Just to be clear a 3.5qt is pretty small! I use my 7 all the time for roasts. I have a 5 I use for sauces and smaller dishes. You can sometimes score ‘irregulars’ at tjmaxx in the bigger sizes for around the same price! Just make sure you know how small 3.5qt truly is!

Thanks so much for the helpful feedback Sarah!

HI all, I know this cookware is pri-cey! I mean, I like good things in life, but I work [hard] for a living. I’m not into pricey anything. That said: I have a couple of pieces that I found deals on, and I have to say: worth every penny! My impressions
    1. Lifetime [well, 99 years] guarantee. Truly a hassle-free exchange process from what I’ve heard. I plan to pass these down to my budding mini-me chef.
    2. Heavy [a challenge when washing]. They’re cast iron on the inside, w/ a ceramic coating.
    3. NOTHING sticks to this thing. Washing is a breeze. Even when I burn [NO!] stuff, i can simply clean the burn right off.
    4. Everything cooks perfectly. I swear I’ve become a better cook with these pots
    5. They’re beautiful from cooktop/oven to the table. The colors are awesome. I have the Fire Red. [so, less pots to wash]
    6. The ceramic coating is one that doesn’t make me nervous like the teflon/non-stick stuff does. I feel like it’s a healthier alternative. Since nothing sticks to these pots, I gotten into the habit of using much less oil in my cooking.

Really, my best reason for getting them is the quality of the cookware. It’s truly amazing.

Good to know…I think I know what to get my mom for mother’s day, as I could never convince her to buy this for herself, but I know she’d LOVE it.

Great feedback. What size would you recommend for soups? Thanks!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for such awesome feedback! Good to know!

Thanks for the previous posts. I have been looking at what I think is a 4.5 qt at TJ Maxx on clearance for $119, regularly $150 at TJ. I had actually purchased and returned because I thought it was too small for stews, chili, and my artisan bread recipe. I have a bigger one in an off brand, but it does stain, and am glad to know that the Le Crueset does not stain and washes easily. I will wait for a bigger Le Crueset to come on sale at TJ. I agree the 3.5 qt would be way too small for the price and usefulness.

We scored some seconds from this brand recently at TJ Maxx (Paid $129 for the 9 Qt size and $119 for the 4.5 Qt size). It’s worth checking at your local TJ Maxx store if you’re in the market for one of these. The seconds are nearly perfect (only small drips and tiny scuffing) and Le Crueset will destroy any that do not meet their standards.

    • Megan

If you find another 9 qt at that price pick it up for me!

      • Susi

Yea Emily grab me one too! That’s an awesome price 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh cool! Thanks for sharing Emily!

Last week I bought a 5.5 qt for 190 after 40% off sale at the outlet so if you need one this small, it’s a deal! Love these Dutch ovens and their skillets are really nice too!

I own a 3.5 quart Le creuset (in red). It is best for 2 person meals – not a great size for soups, etc. unless you are cutting the recipe in half. Otherwise, this pot is awesome – Le creuset makes great quality pots, etc. I love that you can brown your meats in them on the stovetop (cast iron is great for this) and also use them in the oven (for braising or whatever). Dishwasher safe too, although I always hand wash (enameled coating makes it a breeze). Highly recommend!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Sweet! Glad to hear it!

Love my Le Crueset pots and pan! I own about five different pieces, got rid of the all my nonstick. Like cooking in it, definitely see big difference in taste and how things are being cooked!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Awesome!

  8. Sandy

I have a dozen assorted le creuset ovens. I love each one! I have several pieces, new in the box, that I will never use. ( I buy too much). If anyone is interested in purchasing at a good price, let me know and I will send photos. I have them listed on Craigslist right now. Thanks!

Just an FYI everyone Le Creuset are expensive unusually expensive and here is why the dont either are chipped, pitted, or discolored. Its been in business since 1952.t is durable. It isn’t unusual for someone to be using 40 to 60 year old cookware
It heats perfectly and evenly. Food doesn’t burn easily
It cleans easily. The enameled coating keeps food from sticking to it.
Can be used with gas, electric, induction, or ceramic ranges
Flat bottoms sit firmly on the surface of your cook top
Porcelain enamel coating won’t absorb odors or flavors
Lids seal in moisture and flavor
Knobs are heatproof up to 450 degrees F

I use mine on stove and or oven. Even after you turn off the heat it keeps the food warm for hours with cover.
Cooks alot faster then normal pots and pans.

Finally my all time favorite there cookware is guaranteed for life, I have owned mine for 5 years now invested more then 2,000 because i was tired of investing every year, I was tired of the burnt scarfing on the pots left behind and the scrapes. This is the best. So the price isnt bad based on the quality you are getting. Definitely a wise investment if you love to cook and like the right type of pots. Im skeptical of say baying this type of cookware at Ross or similar because Im all about the warranty and not the defects.
