This made me lol! Breastfeeding isn’t for everyone, whether it is latch issues, supply issues, or just not for some women; sometimes I think people forget that fact. I was fortunate enough to nurse both of mine up to a year. However, there isn’t anything wrong with formula. I even used some from time to time 😉
😉 – I breast fed 3 of my kids exclusively- it was great. I loved it- cheap, no dishes, etc! The rest of my herd though is formula fed. Not because I don’t care, or don’t love them, or am lazy or whatever else people think of formula moms but because I simply can’t breastfeed them. And you know what? That’s ok. Heck, we’re ALL near raw vegans after formula/boob milk. But you don’t see me being all “don’t forget about the almond milk” on the dairy posts, hehe
Breast feeding is the way easier option, but not the only option!

Similac will also send you a welcome home kit (like they give in the hospital) if you’re going to do a homebirth or birth center birth. I used a little formula (less than a few bottles) while my milk was coming in. As a second time mom, I decided to give her a little bit instead of hearing her cry (breast first then a bottle). The sample was PERFECT and I didn’t have to spend any money on formula for those two days. I was able to give the checks to a friend.

Of course breastfeeding isn’t for everyone, but although there are tv, and print ads for formula, there is nothing for breastfeeding. I didn’t decide til the day my daughter was born. I just want to spread the word that it was the best decision I made. It’s hard to compete with the pretty babies on the formula commercials.
Well the engouraged boobs and leaky nipples are kinda a good advertisement! LOL There are loads of PSAs and such encouraging breast feeding. Heck- there are even billboards here

Some states are moving to or have banned ads for formula. Grinds my gears- I want to see the different types of packaging, the added benefits of certain brands, etc!
I got mine in the mail last week! I’ve always had to supplement with my babies. Thank you Thank you! baby will be here in about 3 weeks, plus using the free Shutterfly book for my pregnancy journal that is on there. I’m such a Shutterfly addict as well. Love it!
