Verizon Smart Rewards: Earn Points and Score Gift Cards for FREE (Sign up Now & Earn 10,000 Points)
Calling all you Verizon Wireless customers! Have you signed up for the FREE Verizon Smart Rewards program? Head here to register now – you’ll start with 10,000 points and earn extra points for every year you’ve been with Verizon. Continue to earn points for every dollar you spend when you pay your bill and get points for paperless billing or setting up Auto Pay with your checking account. Then redeem points for gift cards, sweepstakes entries and more.
In fact, check out this email from Hip2Save reader, Deanna:

If you’re a Verizon user, they are giving you points just for having their service! You can login to rewards.verizonwireless.com and buy discounted gift cards, bid on auctions, etc. I just won a $100 Verizon gift card by simply clicking repeatedly in the last 30 seconds of the auction! It virtually wiped out all of my points, but I didn’t actually have to do anything to earn them.
My sister just logged into her Verizon Rewards account and discovered she had over 100,000 points! She spotted the offers above for a $50 The Children’s Place gift card, $25 Cabela’s gift card and more. Be sure to come back and let us know how many points you have! 😀
(Thanks, Deanna!)

I think the site is down.
That’s odd, I still see it loading for me. Maybe try in another web browser?
I have over 100,000 points but I have yet to use them. When I bid on the gift cards I never win. It is really hard to use the points for anything of real value.
I have no luck with the auctions but I have won a chik-fil-a $10 gift card on the sweepstakes thingy. Also I like the daily deals too
I have scored many verizon gift cards from daily deals.and used those to pay my bill.auction consumes so many points.I won 2 auctions.and the best method is to place a bid on last minutes.
DAILY DEALS start daily at 2 O clock.and many times there is $10 verizon gift card for 100 points only.I always get that.
I was going to sign up a few weeks back, but in the terms and conditions, they have permission to track your location and other things that made me uncomfortable. I’m not so naive that I think my info is 100% safe, but I am not willing to give permission for more invasion of privacy. Make sure you read what you are agreeing to. Also, Google Verizon Smart Rewards and see the articles it pulls up. This reward is not for me:)
I decided to skip this program when I first switched to Verizon for the same reasons. I just googled to refresh my memory as to why I chose to avoid it (my google search was Verizon Rewards Reviews), lots of negative articles/comments. You’re basically trading points for privacy.
I 100% agree Jennie!!! That is why I too passed signing up about a month ago. However, a fellow Hipster commented farther down that once you’ve joined, you can opt-out of Verizon Selects (the tracking portion). I know when I checked into joining, the wording seemed to insinuate it was an “option,” however it would not allow me to unselect that option! :[ It’s good to know that you can immediately opt-out. HTH
I have been a rewards member for a while now. There are so many ways to get points it’s crazy. Even with using points pretty constantly on sweepstakes entries and deals I have at least 50,000 points at all times. I haven’t had good luck with the auctions but love the daily deals they do, I get $5 and $10 Verizon gift cards for free with points all the time. Not a lot of money but they help with the bill and didn’t cost me a dime 🙂
I don’t see where the Verizon gift cards are. What category are they under
They have them as auction items. Or OCCASIONALLY they are part of the daily deal that’s starts at 2pm (eastern). One item offered each day as points only (1000 points for $10 verizon card) or as point and cash (i.e. an Okey t-shirt for 500 points plus 8.99). I don’t know how many they offer, but they are all ‘in carts’ immediately at 2. Fun to try if you are able though.
They have them every once in a while on the daily deals section. They usually post the good stuff around 2:00 so if I have time I try to check then
Thanks for sharing Diane 🙂
I have a ton of
Points. One time
I was able to redeem a bunch for an extra gig of data for
That month but otherwise I never use them.
I’ve gotten free magazine subscriptions with my points. Have never won an auction. But I like free magazines!!
Thanks for sharing 🙂
My husband and I recently switched to Cricket Wireless which is part of the AT&T network. It’s a prepaid plan and we pay $70/month for both of us (there are no crazy taxes). We have unlimited talk & text and we each get 2.5 gigs of data.
Please email me if you’re interested. They have a “Refer-a-Friend Plan.” We’ll both get $25 (in the form of a service credit applied to your My Cricket account) if you as a new customer (referred by me) accepts the referral via the online portal, activates service, completes a profile, and stays with Cricket for 60 consecutive days.
Please email me if you’re interested….thanks in advance….

