  I don’t think that’s true – my 85% height and weight baby boy was in it for 11 months. I stopped wanting to carry it around before he actually grew out of it…

  I would say buying these “infant” carseats are about personal preference. You can get the transforming ones that are good from birth to about age 4 but I preferred with my kids to have this style for the first year so I could just grab the seat with sleeping baby (which they were 90% of the time we got somewhere) and go! I wouldn’t trade the convenience or sleeping baby time for any money saved down the road. Plus in a year when you buy the rear facing to front facing seat there’s about a $100 difference in price if it is for approx 20 lbs and up instead of 5 lbs and up.

  Agree – we literally just moved our 80th percentile 10 1/2 month old to the new style, and I wouldn’t have traded the ability to take the whole seat with sleeping baby when we got to where we were going. Totally worth it to have both styles, esp if you can get good deals on both.

   I just got done chatting with an Amazon customer service rep and she told me to go ahead and place the order and then she would adjust the price. Best part is I also had a $15 gift card so the total was $49.79 shipped!!
