The Xbox One Console is currently available on Amazon for $499.99. I am not a gamer and truly have no clue about this deal. LOL! But I think this is popular and sells out quickly based on other posts I’ve done.

(Thanks, Heather!)

Question. The older model is only $199.99, will games no longer be made for the older model? Thanks

For PS3, yes. They will probably make them for at least another year.

I need to read better. You asked about Xbox! We’re a Playstation house so I’m not sure about Xbox. Sorry!

    • Stephanie

Games will be made for the 360 for maybe another year or two. The Xbox ONE is a different console and also will not play 360 games.

Same here, but I usually buy 1-2 consoles to bring abroad when I visit my family to sell for a reasonable profit and I have been waiting for the PlayStation 4 to be back in stock. I went a few days after release date and casually ask a salesperson for one and he thought I was joking…he was like: you are not a gamer, right? 😉

They are supposedly not going to release all games for the Xbox 360 but I haven’t seen them actually say they won’t be releasing games for the 360 anymore. We looked into it and Xbox one really isn’t a great idea. They’re trying to move to downloadable games so you don’t get an actual disk, can’t resell it, etc. it’s a moneymaking thing. Any games you have for the 360 won’t work on the one. We’re just buying a new 360 to have as backup and sticking with that.

There’s one running in our local newspaper for $1000! People are crazy. My boys will wait until the newness wears off.

xbox 360 will be supported for 2 more years. The newer games will be released for xbox one only unless the game was already in production. If you have a gamer in the house the newer console is a must. If you have younger kids that haven’t played many of the games then an xbox 360 is still ok but stock up on the games now as the stores will fazing them out. Gamestop should carry games for xbox360 for at least another year or so. hth non gamers The same will be true for ps3 versus ps4

Thank you!! This is what my son is hoping for! I’m so excited to be able to surprise him on Christmas because he knows they are out of stock everywhere.

  9. Emm

Awesome! Have been waiting for one to be available to get for my husband for Xmas. They do sell out fast and while I don’t think this is a discounted price, it’s the regular price and you’re not going to get a discount on these for awhile 🙂

Thanks for all the input about the older model Xbox Hipster’s! I guess I will be forced for fork out $500 for the new model.

Just a heads up to everyone – we bought an Xbox One on release day and it is plagued with bugs and Microsoft support is not very helpful about it. I would highly recommend waiting for the next release of the Xbox One consoles as they will likely be far superior as Microsoft will likely fix all the bugs.

I also got one on release day and it works perfectly. You’re gonna have a few bad eggs, its the nature of electronics. The 360 was the same way during its entire production. They tried to fix the bugs so many times and never did. My husband went through 6 or 7 360’s all plagued with that pesky red ring of death that supposedly was fixed.