I bought my husband a pair of Oakley glasses that in store cost 140. I got them for 89.99 with free shipping. I love that we can get great discounts with this!
😀
Also we used points to save 100$ on our hotel this summer for vacation!
Awesome!
I just signed up, but am NOT impressed with the available rewards. Has anybody figured out how to cancel the membership? It is definitely not worth the privacy you give up.
The membership is free so it doesn’t cost anything to have it open
It’s under my profile it will show something like select preferences; I just did the same thing
I had 58,330 points! Not sure what to use with them though.
I wouldn’t be too concerned about the privacy. Verizon is already your carrier and has access to all that info anyhow.
Exactly!
I won a Samsung Galaxy Tablet with the sweepstakes. Other than that, it’s not really that great. If you can get in on the daily deals and get giftcards, that’s not so bad. I really wish they’d let you redeem your points for payment towards your bill.
about once a month they offer Carnival gift cards for 10% off. great way to save on a cruise and use all your points. They always sell out within the first day they are restocked though.
Awesome! Is there a way to know when they will become available again? Or do you have to check daily?
I recommend not using Verizon rewards. I’ve been able to get a few daily deals, but lately they’ve been fewer and farther between (used to be $5 and $10 verizon cards weekly, but now they don’t have them often). They’ve also increased the number of points required to enter sweepstakes (used to be 1 point, now 10). I have yet to find the points useful except for the daily deals (again, hard to get, and fewer than they used to be), or magazine subscriptions. As far as a reward program goes, it is not very beneficial.
If you do you enter sweepstakes with Verizon smart rewards, make sure to check your spam folder regularly. I won a $25 Verizon gift card a while ago, but I did not redeem it because the email saying I won it went into spam.
If anyone is concerned about there privacy. By signing up for the Verizon rewards you are automatically signed up for Verizon Selects. This is where they can track everything by being signed up for this. You have to go into your account and opt out of the Verizon Selects portion. There are options that allow you to limit your privacy or opt of everything. Hope this helps.
Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much Linda. I had looked into joining a few months ago, but was apprehensive about my privacy. (Yes, I know they are my carrier with the ability to access my personal “phone’s” information, but blatantly agreeing to their terms and conditions freaked me out.) And while checking it out I could not figure out how to not choose the Verizon Select portion, as it automatically makes you join when you sign up!!! So, thank you for letting us all know you can opt out after initially joining. Thank you!
145k. Received 2 gift cards from daily deals. Haven’t won an auction. Not really impresa with the other offerings.
I get points to pay my bill automatically, get paperless bill, birthday, anniversary and more, I already redeemed points several times for Starbucks gift cards 🙂
Sometimes they give me bonus points for being good customer 🙂
I’m a bit confused… My Verizon rewards (I have fios) has no daily deals or auctions, or even sweepstakes. Just points for cheap giftcards like Starbucks and the like. Are there different programs for fios and wireless?
I love the Verizon points! I had 150,000 and used about 30,000 to purchase coupons for our Florida vacation back in June. We were visiting theme parks, but with a family of 6 ( three being teenagers) I knew eating in the parks would blow our budget. I was able to buy coupons for BOGO free pizzas, BOGO free putt putt golf, 20% off dinner bill etc. that saved us a ton of money!
Thanks for sharing 🙂
I enter the sweepstakes every day just for fun. I’ve won a $10 gift card to IHOP and a $10 gift card to another restaurant (can’t remember which one). They have sweepstakes for much bigger prizes, too, but I’ve never won any of those.
Thanks everyone for the additional tips!
Carnival gift cards are back up! We saved over $600 using our points to book a cruise. No one was offering a better deal…we talked to multiple travel agents…looked at booking directly with the cruise line…in the end…I can’t believe it but Verizon Smart Rewards was actually worth it! I’ve also bought near 2K of discounted carnival gift cards with them over the last few months and not have had any issues.
Thanx for the information Jenn. We have a cruise booked for next April and it’d be awesome to possibly snag some onboard credit or gift cards, if available.
So, is it worth it to buy a cruise on Verizon Rewards? Did you have any issues when you actually took the vacation?
I bought a pair of wireless bluetooth headphones from Verizon at a nice discount. I am currently waiting for delivery. The headphones were shipped via priority mail, the shipping is free, the price is guaranteed to be competitive with retailers…it was cheaper than Amazon and other places I checked…and then I got $14 off of that price by using points. The catch is that there are no returns unless the item is defective.
I haven’t tried any of the sweepstakes or auctions, but from what you are all saying, it sounds like it might be worthwhile to check those out!
Logged in and the message reads” Your account is eligible for rewards at this time.” We have had an account for years and have 2 phones and an internet jet pack and pay about $190.00 per month. What does it take to be eligible?
This happened to me too. Then I figured out it has to go under the account holders name. So I had to enter my husbands cell rather than mine.
I can’t get to the site. I only use verizon for cable/internet … is this a reward site just for mobile?
Seems basically the same as Rewards for Goods through AARP. I really like buying the discounted gift cards and since they are unused you don’t have to worry about using them right away like when you buy from a discounted gift card site.
Why is it that Verizon gives new customers promo gifts, but us old long term customers that got screwed out of unlimited everything contracts and now have to pay for data. I went in a few years back to get a battery for the phone I had at the time was told we no longer carry those. Long story short, the said I needed a new phone then nailed with a new contract no more unlimited data.still kept Verizon as my carrier, but seriously looking at other options. Verizon has no loyalty for their long time customers. Way to go Verizon.
H Deanna, I’d thought you might find this youtube video interesting regarding the Verizon rewards program. I agree the program is quite ridiculous but this lady has a worthwhile suggestion to donate a decade’s worth of points to a children’s hospital like St. Judes.
