricks.coupons.com/Start.asp?tqnm=zfbkdzf62155198&bt=vi&o=62899~62898&c=AV&p=X7RAUf4B
Pamela J, you are the bomb! 🙂 I couldn’t get the Q to print but with the link you posted I was able to get it! THANKS!!!!!!
Thanks Pamela. The Aveeno site has some issue, tell me to log in to print $5 then saying my email already registered. Why told me to log in instead register!
I already did the rebate #555 with the Olay products. Are we limited to one rebate #555? Or as many as we want?
Nope, you get just 1 rebate.
My coupons finally printed after I filled out the form, it just took a LONG time for them to scroll to the printer (using FF).
I entered all my info and then it froze my computer…… didnt get anything either
Is this store usually only in rural areas? I’m in a large metro area and I’ve never seen one. The closest to me is 40 miles away!
Don’t know what city you’re in, but I’m in Atlanta and they’re all over. They’re only in certain parts of the country.
Nope I live in San Diego and I have about 4 in a 10 mile radius.
My computer keeps freezing after filling out the form! It is driving me crazy!!
OK – It finally printed 2 hours later. I just had to keep refreshing the page.
My computer keeps freezing after filling out the form as well. I called Aveeno using this number 1-877-298-2525. The nice lady at the other end said she was unaware that there was a problem and that she would let someone know.
Here’s the link to the rebate form….
https://www.aveeno.com/sites/default/files/AVF-11838%20Rebate_Rd1.pdf
Any one have a link to the coupon? I can get to the “Step 1” rebate form, but the “Step 2” coupon sign-up at the bottom of the page isn’t appearing – the page just ends. Thanks!
Same thing is happening to me….I have been trying all morning 🙁
Me too! I signed up and I’m “logged in”, but it keeps taking me back to the page where you sign up when I click on the “get your savings button”. Anybody have any suggestions?
Pamela J posted a link that worked for me. See previous posts.
Next week there is a $5 ad coupon on the ageless. If you have 10% pass it will be cheaper next week.
$39.99-10%-$5inad- $5manufacturer coupon-$5/$25=$21+tax
Suncare in ad coupon for $2
It would be .40 more next week after in ad coupons (two if your store allows) and $5 suncare(twice) & $5/$20
$13.90 each -(2)$5-(2)$2-$5/$20=$7.38+tax
$21+$7.38=$28.38-$20 Aveeno rebate-$25 RA gift card($67 before coupons)-$5 bonus with wellness=
$21.62 MM(without tax)
Great catch!!
Thanks!
What is the 10% off pass? Did this come in one of your samples? is it on the Aveeno website?
10% is a reward with the wellness account. I have one and waiting for another to arrive. They come snail mail 3-4weeks. From RA’s site
for every 125 points a one-time, 10% off shopping pass
1,000 points 20% off all non-prescription points purchases every day
When used with a sale priced item the customer will receive the lower of the discount price or sale price.
Someone has to double check my math. Prices for sunblock based on Colin’s price. The ageless is the price on my receipt from last month.
Also when you reach enough points, you move to the next level and automatically receive 10% off all non sale items. that is where I am at and then the next step is 20% off. You get the pass for every 125 or 175 points you accrue…something in that range.
Wow great find!!! I get 20% off which is a way better deal, I’ll wait till next week, thanks so much for sharing!
I was able to use my $5 and $2 in-ad coupons yesterday at Rite Aid. They have no beginning date, just an expiration date. Scanned with no problem. Here in PA they send out the upcoming Rite Aid ad on Tuesday’s in the mail. I love it.
We also get next weeks flyer on Tuesday, I didn’t notice there was no beginning date..another great find..I’ll start hunting down these products today, thanks!
Don’t know if I want to put the cash out up front on this.
I know I won’t buy any more of the items unless they’re free or almost so in the future.
I like as little OOP as possible. 🙂
Well, I registered, and it’s not showing a coupon….hhmmm
I wish we had a rite aide, they seem to have soo many great deals!!
I went to 2 Rite Aid stores this morning and neither one of them had the Ageless Vitality System. One store was out of stock and the other store didn’t even have a place for it on the shelf. Also, does anyone know if the sunscreen is found with the Aveeno products or with the sunscreen? I could not find it at all this morning. Thank you in advance for your help.
