Off topic.. But I’m on the look out for a hot deal for business cards and banners!! I’m starting a church youth group and would love to order these at a great price to get started , I’ve told my friend who is also helping me get this up and running how amazing this group is and we can find anything!!:)
Check Vistaprint!!!
Sometimes staples has deals. I got a few banners made for $10 each (vertical and horizontal) and the vertical stands also for $10.
Thanks you two! I already looked into vistaprint I’m going to check out staples!!
I wish they had kids frames. Anyone know the best place for kid’s glasses?
Sears!
I love that they have the protection plan. My toddler keeps breaking my other kid’s glasses and I’ve had no problems getting them replaced!
JcPenny Optical had an amazing deal for kids glasses in August. I get my two kids a few pairs every August. $25 exams and $25 glasses. Lots to choose from and nothing to hike up the price. Choose a frame that is normally $120 or under and the lenses with all the goodies are includes for only $25. One of my favorite ways to get kids glasses.
JCPenney Optical was running a promotional for 29.99 for kids glasses.
Thanks, everyone!
ZenniOptical.com
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Jenni Optical is THE cheapest online glasses shop, with THE best quality, THE best “freebies” and THE best customer service. Cheaper than this deal here.
I got my glasses at Zenni, two pairs for $50 shipped. I even upgraded my lenses to anti glare, they would have been cheaper if I hadn’t. And I didn’t get the cheapest frames.
Kristen, I really like Target for kids glasses. They have reasonably priced frames and offer a $30 warranty that replaces the glasses, no questions asked. You can use your red card too and save an extra 5%. HTH
Anyone know the quality on these?
Cathy I’m very happy with quality. I have been buying from many others websites and Glasses USA has the best quality.
How recent does your prescription need to be to order from them? I remember one of the other companies required a very recent one.
That’s strange! I don’t know how they’d know. When I’ve ordered from here, I enter in my prescription myself. Mine is over a year old.
You don’t need to fax them the copy from the doctor?
I never have. I’ve ordered twice from them. I don’t have vision insurance, so when I had my last eye appt, I got my script and I just enter it in at checkout. Unless they’ve recently changed in the last month! Hth.
They should be requiring a prescription. They state that the do, but I guess they must not.
No, at the bottom of each selection of glasses, there are options for lenses, and then you can either fill in your prescription on your own or fax/email. I’m not sure what you mean, there is a requirement for prescription…it just doesn’t need to be directly from the doctor.
Thank you!
I meant that they should be requiring that you verify that you have a valid, up to date prescription from a doctor. Not just letting people enter a script with no verification.
You have to have a prescription that is no more than 2 years old.
How do you pick out frames? I know in the store I’m looking at a million. How do you do it online?
Hi, Jodie. There are a few ways to help with your choice. If you currently wear glasses, on the inside of the temple, there should be some numbers. For example, mine is 47/17 and 135. 47 is the lens measurement and 17 is the bridge, in millimeters. 135 is the length of the temple, which is pretty much standard. That can help you decide what size frames to choose for your face, or what size you like on yourself. I personally like to try glasses on, because I wear them quite a bit. I’m also lucky to have vision insurance.
Cool! Learn something new everyday! Thanks for the info!!
Keeps telling me this code is invalid. Not sure why
