Are the Staples Rewards like Register Rewards, they give you the money “back” but you have to spend it on additional items in order to redeem?
Can you roll staples rewards? As in if I pay for an item with rewards previously earned will I still get the rewards back?
I was wondering this too. Not even on the same items, but if you received rewards on lets say binders a few months ago and now buy paper with the rewards, will you earn the paper rewards this time too?
I’m wondering the same thing….I purchased AA batteries 2-3 weeks ago with reward dollars and new reward dollars did not show up in my account…..
Hi
I have the same question.I have $40 staples rewards
So I would like to use it on the following
Staples Photo Plus 4″x6″ Paper
Staples 10 Pack Cardboard Economy Storage Boxes
Avery Heavy Duty View Binders
Can someone explain how it works
Thanks in advance
I too would like to know if the roll.
This is how Staples works…
If you purchase a “Staples Rewards” item, you can NOT roll it onto another “Staples Rewards” item & get “Staples Rewards” back….BUT you can get use the “Staples Rewards” on a “Staples Easy Rebate” which are “easy”. I do it all the time w/ NO problems! ;).
“Staples Rewards” are not instant like a “Register Reward” from Walgreens. You can print them from an online account or wait for them in the mail. If there are no “Staples Easy Rebates” I want I use the “Staples Rewards” on ink.
“Staples Easy Rebates” are mailed in a check format to cash at the bank…..there “might” be another way to get the rebates, but I have always had a check mailed.
I hope this has helped answer some of the questions everyone has.
There is paypal
No , you will Not get rewards back if you purchase with rewards.
How does the $5 coupon affect the rebate or rewards?
Can you use staples rewards to buy a rebate item?
YES you can use “Staples Rewards” on a “Staples Rebate”& get the full rebate amount in a check. Keep in mind the “Staples Rewards” are not instant like Walgreens or CVS.
Yay! Thanks so much!
Like Jaclyn said, you can use a “Staples Rewards” on “Staples – Easy Rebates” and get your money back. However, you can NOT use a “Staples Rewards” on another “Staples Reward”. If you do, you will NOT get your money back the Staples Rewards to Staples Reward is seen like a coupon. (I learned the hard way).
Does anyone know if I can use the 20% off for 1 break room item in conjunction with the $5/$25 break room coupon??
No. The terms on the coupon specifically state that each coupon is not to be used with another.
That is not true, you can use the 20% 1 Item AND the $5/25 together. The register will accept (1) % off coupon and (1) $/$$ off type coupon.
From what I understand the $5 coupon will be subtracted from the rewards. You can use rewards on rebate items and get money, but you can not roll rewards its treated like a coupon even if you are buying different items. I try to build mine up and use for household items like toilet paper, napkins, paper towels when they go on sale. The rewards can be stacked with both manufacturer and store coupons. You just can not earn rewards when redeeming a reward. HTH.
Yes, Staples coupons will always be deducted from the Rewards amount you get back. However, manufacturer coupons can be used (when appropriate) and no reduction in Rewards will occur. For example, when the Duracell batteries were free after rewards I would use Duracell manufacturer coupons all the time to bring down my OOP amount, but I would always get the full selling price back in Rewards.
Manufacture coupons DO reduce the amount of the reward. I bought the batteries and used a manuf. Coupon awhile back, just so I would have a smaller reward amount to use.
does this mean i can buy $25 of free after rewards stuff and $5 worth of other stuff, use the coupon $5/$25 and basically get everything for free (after the rewards of course)?
Yes! That’s how I try to do it. I never have any problems using these coupons on rebate items.
They prorate the coupon over all the items so u wont get the full reward
The $5 Staples coupon will definitely be prorated between all the items in 1 purchase, so the extra $5 in items would cost you something.
I’m looking for ink!
Personally ebay is the best way to get ink. I buy the reusable cartridges. They are just as good and 75% less than staples.. i buy my paper only when theres a deal at staples. I use my rebates to pay for it then get another rebate after to pay for the next ream.
That’s exactly what I do Reesa, been buying ink and refillable cartridges for 9 yrs on ebay and only getting paper when it’s a $1 or less per ream. I also print in black ink only on fast print saving me a major amount of mooooola !
Can someone please tell me how to change my printer to only print black and white for coupons? THANK YOU!
i switched over to refillable ink and it messed up my $100 printer, never got it to work again even after i switched back to new brand name ink
What a great time to stock up on business supplies for the new year. I’d like to get just about everything on the list. $1 paper and FREE photo paper?!?! Just in time. I ran out of paper the other day and need to stock up again.
Does anyone know if the Rewards get split up into say $10 or $20 amounts or will I get a huge $100 single reward certificate for all the batteries I bought during December? On that same note, if I buy these things on 1/2, will it count for Dec or Jan reward month? TIA!
