If you have yet to take advantage of the free glasses offer from Coastal Contacts AND you live in one of the states mentioned below, you now have another chance to snag a free pair! Keep in mind that you should sign-up now to receive your unique free glasses coupon code if you reside in one of the states listed below (one promo pair per customer, previous free recipients and duplicate orders will be canceled). Then just hang onto your code until the day that the giveaway goes live in your state.

If you live in any of the states listed above, here’s what you need to do to snag free glasses…

* Head over to the Coastal Contacts Facebook page now, “like” them and click on the “Free Glasses” tab. You’ll then need to select your state from the drop-down menu and click on the “Give Me A Code” button. Keep in mind that each code will only work for the date and state for which you are signed up for.

* Then head over to CoastalContacts.com and pick out your favorite frames and follow the directions in the details/rules below.

On a side note, check out this email and picture that I received from reader, Cyndi….

My free glasses just came. I ordered them on 2/18 and they came today.  What great service.  They are beautiful and came with a gift card for a free pair for a friend. If it were not for your site, I would have missed this great surprise.

Giveaway Details/Rules

(To see the giveaway rules, click the link below “Read More / Post Your Comments”.)

* Only the first 5,000 people will be able to use the coupon code to snag a FREE pair of glasses including the frame and standard 1.5 index lenses (note: you will need to pay shipping/handling charges will usually range between $10-$15). Keep in mind that if you have received a free pair of glasses from Coastal Contacts before, then you are not eligible for this promotion; limit one free pair per household.

* This promotion is valid for web orders on the specific date of your state’s promotion only. If you need help with your web order, call the optical staff at 1-866-333-6888.

* Certain frames are NOT eligible for the promotion. If you see a “Coupons not applicable” message on a pair of frames, then it is excluded from the promotion.

* You will need a copy of your current eyeglasses prescription (it’s different from your contact lens prescription) and your PD measurement. Sometimes your PD will be on your prescription, but if not, watch this instructional video on how to measure it.

* After you have chosen your frames and selected your shipping method, you’ll go to a “Order Review & Payment” page, where you can enter and apply your coupon code. After applying your code, you will see your order total before you choose to check out (remember that you will have to pay shipping/handling charges of $10-$15)

* If you would prefer to order a pair of prescription sunglasses, you can use the coupon code and then you can add a tint to your lenses and simply pay for the cost of the tinting, which is about $30.

* Your free pair of glasses will include the standard 1.5 index lenses, which accommodates up to a -8.00. However, if your prescription is over a + or -2.00, you may want to upgrade to a thinner, lighter lens. If you choose to upgrade your lenses, or have selected progressives, Transitions or a tint, you will see the cost of the upgrade in your order total.

* If you’re not happy with your glasses for any reason, Coastal Contacts will allow one exchange for another free pair at an equal or lesser value. They’ll even pay for the return shipping and send you a return label. Just give them a call at 1-866-333-6888 to make arrangements. Remember to keep your box and all the accessories that came with your order.

If anyone who has purchased them gets a free coupon they cannot use, I would LOVE to take it off your hands if possible.

    Thanks

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Here take my code: OKNM1HS44F, KANSAS which is Today, March 2.

  2. Becky

It’s not working for me, Nothing comes up when I click on free glasses.

  3. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    Thanks! Got my code.

  4. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

So do you go ahead and pick out the glasses you want now or do you have to wait until the date for your state?

    • Collin

It is a good idea to browse through the available glasses and pick a few that you like; however, your unique code will not be valid until the date/time of your specific state’s giveaway.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thank U for your reply, got them all picked out!

  5. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Wish this was in my state! I’m so scared my baby is going to break my glasses and I won’t be able to.afford new ones!

    • Liz

Try ZenniOptical.com. You can get glasses on the cheap there… like $10 for frames, not sure about lenses.

    • Trace

It will come to your state.. (unless it has already) They apparently are doing the whole country

  6. girlsaves

Nothing comes up when I click on “like” and then “free glasses” either.

    • girlsaves

Ok, I finally got the code.

  7. Kaley

Why do they give away so many glasses for free? What is there purpose for doing so?

    • Kristin

Advertising. Have you heard of them before this? I hadn’t. They’re hoping for repeat/new customers.

  8. Courtney

I got my code but what exactly do I do with it on my date? I have looked at the website but don’t see what I need to do.

    • Lindsey

When they’re giving glasses away to your state, you have to wait until the specific time that they give you and you’ll just enter that code in at checkout.

  9. gaynor

Even though my state is in the top ten states for economic disaster… like always, it’s not listed! LOL

    • Lindsey

They may have already done the giveaway for your state…sorry!

