Good morning, Collin. Have a blessed day.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Good Morning! You have a great day too, Betty! 🙂

  2. April Rose

Anyone know of a renewal deal @ Sams or a new one for Costco? TIA!

  3. elise

Has anyone been able to get this membership deal even though your old membership has expired? Tyia

    • ann

I was able to do this before off of an expired membership. In the past the fine print has just excluded those with a current active membership.

      • elise

Ok, but this one has something about 6 months.

  4. Val

My husband has a membership and I’m a user on it, but it’s about to expire. I’m wondering if I sign up with me as a primary if it will work. Has anyone tried that in the past? Did it work?

    • Julie M

You Must activate membership in club by 7/27/15

That means you can let your husbands membership run out (if it rns out before 7/27/15) , then you can use the voucher and sign yourself up for new acct using a different email address, same mailing address and give the 2nd card to your husband

  5. brandice

If mines has expired can I do this deal

    • Amanda M

That’s what I would like to know too! Ours expired a month ago!

      • Julie M

If your acct recently expired use a different email adddress when you redeem this voucher. The rules for ths promo state that you cannot be a member within 6 previous months from todays date. Sams club has your current email linked with your expired acct. When you redeeem the voucher with new email address it will not associate your previous membership.

    • Alley

I think if it has expired more than 6 months ago

Can anyone tell me how Sams organic options compare to Costco? I love Costco but moved where it’s an hour away, Sams is in my town. But I buy organic frozen goods, dairy etc from Costco…wondering if Sams has those options?

    • me

They carry organics, not really meat products

    • Lindsay

I have a sams membership and costco membership and I feel that Sam’s organic selection goes bad quickly. At least my Sam’s is like that. I have noticed Sam’s is trying to add more organic foods.

    • Susie

I have memberships at both Sams & Costco. If organic is your thing, you definately want Costco.

  7. Jenni

does Sams accept coupons like BJ’s?

    • A

They don’t accept manufacturer coupons, unfortunately 🙁

    • Susie

Sams does not accept manufacturer coupons, but they do have “instant savings” where the amount instantly comes off your total without using a paper coupon. I’ve found that ibotta offers for Sams often are for items that already have instant savings, thus doubling your savings. The Plus membership also comes with additional instant savings just for you that are very helpful. Those additional savings are loaded to your card automatically and come off your total at the register. An example of the Plus member additional savings in my account right now are $3 off ground beef, $3 off rotisserie chicken, $1 off bananas, $1 off grapes, $2 off bakery cookies, etc…the plus membership also pays rewards, I have $40 in cash rewards so far since November, when I started it with a deal like this.

Does anyone know how many cards you get? I would like
to share this with a friend.

    • me

      2

      • GiGI

        TY

I don’t have a Costco locally to compare but I think those kinds of items are probably less abundant at Sam’s. I have seen two packs of Horizon Organic milk there but I’m having a hard time recalling any other organic dairy products. They seem to be getting more and more healthy foods in bulk like chia and hemp seeds, higher end granola bars like kind bars, and healthier snacks like giant bags of the boom chicka pop popcorn. As far as frozen and perishable foods though – I don’t think they’re there yet.

  10. Louise williamson

I don’t think this is fair for long-time members who can’t afford the plus membership. We should be the preferred customers to qualify for offers like this.

    • Princess

I agree. I have been a plus member for years, and I feel that these types of offers should include renewals. I’ve been lucky enough to use a coupon from a savings book to get a $25.00 gift card with a new plus membership or renewal. It still doesn’t come close to these types of deals because it’s still $100.00 for plus.

    • CJ

I agree. Too many places don’t do anything to keep customers. I get annoyed about cell phone companies for the same reason. There are all these incentives to sign up with someone new & nothing to keep the same company.

  11. Momma

    Do they accept manufacture coupons?

    • Kathy

No, they do not accept manufacturers coupons.

  12. Neha

Too bad it is not for renewals😞

  13. Kay

Does anyone know if Costco ever runs a member special like this? Im kind of holding off in hopes they will. (I do not shop at Sams/wal mart) TIA if you know 🙂

    • Fran

I got a Costco membership maybe a year and a half ago either through Groupon or Living Social. It also had free items – a chicken, AA batteries, a case of bottled water, as well as a gift card.

    • Susie

Just looked at my Costco card. The date on it is 9/14. I used a groupon or living social voucher for it. I’ve shopped there once & even though it doesn’t expire until 9/15 I probably won’t use it again. Simply because it’s not as close as Sams. I did the price comparison and they’re very close to the same, which is good for you since you don’t shop SAMs / Walmart. Costco does have more organic items and are heavy on their house brand, Kirkland.