Each time Staples Rewards are issued (which is once a month) they give you the total split into two Reward coupons and it is almost never split 50/50, So if you have a huge Rewards amount coming to you you will probably have pretty hefty Rewards coupons coming to you. These Rewards can only be used twice. That means the first time you use it if you don’t use the entire Rewards coupon they will issue you a balance coupon (with the same expiration date as the original one) and this balance coupon must be used in full or else you will lose any remaining money on that Rewards coupon. If you find your two Rewards coupons are not split somewhat evenly you can call Staples Rewards and they can reissue them with a closer split. The one thing I like about Staples Rewards (over say Office Depot Rewards) is that Staples Rewards take off the tax on items you buy using the Rewards (Office Depot taxes you twice…once on the original purchases to get the Rewards and another time when you actually use their Rewards). So if easy and convenient to use your Staples Rewards to cash out on free after Staples Easy Rebate items as you will not have any tax due. Often times, Staples has free after rebate anti-virus software with limits of more than 1 (sometimes 10!) so it is not too hard to cash out big Rewards checks. But as a warning do NOT use your Staples Rewards to buy other Rewards giving items, if you do you will not get the full amount back in Rewards, just your OOP amount (before tax of course). Staples Rewards should only be used to buy Staples Easy Rebate items if you are looking to cash out your Rewards.
If you buy things on 1/2/13 it will count for your February 2013 Rewards. Anything you buy in a certain month will get your Rewards issued the next month, usually the second or third week of the month I believe.
So Daniel if I buy lets say the staple tote on DEC. 30th 2012 I wont be getting my Rewards until February? I have never done rewards or rebates before……new at this help lol
No, if you bought soemthing that gives Rewards in the month of December (anytime in the month) then you will get your Rewards about the second or third week of January. You will see the Rewards posted to your account usually with 4 or 5 days but they won’t become available for you to print out and use until the time I said.
Does anyone know if these items will be available on-line or are they just in store? I just received a coupon in the mail yesterday for an on-line purchase and this would be a terrific time to use it. TIA!!
So we can use both the 20 percent and 5/25?? And is the 5/25 before coupons?
No. You can not use both coupons, since the terms on the coupons specifically state that no other coupons can be used wih each.
again, this is WRONG info. You can use BOTH 20% off 1 item AND the $5/25 coupon.
Use the $5/$25 coupon on Sunday and your 2 photo papers and 1 ream of copy paper are free (except for sales tax of course).
Ok so you can’t roll “rewards” but for Easy Rebates when you redeem them you have a choice of a staples gift card or Paypal? Can you roll those into other offers? I don’t see how they could track that, especially with the Paypal option. Any advice?
I don’t think you would have a problem with the Paypal option but I was wondering the same thing because I have a Staples issued gift card from a previous rebate or reward offer (don’t remember).
Thanks Collin. Some great deals here.
Watch your mail, too–just got a $10 off a 20 dollar in store purchase this week. I plan on getting. 4 of the copy papers. Nice money maker!
Is copy paper ok to use to print coupons on?
yes, its what I use.
Where is the 5 off 25 coupon?
Most times the 5/25 coupon is in the Sunday Paper only. They won’t print it in the in store flyer. Some rewards members will have this coupon available online in their “coupon wallet” in their staples rewards account.
you can print out the $5/25 Collin shows in her post. All the cashier needs is that 5 digit number to enter it in the system (even if the barscan is fuzzy and doesn’t scan) the 5 digit code will suffice.
• Don’t forget, if you are any level staples rewards member you get 5% off instantly with your purchase.
• The 100% rewards deals state they are IN STORE ONLY. You can use coupons and rewards on these items, but your rewards back will be reduced in value by the amount in coupons/rewards you use.
• Spend $1,000 in one year and earn premier status, which doubles the redemption period of rewards, doubles the amount to ink carts you can recycle for $$, and allows perks and coupon specials regular rewards members do not get.
Again, some incorrect info I must chime in on: The Avery Binders that are free after rewards ARE INDEED online as well, and free ship at $20. There may be other items online too but the Avery Binders are the only ones I’m sure of. You can’t always go buy whats stated in an ad or on a coupon.
do you know the SKU for the binders?
Ok how do i do the rebates never done them……?
On your sales receipt it will explain the process, but simply put you can either mail them in or you can do it online. I recommend doing it online. The website for Staples rebates is http://www.stapleseasyrebates.com.
It seems like my local Staples in Queens, NYC DOES NOT have the $5/$25 in-store ad coupon. I asked a staff personnel about the cpn and he said I can ask Customer Service to print the online ad for me. Then for the $1 copy paper it is actually $3 with a $4 rebate. Customer Service even double checked for me and said there is a misprint for the current ad. Also the $2 Staples Stickies is smaller than the one shown on the ad (1″ 3/4 x 1″ 7/8). Staff were very helpful and also found it odd that sale items did not match the ad. I’m hoping it’s just my location and others don’t have this problem.
Usually when they come out with a $5/$25 coupon you will only find it in the Sunday paper you get at home (home delivery of your paper). When you go to the store, often times the coupon is not in their in-store circular. This is because the purpose of the coupon is to motivate you to go our to a Staples store, but once you are there they have little need to motivate you to come anymore since you are already there. As for the ream copy paper that is on sale (limit 4 reams). I bought it yesterday and the price (pre-coupon) was $6.99 and I got a $5.99 Staples Easy Rebate. I am talking about the Hammermill ream paper mind you. I am not sure why the Staples Stickies are smaller than the one shown on the ad, That is strange.
Thanks Daniel for the clarification! I’ll keep that in mind for the future. I really like Staples and hope to keep shopping there. All the other coupons shown online were included on their in-store circular except the $5/$25 coupon. The Hammermill Ream Paper is showing $2.99 final cost with a $3.99 Rebate at my local store. I guess it’s just my location.
I received two staples rewards. Can I use them at the same time with one transaction?
