Hip2Save This Holiday: Be Sure to Check Your Receipts for Coupons, Contest Entries, & More
Hip2Save This Holiday Guest Post Submitted By Reader Micaela…
Always check the bottom of your receipts before you toss them! Many companies offer an incentive for you to take their survey and let them know how they are doing or what they could do better. And from working in retail – they really do look at these surveys so give your honest opinion. After one shopping trip I had several receipts with offers on them and just to name a few…
*Sephora – FREE entry into a $250 gift card drawing
*Krispy Kreme – buy one dozen get another dozen free
*Walmart – entry for one of five $1,000 gift cards
*Bath and Body Works – $10 off $30 purchase
*Victoria’s Secret – $10 off $50 purchase
*Gap – 20% off one regularly priced item
*Sonic – $1 off your next $3 purchase
All this just for taking a survey! The surveys don’t take very long and offer a huge reward in the end! Make sure you have your receipt handy in case any information is needed from it and keep it in case you have to write a validation code on it. Some stores may actually send you an email with a coupon.
If you don’t think you will spend the amount needed at a particular store, take the survey anyway and give it to a friend. One of my favorite things to do is give it to someone shopping at the store. It really does make their day! Do note that many of these surveys have to be taken within the next few days after your purchase, so don’t forget to do them! Make sure you take them along with you on your next shopping trip too!
(The survey my sidekick, Mary, received on her receipt after purchasing a Chick-Fil-A Cow Calendar!)

many stores get ‘graded’ by their corporate office solely dependent on the survey results so make sure to take them —– especially if you had a good experience!!!! too many times only the complaints are reported, not the praise! 🙂
As an employee of Gap I can confirm this. It really means alot to the employee and store when customers take the survey. As employees, we get rewarded if someone mentions our name in the comment (if its good of course :)) section of the survey. Thank you to everyone that takes the time to take the surveys!!!
My favorite is the survey for a free side at Panda Express. My daughter is 5 and the 2 entree plate at Panda is enough for both of us. When I have these completed surveys I am able to add an additional item for FREE! As a matter of fact, we were there last night (break from cooking 🙂 ) and I pointed out to my husband that they were changing their prices as we sat there and ate. The ad-on sides went up from $1.25 to $1.49 so consider this a high value coupon.
I just got one for Starbucks today! 🙂 Always get your receipts!
My Boston Market gives a BOGO on individual meals coupon for the next Saturday after your purchase. I just got one today that’s valid on Saturday 11/10. No survey response required. (the coupon is on the bottom of the receipt)
Famous Dave’s will often give you a coupon code for a free dessert on your next visit for taking a brief survey. Definitely worth it!
I’ve gotten free chicken sandwiches from Chick-fil-A from the receipts!
Wal-greens and Dollar General have surveys as well. Wendy’s, Arby’s, and Chili’s also have one. 🙂
white castle gives you 3 free hamburgers for taking their survey
Don’t forget to upload your qualifying receipts to the Receipt Hog app to earn money!
Ooh! never heard of it! Will try!
What is receipt hog?
Dunkin Donuts also has an offer for a free donut wyb a medium or large drink on the bottom of their surveys as well! 🙂
I do this one all the time!
Sometimes Moe’s has two dollars off.
I LOVE Moes 🙂
I always take the surveys on my receipts 🙂 I’ve never actually won any of the giveaways .. YET!
My brother used to work at Best Buy and they had actually THREE different customers while he worked there who won the $5000 shopping spree from those surveys!! So keep doing them – you never know! 🙂
I just got one from Body Shop $15 dollars off a $50 purchase….unlike the groupon I just bought, it IS good on Black Friday!
Kroger does them too.
Dollar tree has surveys on their receipts too. you can instantly win a prize (I never have) but I believe you also get entered into a drawing for a bigger prize as well
I’ve gotten several from Ace Hardware stores for $10 off of $25 (and it tends to roll, so when I use the coupon, ANOTHER one will print on the next receipt, and so on, and so on). Also, Payless shoe stores constantly have one on the bottom where you can get $2 off your next purchase – the store in my area has alot of nail polishes and lotions and things that are priced at $2, so you can get a completely free item, and this one tends to roll as well, so you get another $2 off on your next receipt. I can’t tell you how many free items I’ve gotten from that store!
The free chick-fil-a sandwich coupon when you complete their survey does not come on your receipt when you purchase the calendar. It is totally random. I personally get them all the time, but I also eat Chick-fil-a all the time. Thought I would comment so no one is disappointed when they don’t get a coupon after they purchase a calendar
Burger King offers free sandwich when u take the survey
I never throw away receipt w/o looking at it first. U never know what u will get. I’ve gotten so many free drinks from sonic just by doing their surveys. 🙂 old navy also gives you 10% off too when you do their surveys.
Old Navy has 10% off your whole purchase and Express is 15% off!
I try to always take the Target, Rite Aid, Walgreens and CVS surveys. But sometimes I forget. These are also random and not printed on every receipt. Plus, you can only do 3 surveys per month for Rite Aid (although I swear I did 4 this month before they cut me off).
I love doing the Bath and Body Works survey because the $10 off $30 dollar coupon never expires! I then use them when the 3 wick candles (normally $20 each) go on sale 2 for $20. I buy 3 candles for $20 bucks and usually get another survey. These candles make great gifts all year long and at a little over $6 each, very inexpensive.