  10. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I just got my free pair a week ago. They are great!!! I went to a local optical store and tried on frames and had my measurements taken and then went on line a few days before the order date and shopped for the frames that would work best for me.so I was ready to place the order on the date offered. Worked great. I didn’t order the glare coat, but they came with it anyway. Seems if the regular glass isn’t in stock, they often fill the order with the glass with glare/scratch resistance coating.
    Good luck!

  11. Kristin

Got a code – thanks! I just hope the upgrade to featherweight lenses isn’t too expensive. That is a non-negotiable for me! lol

  12. Lauren

Ok, I got the code. Am I guaranteed the free glasses or do I still have to be one of the first 5,000 people? How early can I redeem the code on my day?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

If you have a code, you can redeem at anytime on the date specified.

      • Lauren

        Thanks!

  13. Nicole J 

Boo no Texas !!! Hope we included agian soon

    • Lindsey

      They did Texas last Friday…:(

  14. magellan_02

I got my code but I have to use it today. I haven’t gotten an eye exam in over a year so my dr. office will not send my perscription to me until I get another exam. By the time I do that I will have missed out on the free glasses. 🙁 I could have really used them since my daughter had recently broke mine and now I am hoding them together with just a twisty tie. 🙁 If anyone gets a coupon in the mail for another free pair and would like to pass it along I would appreciate it.

    • Tomoko

Call the custmer service and tell them that you need to see a doctor to get an exam.
I think they will hold the glasses for you. Their custmer service rep are super nice.

    • Dianne

You have the right to get your prescription. They are usually good for 2 years. I don’t understand why yours won’t give you your prescription. When you got the exam, you paid for the prescription. I’d get it from them one way or another.

      • A

Rx expiration varies by state…most r one yr. The optometrist’s office reserves the right to charge for your rx release. Most will release it at no charge though but sometimes people will keep asking for it so a small charge of a couple dollars justifies the paper, time, ink, etc. To rewrite or reprint it.

    • Joanne

I would think a doctor’s office would need to hand over copies of your medical records. Whenever I go to any doctor I always ask for a copy of the papers they have and that way I keep it in my file at home. You just never know when you need them plus that way I can see when was the last time I had some type of exam done at the doctors.

  15. MissieB

I just want reading glasses like I buy in the drug stores, do I still need to get an eye exam or is there a way to order them without one. Also, if I do need a presciption, is there anywhere I can get one free?

    • A

You would most likely need an exam because Im assuming you enter in the Rx and they call or fax to verify the Rx at the doctor’s office. That is what 1800 contacts does

      • Amber R.

They only ask you for your rx they do not contact your dr to verify

  16. Sue M.

I finally got my code, thanks so much!!

I “liked” them, then clicked on the Free glasses link on the left, then clicked on the request your State drop down. No form or code.

I finally clicked on my actual state in the “Upcoming Free Days” Box (Arizona), and got the code then. Hope that helps some of you.

  17. Trace

We got our code for WI and used it on Feb 22. The glasses came yesterday. They are REALLY nice! had to pay for shipping – but is such a small price to pay for this quality of prescription glasses. It is a deal not to pass up if you wear glasses. Get a spare – you can even pay like $30 to upgrade to sunglasses. Nice!

  18. MA

So do the lenses come with, or just the frames?

    • Lindsey

Yes the lenses come with the frames.

  19. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Is it just me or does it look like on their website that you have to spend 149 bucks on contacts to get free glasses?

  20. slimsmom

Got my code and went thru it all and then when i enter the code it tells me not a valid coupon. Is anyone else is having this problem?? HELP!!

    • Collin

Be sure that today is the giveaway day for your particular state (see the picture in the post above).

    • Lindsey

The giveaway does not start until 12pm CST today.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

That happened to me too. For me, it was because I had chosen frames that were not included in the promotion (too expensive). It then gave me a list of other frames not included so I just had to pick out another pair (they had to be $78 or lower). Then my coupon code worked! You have to pay shipping ($10-14) and extra if you want thin lenses, transition lenses and scratch resistant, etc. I ended up paying $50 which included light lenses, all the protectors and shipping. Not too bad, as long as they turn out OK!

  21. Tina Kosicek

This is sad good old ILLINOIS is not on the list. Why not?

    • Lindsey

They may have already done the giveaway for that state.

    • lynette

They ALREADY DID Illinois on Jan 28th think because I ordered them for my daughter and we love the glasses even thought it took a long time to get because the lenses were not in stock!!

  22. Bella

Is this Free Shipping as well, then?

    • okmotherof2

No, you will pay $10-$15 in shipping.

  23. Beth

Anyone know if there is a time limit for the day once you get the code – like can you use it until 11:59 p.m. the day of?

