Dollar General: Nice Deals on Purple Dot Items
Dollar General shoppers! Check out the email I received from Laura –

I got a Queen 4-pc. bed sheets for $9, 6-pk wash clothes for $1, decorative pillows for $3, hot pads for $0.37, bath towels for $0.93, shower curtains for $3, and decorative storage baskets for $3. Only one store in my area had it clearly posted. Once I saw the deal I visited the other 3 stores in my area and had to scour the aisles for the purple ticketed items and sure enough they rang up right! [/h2s_box]

Dollar general currently has a digital coupon for $4 off 3 crest or Colgate items. I bough 4 of the $1 tubes so I just had to pay the tax on all 4 tubes 🙂 no clipping necessary either! All you do is sign up for their digital coupons on their website and then at checkout just type in your phone number and your coupons will load 🙂

I just had a very embarrassing experience at my Dollar General. They had only a few items on the “purple dot” table and my item rang up 25% off but not the additional 50%. Also my digital crest toothpaste coupon wouldn’t work. I bought two $1 tubes and a $2 tube so it would come to $4. Thought that would make things smoother. Nope. Manager said digital coupons don’t always work, that I probably bought the wrong ones. People lined up behind me. One customer dumped her items and left. My husband was so embarrassed and wanted to disclaim me. I left the toothpaste, got the purple dot item for 50% off. My husband said he would rather pay for the toothpaste in the future than go through episodes like this to save money!
Was able to grab a pk of washcloths, set of sheets and 3 pot holders!! 😀

I passed on the shower curtain and bin. My store had lots of washcloths and kitchen towels/pot holders. No signs about the sale.
i asked at the register about the purple dot sale and she had no idea what i was talking about. can you give me any more information about the “purple dot”? also the toothpaste dead didn’t work for me, either.
When does this end? On Sunday? I stopped by one store and there were no signs. All the purple dot items were hidden behind a stack of merchandise waiting to be unpacked, so I had to do a lot of digging. I only found pot holders, kitchen towels, wash clothes (they rang up 75c, down from $3), plastic table cloths and I was able to find one of those cute pillows for $3. If you are unsure about this, just pick one item and ask the cashier to check the price for you, like I did.
