No new stores in Iowa. Thanks for the $5 coupon – I had purchased the books with $3 coupons – I’ll be going back to use the $5!!

    Thanks again!

I need a deal on the tag pen! Have a bunch of books with no pen 🙂

    • Christine

The pen(16MB) is on clearance for 19.99 at leapfrog.com. This older version holds 5 or 6 books. The newer one holds 10 and is currently selling for $35 on Amazon.

Do you have to buy two to get the two for $20 price? The coupons printed are exactly the same and i am not sure if i will be able to use both.

    • Julie S.

Target did! If there’s an ad, and TRU won’t take the coupons, Target will price match!

      • Kristin

I agree go to target! i printed 4 coupons last week when the books were on sale and I was able to use all 4 in one transaction.

My walmart has some of the tag books on clearance for $5.00 I found them last night so im going today with the coupons to get them FREE Thank-you Collin

  8. Tracie

Does anyone know if you have to buy 2 to get this price?

    • Amanda C

If you click on the link in the TRU ad it says, “Must buy 2 for offer.”

I have never bought one of these before, but am considering it. My daughter is 2 1/2 and we are wanting to find something new for her to play with. We have a 12+ hour flight next month (moving to Japan), so I need to find something that is quiet and will keep her entertained for a long time. Do you think this would be a good idea to get her?

    • Amanda C

This is a little young for a 2 1/2 year old. They have a Junior version for the younger ones. The stories aren’t as good but not too bad, the Kai-lan story is good.

    • Deanna

We bought this for my daughter’s second birthday, and it’s a great travel toy for her. We did buy the one for older kids (not the Jr.) becuase you can still load the Tag Jr. stories on the pen for the older kids. If you buy the Tag Jr and your daughter really likes it, you’ll be purchasing the “regular” Tag in no time since you can’t load the stories for older kids on the Jr. pen. It’s really not that hard to hold, either. If your daughter is holding pens, colors, or markers comfortably, then she shouldn’t have a problem.

      There, that’s my two cents!

I do not agree with the other poster who says it is too young for 2.5 years old. I got it for my daughter when she was between 2 and 2.5 and before she started kindergarten she was reading 2nd grade level books on her own. It’s an amazing toy, and mom and dad do the hard part of putting the books on the pen. All the child has to do is touch the pen to the book. So if you child can respect a book, this is an excellent toy and learning tool for them. You can get child safe headphones and plug it into the pen, and so they can play privately without disturbing other plane passangers. I would not recommend The Tag Junior, because it is bulky and difficult to hold. You can put Tag Junior books onto this Tag pen, but not vice versa. If you want the lower level books you can still put them on the pen,a nd then graduate to the upper levels without purchasing a whole new system. Have a wonderful flight and trip. I ramble..:)

The Toys R Us prices online have a lot of books 2/$16! That means your final price will be $3 each!

  11. Karen

When I click on the $5 coupon link, it logs me into leapfrog.com (I have the leapfrog connect installed on my computer), and I can’t find the coupon. Any suggestions???

  12. Tina

I used the coupon at TRU yesterday and didn’t have any problems, but the coupon states limit one coupon per purchase and you have to buy two to get the TRU deal.

    • Allison

I think from what I have learned “one per purchase” means one coupon per purchase of each item or one per purchase per product. Google it on Collin’s site.

      • Martha

MY toysrus did not let me used 2 coupons for 2 books. They claim it said per purchased. I has been there earlier during the week and got 4 with no problem. This time they said only one. There was not upper mangement to ask to speak to, but i was upset, I did not get to use both my coupons.

  13. amy

I purchased 6 TAG Jr books at TRU in MT you have to buy 2 to get sale price (2 for $16) and was able to use 6 coupons only $3.00 per book!!

  14. Maureen Ruble

Yay! I just purchased five new books….the girl was only going to accept one coupon but the manager told her that it was okay to use all five.

  15. Rachel

So does this coupon work for tag jr. books as well?

  16. Brandy

Tried to get the great deal on Tag books at Toysrus and the girl working the reg said that they don’t take online coupons. I asked her is that was just their store and she said its all their stores. Does anyone know if this is true? If so Toysrus will be losing my business!
