Does anyone else have issues using internet coupons at Kmart? One cashier wouldn’t let me (said it was against their coupon policy), but I can’t find the ‘official’ Kmart coupon policy anywhere.

    • gurlmp

I had a problem with internet coupons at my local kmart also. The cashier used my internet coupons no problem with my first trans but with my 2nd one the other cashier said they dont take them at all. Than one cashier said yes they can use one internet coupon soo I dont think they even know the policy.

      • casie

If the coupon will scan they will take it, if not they wont

        • lisa

Here is the funny part to that. My very last straw with them was the zip lock deal week. They gave out “spend $30.00 on groceries (no beauty, etc.) and get $5.00 off. When I checked out it was all grocery, exceeded $30.00 and the COUPON WOULD NOT SCAN! I came directly from the register receipt so riddle me this Batman. So, the next time they treat you like a fast freddy trying to “slide” by some corrupt coupon remember that even their own coupons do not scan.

  2. Heather

I haven’t, and I have seen signs up in my Kmart stating that they DO take internet coupons. Maybe try another Kmart? Easier said then done, I’m sure.

    • Mandy B

I’ll keep my eyes peeled for those signs. I think it’s weird that they wouldn’t – especially considering that they offer internet coupons on their website! I think that clerk probably didn’t know what he was talking about, but it’s hard to say anything without a coupon policy to pull out, ya know?

  3. Kari

    Since when Kmart sells meat?

    • Anna

dn’t khat either. I’m wondering what quality it is and it it has that pink slime in it.

      • Holly G

        pretty sure it does.

    • Heather

Yea, I agree with the other posters. Ick on meat. I buy all mine from the local meat locker, it’s cheaper then even walmart and the quality is far superior.

    • hazylazysusan

      That was my reaction, exactly.

    • Dave

K-Mart ground beef has a label on the underside of the container reading “Cargill Meat Solutions Corp.” Cargill is a manufacturer of “pink slime” so you know ground beef supplied by Cargill is going to have pink slime in it.

Sorry for the “off topic” approach. But did anyone get in the shrimp deal at Whole Foods last week. I bought a two pound bag of the frozen. Just cooked some and it is the best I have had for a long time. It actually had a sea fresh taste (if you know what I mean). Wish I had bought a lot more — I was hesitent because it was farmed. Nest time I will definitely stock up.

    • irene

It’s amazing how much better real food tastes! I just bought some pasteurized milk (not homogenized) from a local farm from the farmer’s market and it tastes so good! All this time, we’ve been used to the flavorless grocery store variety!

      • Lori

We’ve been getting fresh milk from a farm too and love it! Makes store milk taste like water. 🙂

    • Angela

Aww man! I live in New Orleans so we have access to reasonably priced FRESH shrimp all of the time. I hesitated to buy at the WF deal because I thought the shrimp wouldn’t taste fresh. But the little extra cost for quality frozen shrimp is worth not having to peel fresh shrimp. They would have made for a quick shrimp salad or omelets on Easter Sunday. I hope the deal comes around again.

      • hazylazysusan

        I hate peeling shrimp.

  5. Emily

Will be trying this tomorrow with the coupon! Anyone know the quality of kmarts meat?

  6. angel

thats the meat they sell at target..its very good!

  7. Savings Viking

I would be careful of this ground chuck. Most stores who are selling ground chuck and ground beef are marking it down and making really good deals on it because there has been so much backlash against the pink slime. However, the stuff they’re selling still has the pink slime in it; they’re marking it down and doing deals like this so they can get rid of the stock they already have. If you don’t want your ground beef or chuck with pink slime in it, be very careful. Right now might not be the best time to buy ground beef/chuck.

  8. TEri

@Mona…I took advantage of the Whole Foods shrimp $5.99lb deal….and yes, they were So FRESH tasting…I am now budgeting to shop at WF more often….KMart + Meat = PINK SLIME…LOL

    • Mona

Me too, I am going to try buying more stuff at Whole Foods, And maybe I will try some of that milk that Irene said was good. I am such a skin flint and I need to break away from the norm. I bought a family pack of ground beef at Randalls (Safeway) a week or so ago and I am looking at pitching it. I”ll bet it has the PS in it. I am going to try and use less but get better quality. I am grateful for this site for alerting me to the Whole Foods deal otherwise I would not have dreamed of trying it. Thanks again.

      • Savings Viking

I bought 6 lbs worth of pink-slimed ground beef from Wal Mart two weeks ago (I didn’t know it had the pink slime in it when I bought it!). I threw every bit of it out. We’re never buying stuff like that again.