    • PJ

I assume they are not limiting the number of codes they give out but the number of people using the code. So once they reach 5000 orders with the code then the promotion is done (no particular time limit). Does this sound right? Or am I wrong and they are only giving out 5000 codes???

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

No they are giving out 5000 codes today.

      • Stephanie

The way I read it, they are only giving away 5000 codes for that dy. When I requested mine, the number available actually went down by one. In the FAQ section, it said there were 5000 unique codes each day.

        • PJ

Thanks! I was going to wait until the day my state came up to get a code – but I have my code now;-)

          • PJ

And to answer Beth’s original question – once I clicked on my states/date – the screen with my code says the code is good starting at noon (mountain standard time) on 3/7 and good for 24 hours after start time.

  24. Shannon

I wear contacts during the day and glasses at night. Can I order contacts with my free glasses?

    • PJ

On the home page – there is a deal right now for free glasses when you purchase contacts ($149 or more) – the only question I would have – would you get a better selection of frames with one deal or the other???

  25. slimsmom

I got it!! I did not see where it did not start till 12:00. I paid 14.28 for shipping a tax so we will see. Heck for 14 bucks I can suck it up and wear them around the house!! Thanks Collin for all you do!!

  26. trinakay

I paid the extra $11 for the ARC and UV and scratch resistant. Hope it was worth it! I went and got my prescription today and she said I needed those in my lenses since Im having trouble driving at night. So my total was $24 for a super cute purple Lucky pair 🙂

  27. Jen B

Sooo sad California’s not listed. Maybe next time……

  28. Tiffany

this is the absolute best post you have ever done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
my husband and daughter got new glasses today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    thanks sooo much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  29. Home Jobs for Mom

This isn’t in my state either. 🙁

For anyone who needs new/replacement glasses, a friend turned me on to zennioptical.com. I just purchased two pairs of glasses from them, shipping included was $28. I haven’t received them yet, but if anyone wants to know what I think of them when they come in, just contact me through my website and I’ll email you!

  30. Nancy

I came so close I live in Texas …:( I could use a new pair too been 2yrs. and have no insurance this would have been a awsome deal!!

  31. Liz

I think you can get 7% back through Ebates!

  32. Mary K Gruender

Got the code for my brother in law and he used it today with out any problems. He had picked out the pair he wanted a head of time and ordered them right at noon. They cost $27 (i believe) with some extras. What a deal. Thanks Collin for this post. I got the code last week, he went and got his eyes checked then got the glassed today! nice team work!

  33. Patty

Anyone have any reviews on glasses received with near sighted/astigmatism and progressive bifocals? I have my code and will be giving it a whirl tomorrow. My last pair was nearly $400 at Lenscrafters.

  34. Beth

Anyone else have handling and insurance cost?

  35. Allison

Ok, spent $18.15 with shipping + handling/insurance costs so hopefully that counts because I went through ebates!

If they get here and are good, I think I’ve gotten an excellent deal!

  36. Kayla

The doctor’s office won’t tell me what my prescription is. :[ I get that maybe I should have had my eyes checked again in the last four years.. but it isn’t some government secret or anything. It’s just a prescription. I can’t afford to get my eyes checked again right now. Poop.

  37. Betty

Thanks this is a great deal. I was able to order glasses today. $9.95 shipping and a handling $4ish shipping charge. We paid the extra $11ish dollars to get UV, antiglare and scratch resist coating. Looking forward to getting the glasses.

  38. Jennifer

I won’t be able to use my code today 🙁 However, I hope someone else can, so here it is: IKT5EX9TF for Indiana. It is only valid for today, 3/3/11. Good Luck! What a fantastic deal!

  39. Kristin

I have a code for Indiana (needs to be used today) that I am not going to use. Turns out the upgrade to lighter lenses makes them almost as much as I can get them for locally, and for the price difference I’d rather be able to try them on. The code is: IKT3M3SBP

  40. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Not using my code for Idaho, Utah, Arizona for someone who needs one: UAI1H43B4

  41. Sue M.

Thank you SO much! Got a pair today. I got my code a couple days ago, then went by my optometrist’s office yesterday to get my prescription and PD #. (I misplaced them a bit back.) I also looked at the glasses, and picked out my #1 and #2 first picks.

I got my #1 pick today. I’m hoping they fit fine as I am usually leery about buying glasses without trying them on first. (I’ve got high cheek bones).

    Thank you again!!

  42. Dani

Hi does anybody have a code for New Mexico they are not going to use? The site says there are still 1200 codes still available but it won’t give me one. My daughters really need glasses and I can’t afford to get them for them. One daughter broke hers and the other’s lenses are really scratched. Thanks you.

  43. Stacy

I have a code for VA. Must be used tonight. Shipping – $15- was higher then my glasses copay would be.
