Thanks Collin,
great cookbook
Thanks! I could not get the right program to open mine up..:(
Thanks so much, Collin! It looks a great cookbook.:)
Thanks!!! I love to cook so I am always looking for new recipes 🙂
Downloaded easily into a PDF for my computer – no special software needed. Have no idea who the chef is but the recipes look delicious … definitely not “health” food and heavy on the butter, cheeses and fats, but many are very Irish! Looking forward to trying a few on special occasions. It’s interspersed with a LOT of photos (presumably of the author and her family) so I will probably only print the recipes I particularly want to make.
Thanks for the link!
She’s an acclaimed Irish chef, mainly pastry, who has a show on PBS of the same name, and another show on the cooking network (food network’s sister station & which used to be the fine living channel on Direct TV). She makes some of the most simple, yet delectible desserts on earth!
She is basically a minimalist who believes in fresh local ingredients instead of unnecessary ingredients just to complicate and artificially enhance the recipe. Everything is from scratch and the best that can be purchased–like Kerrigold butter (Irish butter, the sponser of the booklet) is $6.99 per half pound at my grocery store.
Yeah at our house well call her “the Irish Paula Deen” because she cooks with all the same fattening stuff Paula does. This lady has a really good shortbread pie crust recipe that I’ve used with my old cream pie recipes. Does it ever make them taste good!
Great, thanks!!
LOVE free cookbooks!!! Thank you
It didn’t work for me. Said it wasn’t a valid code.
Thanks, Collin.
Just a warning for those of you who might not have a lot space on your hard drive–I downloaded this last week and it was over 40 MB. I am a foodie, and an avid cookbook collector, plus I have literally millions of recipes from around the globe on my computer, so I didn’t appreciate the space it was using.
This .pdf booklet is full of 20 wonderful recipes, although none of which I felt I couldn’t find through a search engine and most likely on a British, Irish or Austrailian food site…. A couple are American standards that most people know how to make.
What I did not appreciate about the is .pdf booklet is that it was full of pictures of her family and friends more than of the food and recipes–more than half of it is nothing but pictures. I guess they want to introduce her the American public through the pictures? I deleted mine–found every recipe listed on other sites–just have to use metrics when I make her recipes, or convert them.
For those of you who would like to see some of her recipes and can’t get the codes to work, just go to: CookingChannelTV.com or LifeStyleFood.com.au or http://www.bbc.co.uk/food or uktv.co.uk/food search chefs for Rachel Allen & you’ll find a listing of her recipes.
Thanks for the heads up! I was browsing through the comments for this type of warning.
