Hello, this is off topic, but has anyone ever tried the staples brand for school supplies?…stick glue ect..tia

    • Stephanie C.

I have used staples brand for pencils, glue, glue sticks, erasers, etc. They have all worked about the same as the name brand. The only product I have ever had a problem with were the three prong folders; the prongs come loose really easily sometimes. But if you are getting the item for a penny, it is no big deal 🙂

Thanks so much for the info!!!

When we were getting married last year, my husband picked out a ring similar to these, as he just needed something simple and somewhat similar in style to the ring he’d bought me. We paid about $30 at the time from Newegg and we thought THAT was a great deal! This is a steal! I might pick some up just as backups. 🙂

We got my husband a ring like this last year when we got married for around $30 and we thought THAT was a great deal. This is a steal! Might have to pick a couple up as backups 🙂

Just an FYI, I recently got married and my husband was looking at a titanium ring. The jeweler advised us that if you every seriously injure you hand to where the ring has to be removed, it can not be cut off with the standard jewelry cutters that are in hospitals. It will actually have to be sawed off. He recommended that we didn’t buy them. I asked “then why as a jeweler are you selling them?”, His response was “because people want what they want. I just warn them and the rest is up to them”.

My fiance’ and I were told the same thing! We went with palladium instead. I little more expensive but worth it to keep his fingers. ha!

    • E

We have bone saws readily available at the hospital. Ring cutters are a pain the butt anyway. My husband wears a titanium and we’re both ER docs lol

      • Kidsallgone

Wow! Great info! And especially like the fact that you took the time to share that! 🙂

        • E

I should state- I clearly don’t work in every ER ever, but I’ve worked at several. I’d imagine anywhere with a surgical team would have a bone cutter though. Smashing doesn’t generally turn out well anyway, but if there is major swelling from another injury such as a broken wrist or something then yes, the ring would need to be cut to save the finger. As Titanium becomes more and more popular there will be a better ring cutter available sooner than later. The ones we have now are really awful.

          Brooke- sorry, not me, TX!

You don’t happen to live in IN do you? My brother is good friends with husband and wife ER doctors and her name starts with an E.

      • Kathy

LOL. Good to know. Thanks. Maybe the titanium ring makers should let the jewelers know there is a way to get the rings off. Might boost their sales.

I know someone who’s finger swelled up so much from snagging it on something that they couldn’t cut the ring off but instead had to cut off his finger. I would never buy one of these rings just to be safe but to each his own, it’s a great deal.

Pretty sure it takes special/ very powerful equipment to engrave titanium rings, and most jewelers cannot do this. As mentioned in comments prior, titanium is wicked-hard stuff… can’t be cut off by standard jewelry cutters.

I ordered this ring when Tanga had their last deal for $12.99 to replace my husband’s wedding band, which had been slipping off from weight loss. We were so impressed with the quality!! He loves his ring! (More than his original $400 wedding band)

  7. Nancy

ER’s have saws to cut them off- but seriously how likely is it that you will need them to do this? In all of my years in the ER I have seen maybe 2 rings that needed to be cut off… Don’t let that keep you from getting this great deal.

    • E

Yeah that too! I was trying to think, I see maybe 3 or 4 a year and I’m at a major trauma center. I always call ortho down if I need to use something other than the ring cutter- I am deathly afraid of chopping someone’s finger off. I didn’t go into surgery for a reason!

    • Robyn

Well it CAN happen – it happened to my daughter who was 12 at the time. She didn’t even injure her hand, her finger just swelled due to hot weather and playing hard and we couldn’t remove the ring. Her finger started turning black. The ring cutter at our local ER could not cut the ring and I could tell the ER doc was starting to panic a little. He finally wrapped her finger very tightly with a string and was slowly able to yank the ring off. It was a terrible experience and so very traumatic for my little girl, who was sure her finger was going to have to be cut off. Nobody in my family will ever, ever own a ring like this again. Trust me when I say that some “great” deals really aren’t worth it!

I bought this ring (Titanium 10MM Half Round Polished Ring) a few years back for me to wear (female) and I love it. It is so comfortable to wear. =)

  9. stacy

I bought this for my husband last year and it was all scratched in one day.

  10. Ivan

You can’t resize titanium rings either. So if you gain or lose weight, you have to replace it. Just FYI…although this is an awesome deal.

  11. maddie

the code isn’t working for me?

  12. Donnis

got mine in the mail a few days ago! LOVE THEM! My hubby and I lost weight and cannot fit the originals. Also we are planning to renew next year and would rather wait until then to buy new fancy rings. I just ordered a second pair!