  14. Julie M

The voucher does not have a name on it so you can buy it and give it as a gift to anyone. It cannot be used until 4/24/15. It must be redeemed by 7/27/15 so if you have an acct expiring soon or just expired then you can sign up for new sam club acct with a new email address (you can still use your name and mailing address when creating new sams acct, just dont use the email acct associated with previous/current Sams Club acct) If you have an acct that will expire in the next few months then this is the best option for a PLUS membership that retails for $100 but with this deal you pay $45,get back $20 gift card and $23 in food items listed above. With the Plus membership you get $10 added into your sam club acct evertime your acct hits $500 spent. I never spend more than $100 oop at a time this past yr but it accumulated this past yr and we just got back $50. To make this deal even sweeter , shopathome.com is giving 10% cashbback .

You can go thru collins referral link or anyone here to sign up for groupon acct (then that person gets credit for referring you) then logout of groupon Login and go thru groupon link thru shopathome. You will get 4.5% CB from shop at home.come on top of what you get back from sams club, making it better than free after cash back, gift card and food voucher!!!

I used Collin’s link to sign up for groupon acct so she gets credit from me signing up.

Here is my groupon referral link if you want to sign up under me

    • Bridgette

The fine print states: Customer that redeems must match name of purchaser. So I dont think you can give it as a gift

      • Andrea

I think that means whoever takes the groupon certificate into the store to redeem it has to be the one getting the membership in their name. So you can buy the groupon and give it to someone else to redeem. The actual groupon certificate does not have a name on it. So anyone can redeem it.

  15. Kidsallgone

    Informative 👍👍👍
    Thanks!
Sticking with my regular Costco membership though; mostly because it’s closer. It almost seems worth it to get the SAMs deal because of the free $20 gift card and free items! Plus I could maybe give the card to my daughter and I haven’t lost any money ❤❤❤ Thanks for the great deal Collin!!!

  16. Tomoko

Thanks! 10% cash back if you go through shopathome.com today 🙂

  17. Ashley

Question my friend and I want to go half on the deal do you know how the second membership card works? do you have to put info on it or its just an extra card? have never been SAMs clubmember. Thank you in advance!

    • CJ

I have a membership under my name & listed my mom for the 2nd card. Each card has our individual name & photo on it. We don’t live in the same town & my mom had no problem going into her local Sam’s to get her card with photo, etc even though they’re both under my address.

  18. Lisa B

Telling me it’s no longer available 🙁

  19. Kay

I am very interested in this deal but I currently have a 60day free trial membership that will expire on 5/21/15. I have never actually had a permanent membership. Would I be able to apply for this membership after that Or would the same 6 month expired rule apply? I suppose I could always convince the hubby to get it in his name, if not.

    • Bell

I was going to ask the same thing:)

  20. Amy

I gave my second card to my Brother since my husband never shops at Sam’s without me and the account is in my name. I’ve never been questioned about not having same last names on the account.

  21. Sara

Wow, what a great deal! Our membership has been expired for year and a half or so. I contacted SAMs and they confirmed as long as your membership expired more than 6 months ago you can do this deal. Thanks, Colin for sharing.

  22. Leslee

I don’t especially like Sam’s and was going to let our membership expire, since we just got a Costco nearby, became members and are loving it. However, we found out about an amazing benefit to the Sam’s plus membership that will keep us members (although I’m not sure if I can take advantage of this particular deal to renew our membership). Sam’s plus members can get one of 5 generic prescriptions free every 30 days. We found out that one of my husband’s prescriptions is on this ‘free list’. We only have basic ‘catastrophic’ health insurance, so must pay out of pocket for prescriptions. This particular one has been $15 in the past. It suddenly jumped last month to $55+–generic version! By becoming Plus members, that prescription is now free, every month. So the $$ saved over a year is pretty obvious. (and galling, with regards to the capriciousness of this country’s insane medical costs, but that’s an argument for another day). In any case, we’ll remain Sam’s plus members just for this benefit alone, although I prefer to shop at Costco for the rest of our food items.

  23. julie

I did this deal, or something close to it a couple of years ago. The problem was, our Sam’s didn’t carry some of the food items that were promised. I never got half of the food that was stated. They wouldn’t compensate or substitute. It wasn’t worth it.

  24. Kristina

Any word if Sam’s will offer this group on again?? I bought this last year at this time, now my membership is up. Was hoping it would be around again at renewal…but I’m thinking maybe they planned it that way.