  9. Kat

With all of the great deals at Kmart lately and the double coupons I decided to go to Kmart and give coupons a try and it was an utter nightmare!!!! They argued and argued with me that when a coupon says “one coupon per purchase” that means you can only use one like coupon per transaction. I pointed out that some of the coupons stated, “One coupon per purchase, limit 4 like coupons per shopping trip” and they agreed to let me use those, but said if it doesn’t say another number of how many you can use, then it must mean ONE. It was awful and I wanted to just say, Forget it! But I was using some FREE item coupons and they had already written on them and I told them that I wouldn’t be able to re-use those somewhere else since they had been written on, so they kindly offered to WHITE OUT the writing and I said, NO that is altering the coupon, can I please speak with a manager? She called a manager, who gladly scanned all of the coupons without issue. Now I feel horrible and I know I was using those coupons properly but I’m almost ashamed to go back. 🙁

    • justice

This is the same reason I DO NOT shop at K-mart. When other K-marts have good sells or double coupons the one here in tifton ga, will not honor those sells. I take my ad to wal-mart to get the sells (not the meat ones, DO NOT like wal-mart meat).

    • lisa

The store brings out the very worst in me as they are ALWAYS a hassle that leaves me wondering why I bothered. Last double coupon event I ended up telling the cashier to keep everything and just bought the zip lock bags. If it were FREE I would not go back.

  10. Shanna

I want to go get this deal, but the pink slime comments have me scared and scared for the meat I have in my freezer now, got them on mark dwn 🙁

  11. Bre

Pink slime or not I am grabbing this deal. “Pink slime” hasn’t killed me or made me sick yet so I refuse to be a part of the hype. It means more meat for me at a great deal =)

    • Leslie

      Amen!!

    • Savings Viking

You are aware that the pink slime has chemicals in it that can lead to all sorts of health problems, right? There’s a reason there’s such a backlash against it right now. It’s not like people aren’t wanting to buy it simply because the idea is gross. Would you feed your children food that came in BPA-treated containers, knowing that not only does BPA cause cancer, but it causes insulin and hormone related problems? Would you feed your children produce that has been treated with Round-Up, a known carcinogen that causes cancer and reproductive issues? Then why would you feed them meat that’s been treated with ammonium hydroxide?

Or are you a shill for Cargill Meat?

      • Kara

I’ll bet all the people who won’t eat the pink slime meat have no issues putting chemical laden diapers with known cancer causing agents (aka Pampers and Huggies) on their kids! There’s always something…

      • Jay

        Enjoy your diet coke…

        • Crystal

Right!! I have a friend who is a Mortician and he says that he can tell if people drank Diet Coke/Pepsi just by LOOKING when he does his, ahem, Mortician work. It’s crazy to me how some (not pointing to anyone here – just making a general statement) can totally overreact about one thing while sitting in a fast food drive-thru or using make-up/hair products – have you ever really looked at what goes into some of that stuff??

    • Crystal

I totally agree with you!! We ate it 6 months ago – it isn’t gonna hurt us anymore today than it did then! If those who are making such a big deal about it only knew the things they are eating =)

  12. Olivia

    Shanna,
USA Food is very regulated. If there really was anything wrong with it. IT WOULD not be sold!!! People that drink Pink drinks at Star bucks are eating small insects. If we ate more meat in my house I’d be doing this deal. Being all Green or Organic isn’t a realistic goal for all of us and be rest assured USA does regulate their food.

    • Anonymous

Actually, the FDA is not as good as you think 🙁 We pay tons of money in taxes and trust it to regulate medicine, food, beauty products for us, but they have “partnerships” with certain companies/brands. Research Monsanto if you have time.

      • Lindsey

I love this comment and couldn’t agree more. Watch Food, Inc for more info.

I tried shopping at Kmart last week for some of the good catalina deals. A nightmare, like always. Every employee has a different take on how the deals will work, there was no one working at the cash registers (where the catalina machines are), a bunch of employees standing around. They had to call someone off their break to run the registers(apparently the only employee that knows how to run a checkout lane…??). I was so upset by the time I left!

    • irene

How are they still in business?! All the stores near me have closed years ago. Dinosaurs!

  14. Brandy

There meat is NOt good!!! We bought that deal and it was the worst meat/!!!

  15. Melissa

I go to Kmart maybe twice a year but I went last week for the ziplock bags catalina. I still have a $2 catalina and I don’t want to go back!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

    • lisa

Sounds like me:) Sometimes I marvel at how they are still in business

  16. kathy

It’s so sad that most celebrities trust kmart to have their own line at Kmart. e.g martha stewart. They are good in getting endorsements but they don’t train their employee and they don’t update their stores. They need a major makeover. You will be surprise how good quality they have in their stores now like Sofia Vergara shoes. To die for!!!! And price is amazing for the quality. I was there last night to buy the deal but i end up being there for 2 hours. They have some good shoes this season.

    • lisa

The shoes and clothes are both super cute this season. It is just a shame that I hate myself for shopping there. Get some educated on their jobs employees with some customer care skills and maybe people would notice the shoes:)

    • Steph

I have heard many people say great things about their shoes recently. Kinda makes me want to go!
