I did this last time and had no idea how to redeem it.

Nicole, what are you having trouble with? Maybe we can help. Don’t post your codes, but did you get your email? Did you receive your codes?

    • Michelle

I’ve done it before, and you should probably print out your Groupon voucher. They have the five codes listed at the bottom. I put the whole paper in my purse, and then when I redeemed one I would mark it out so I knew which ones I had left. Before you check out it has a button somewhere that says “use promo code” or something like that, that’s where you put the code in.

Wow! I really appreciate the free code list. Even if only a few work, that’s awesome. Our Safeway just got a new Blockbuster machine. We are usually redbox fans. Yaay.

  3. Ms Terri

I’ve rented like 5 movies and the codes always work-was never billed for a single one!

Used a code for the first time Saturday. Worked like a charm! There was a slight wait at the kiosk, as everyone else was also buying a snack at Publix and renting a movie for the evening. Love the instant gratification vs. waiting for Netflix shipping. I cancelled when they raised the price and never looked back. By the way, if anyone is thinking about signing up for the Netflix instant view, don’t waste your money. The collection is full of old TV shows and quite a few have technical glitches.

I agree with Irene. Everything I look up a movie they dont have it. Even the good old movies they dont have. They carry the sequels which usually are gay.

I would actually have to disagree with the concept of doing Netflix streaming. If you pay for satellite or cable it would be a waste of money, but we don’t. And only $8/mo for an endless supply of my kids’ favorite shows and others my husband and I enjoy are worth it. And typically newer movies are available on streaming about two months after they’re available on DVD – it’s usually for a limited time, but we’ve generally liked the selection (and we use free or grouponed Blockbuster rentals for movies we just can’t wait to see on DVD).

I agree with Angela R. We do not have any type of cable/ satellite service. We get the basic local stations. We did have Netflix DVD/streaming, but dropped the DVD when they raised their prices. The streaming is great for my kids. They are able to watch a plethora of kids t v show programs they enjoy and usually aren’t able to view unless we go to the library to borrow them.

i agree too; i don’t have cable or satellite and can’t pick up the local networks (i’ve tried lots of ways to no avail). i have a roku box and watch netflix on my tv often. there’s plenty of good content (although like cable/satellite/network, there’s plenty of crap too). plus i can watch it when i want and pause it if need be.

i encourage anyone without cable/satellite to check out roku. the prices start at $59; i got one with the usb port for $99 so i can watch my own clips and view photos stored on my usb drive. i don’t use that feature often; the basic box is definitely worth the money. their newscaster features news programs from all the networks and cable; pandora; crackle; cdn2 (university lectures from Berkeley, Yale, and more); crunchyroll (anime); flickr; picasa; lots of international channels; lots of spiritual channels; lots of special interest channels; and more. there are also some private channels like cnn and youtube (just go to the roku forum to find out how to add private channels; some gather the feeds of shows that are free to view on the web, but with roku you can watch them on tv). i’ve had my box for almost a year & love it!

  6. Trisha

Thanks so much for the free code list Collin! Also, over the weekend I used the code ROCKNROLL and it worked perfectly. I think it expires 10/9. 🙂

    • Rochelle

Thanks for the additional code!! I love the ones with a longer expiration date.

  7. Kelly K

I have tried and tried to use codes posted at my local box and they are never accepted;(

I saw this deal on Groupon last year, and was so excited to get a good deal on movies. BUT I didn’t know about the free codes. There are literally codes every day….so it just seems silly to pay $2 when they could be free. I’ve rented over 20 movies in the past few months…all FREE thanks to codes. As long as you return them by 9pm the following day, you are never charged. I was telling everyone about the Groupon deal, but now I tell them about the codes. Just one less thing to pay for! Now if only there was a code for free popcorn. 😉

    • Rochelle

Where do you find the codes – just from blogs or is there a central site?

      • kit

i’ve seen them before on the slick deals website.
