Happy Friday: Creative & Frugal Teacher’s Gifts
Sent from Tera over at Adventures in Mommy-Hood:
With all the free pens available in the weeks leading up to the beginning of school, I bet a lot of your readers are like me: fully stocked up. In fact, I even skipped some of the free ones recently because I wasn’t sure what I would do with them. But my sister in law, inspired by the teacher gift I made using the cheap markers I picked up using a coupon at Walmart, came up with this fun teacher gift using pens. I just *love* puns 🙂
Both of these ideas can be adapted to fit pretty much any situation. And I can guarantee that a gift of markers or pens will be appreciated and used by your favorite teacher!
HAPPY FRIDAY! 😀

Love it! What a neat idea!
This is such a CUTE idea! *stealing*
LOVE THIS!!! And, as a teacher, would love to get this from a kiddo!!!!
GREAT IDEA!
Stealing also!
My daughter’s teacher passed out crayons to the class with a note that said “looking forward to a COLORFUL year!”
I thought that was really cute!
🙂
That’s a great idea!
my son’s kindergarten teacher gave every student in the class a little container of play-dough with a little sticker that said, Kindergarteners are like play-dough you can shape them and mold them into all kinds of wonderful things. thought it was cute.
So cute! As a teacher I love getting gifts any time of the year (lol), but they are especially fun and “lift your spirits” when given at unexpected times … Halloween, Valentine’s Day, etc. I’ll bet the teachers loved them!
Genius! Love it!
I had a parent about 2 years ago (I taught 1st grade) that gave me little gifts like this throughout the entire year—anonymously. She (or her daughter) would slip it on my desk or against the chalkboard and they were never signed. It was completely random–sometimes twice a week and sometimes twice a month. At the end of the year, the student wrote a sweet note saying the gifts were from her and her mom. I later learned from her mom that she was a Couponer, and that’s what got me started! Those little gifts just made my day, just the thought that someone cared enough to bother. My favorite was Men’s shower gel (I forget what kind) with a note that said “This is because boys smell and Mommy says you’re married.” I laughed so hard my stomach hurt! I then showed it around to the other teachers, who also got a good laugh out of it!
Thanks to all those that think of teachers. We appreciate it!
look how many thrifty teachers there are (of course)! as a teacher, i say, thanks, and how creative! 🙂
Since I don’t have kids and I sometimes wind up with free pens and Sharpies, I take them to my favorite animal shelter because those items are on their donation “wish list.” I encourage all of you to see what the organizations in your area need because I’ve been able to donate free peanut butter (to give the dogs medication), cheap hot dogs for volunteer snacks, extra cleaning supplies, and cat treats that I’ve scored for free.
Very cute idea! 🙂