I found the sunscreen at both locations. My one store keeps moving the sunscreen though.
The last time RA had the vitality on sale it was hard to find.
I haven’t found it either. I looked in the sunscreen aisle at two rite aids in two different cities and couldn’t even find a label for it on the shelf. hope i can find it before the week ends.
You have to check the box for receiving future communications from Aveeno and have your pop-ups enabled. I couldn’t get it to work in FF, so switched to IE and no problems.
Not sure if this will work for you but thought I would let anyone try it: Coupon for $5.00 off ANY Aveeno Ageless Vitality Product
https://bricks.coupons.com/Start.asp?tqnm=zfbkdzf62155198&bt=vi&o=62899~62898&c=AV&p=X7RAUf4B
Please let me know if it works for you!
Hi Pamela J. Your site worked for me. Thank you so much!!
Hey, thanks. Could only print once; but It did work!
Thank you Pamela J it worked for me too!!
At my store the kit is NOT ringing up 20% off 🙁
It wasn’t ringing up at the 20% off at my store either, so I just showed them the ad in the flyer advertising the 20% discount and they gave it to me for $31.99 no problem (originally $39.99 at my store).
I tried and the manager said no. I used my 10% wellness Q on it. I called corporate after I got home and they are supposed to call me back
I had the same problem. I showed them the ad which said 20% off Aveeno sun, skin and bath care (and excluded baby first aid and clearance). The cashier was nice about it but the manager was irritated and made me feel as though I was doing something wrong. Uggh.
I couldn’t find either products at my store (as in no shelf space). Does anyone know if Rite Aid is good about ordering items?
I don’t know that answer but I shop at two different Rite Aid’s in our town and they are both completely different. Different items and PRICES!! They are about 3 miles apart but the selection and prices are much different which is weird I think.
I went to 3 Rite Aids today (2 are in my county and the other was in a neighboring county). None of them even had a spot for the Aveeno Ageless sunscreen. They only had the Aveeno Naturals sunscreen. Out of the 3, only one had the Ageless system in stock. The first store was out of stock and the second store didn’t even have a space for it. I asked the lady tonight if they had the Aveeno Ageless sunscreen and she said they didn’t even carry it. Frustrating, but I guess I will keep looking.
I went to 4 different Rite Aids and none of them carried the sunscreen either. Makes me a little angry when I go over to CVS and they have a ton of it, but that does me no good.
I *finally* got the sunblock coupon…try this link, hope it works..it is SO hard to get! hahaha
https://bricks.coupons.com/Start.asp?tqnm=zfciakg62842337&bt=vg&o=63718&pt=&lang=&ws=&ct=&ci=&cl=&cp=&eb=1&c=JJ&p=nur24@aol.com&z=&r=&pc=&tc=
This one doesn’t work for me. How did you end up getting it? I’ve been trying forever. I keep hitting submit and nothing ever happens. I’ve refreshed like 40 times. 🙁
Oh sorry, bummer. Just like you kept hitting submit over and over…
I tried for days to get it to print and finally was able to print it tonight! I switched out of Safari to Firefox and turned off the pop up blocker and it FINALLY printed. Now, I read, people aren’t finding it at Rite Aid so it may all be for nothing. Oh well. If my store has it, at least I am prepared!
i went to 2 different rite aids (luckly they are both on my way to work) 1 didnt have it and 1 did… if you are getting this for the SCR then, keep trying. I know CVS carries it, and my local CVS does match competator prices – at the 20% off. With the coupon and the price match, it was a little more, but they are offering a 10.00 RR
I switched to internet explorer and finally got it.
Oh yeah! Also google chrome is great when all else fails. I sure hope I can actually find the product now at RA!
I couldn’t find the Aveeno Sunblock so I did the Garnier Fructis mosturizer $10.99 BOGO facial wipes free ($8.99 savings) to get over $50 along with the Aveeno Elasticity Kit (not 20% off at my store). The moisturizer is listed as one of the skincare products that counts. If I did my math right, it should be a $22 moneymaker.
I’m so sad I live in S. FL and there isn’t a RIte Aid within 100 miles of here 🙁
I switched from Firefox to Internet Explorer (after trying for DAYS to get the sunblock coupon to print) and it worked in IE no problem!
