Apple Retail Stores: FREE Apple Kids Camp for Ages 8-12 (Make Reservations Now!)
Apple stores are once again hosting Apple Camp for kids ages 8-12 throughout this summer! This FREE camp lasts 1 1/2 hours per day on 3 separate days and is available at Apple Retail Stores throughout the country.
Keep in mind that space is limited and workshops fill up quickly, so head on over here and sign your kids up now! Just select your state and store and you will then be able to select the week you would like to sign up for (each child is limited to no more than one Apple Camp workshop). Please note that a parent must stay with your child(ren) during Apple Camp.
(Thanks, Kim & Free Stuff Times!)
Amazing!! Thank you so much for this find. Just signed my son up, and also got a message that he will receive a free Apple shirt.
How cool! You’re so welcome!
Has anyone done this before? What do they learn?
I have done them the last two years. The movie one is really neat. They learn how to make a movie including a soundtrack with Garage Band. OR they write an electronic book including illustrations. Plus a free shirt and a USB stick to save their work one
Thank you!!
Thank you! I signed up for these the last two years and love these classes! I was able to sign up my boys for the robotic one which is meet this year! Thank you Thank you!!
You’re welcome Michelle! Thanks so much for the feedback!
They aren’t strict about age. If you child can follow simple directions and can manage a tablet they will be fine. My store has had kids as young as six.
I meant new this year. Thanks again 😀
Are they strict about age? My son turns 8 late August but would love this..
probably depends on store. my daughter participated last year and she is turning 8 in September of this year. My kids loved the movie one!!
Wanted to add…when you sign up they never ask for birthday info so if you think your kid can handle it they should be ok.
Ok.. Thanks Christine.. 👍🏼
Camp is full already and waiting list is full too in my area!? 😔
Bummer! 🙁
where do u live?
Full here too – Southeastern VA. We did the movie one last year and were looking forward to the coding camp this year. Last year, they had openings the day the classes started, and still had less than full classes. I think many sign up, make other plans, and fail to cancel, denying kids that wanted to go the chance. I truly wish they would charge a nominal fee to avoid this – I’d gladly pay for the tee, USB stick and earbuds, just for the chance my daughter could attend.
All the classes were full at the store by me, but I was able to do the waiting list 🙂 Thx
Thank you so much what awesome information for my nephew! This is going quickly and my sister just made it! I love this app 😀
You’re welcome Kim!
Is this one day class only? TIA
This camp lasts 1 1/2 hours per day on 3 separate days 🙂
no. you can look at the scheduling in your area by following the links to see exact days and times. there are 2 days of class at least if it is like the previous years. also a presentation day. read complete post for accurate info.
Thank you SO much! This is right up my son’s alley and the price is right up mine. For those who already signed up, did you get your confirmation right away?
No not right away 😀
I haven’t gotten mine yet.
I was wondering the same thing… Did manage to register my son, but never got he confirmation email… I took a screen shot of the appt details though…hopefully they will send out soon
Thanks for the heads up! Registered my kiddos.
Is the Coding / Robots one new? Thanks for the heads up! My kids have enjoyed doing this for the past two summers. They took the story one the first year, and the movie one last year. They weren’t given a ton of information … They were taught how to do something for about 15 minutes and then they are given the rest of the time to create something using that information, but I thought it was worth it. They got a free (nice!) T-shirt and an Apple thumb drive that was also pretty cool.
Yes, it’s new. I am excited about this one. And I love the shirts they give them. Mine wears it throughout the year.
Do we have to stay in the store when kids in the class or parents can leave then pick them up!! Dose anyone know?
Says parents have to stay.
You have to stay in the store.
sorry if my comment shows up multiple times, i cannot see it at this point, so i am trying a 3rd time (i am afraid all will show up at once – and i don’t know how to remove or edit extra comments.)
you are supposed to stay during the camp. i have done this multiple years, and i have had babies in strollers, so i have been able to go in and out/walk up and down the sidewalk in front of the store during the time my older kids are doing the camp. the employees seemed to be fine with that, but could easily find me in front of the store if there was a problem and i was needed. (for example, once my daughter threw up in the store during one of the camp days. someone poked their head out to wave me over and let me know.)
on the presentation day, all parents stay present in the store to see the kids show their final projects.
no. you can use the links in the post to look at the schedules. all information is included that you will need.
(sorry, i was trying to edit my comment above and i don’t know how to make changes. it posted before i was ready.)
To Girlwork: you are supposed to stay in the store. i have done this multiple years, and i always have babies in strollers at the same time as my older kids are in the Apple Camp. i do stroll in and out during the camp and walk up and down the sidewalk in front of the store during the class, and it has not seemed to be a problem.
i think the employees just want to be able to find you if there is a problem. (like once one of my kids threw up during the class, so someone poked their head out of the store to alert me.)
one of the days is a presentation day for all campers, and all parents stay present during that day for the kids to showcase their work.
Thanks! Just got my grandsons in. Sounds like they will love it!!
Perfect! You’re welcome!
Thank you. They are filling up fast but grateful to get my son and his friend signed up.
You’re welcome!
My daughter did this last year. She absolutely loved it!!! It’s amazing what the kids (and parents) can learn and produce within that little bit of time. Highly recommend the camp! We’re going back again 👍🏻👍🏻
Oh good! Thanks so much for sharing your experience! Glad you can sign up again!
For the movie camp, does each child make their own movie or do they work in groups?
They make their own movie. Last year I took both of my boys (ages 8 & 10). One made a stop motion Lego movie he worked hard on at home and the other did a green screen movie about space that was made mostly at the store.
Question…I put my daughter on the waiting list. Do I need to choose another two days to sign her up for or once and she is now on the waiting list for the following two days?
I believe it only puts them on the waiting list for that class.
thanks collin! i was able to sign up my son for all 3!!
You’re welcome!
I enrolled my daughter about an hour ago, but I haven’t received any confirmation email. Is this normal?
I haven’t received an email either and I did it early this morning. However, it does show up in my reservations in my Apple ID account. This was hard to find. Go to apple.com. Choose the location you registered at. You should see a place to view your reservations as long as you are signed into your apple account.
Thank you so much for posting the steps. Really helpful!
Thanks so much Michelle! I got it!
It says the class can be reserved but its not connecting me.
Hmm, maybe wait a moment and try again or try it in a different browser. Hope that helps!
Thanks team! My guy loved the movie making one last year you posted and is excited to try the ibook one this year 🙂
How exciting! YW!
So bummed! I signed up to be alerted when these were open, never got the email, and all the classes and waiting lists in my area are full 🙁
Same EXACT thing happened to me!!!
Does anybody have the link to print the permission form? I signed up on my phone and now I cannot find the link so I can print the form that the kids need to bring.
Found it: https://concierge.apple.com/resources/terms-and-condition/camp/camp_permission_en_US.pdf

You can find the form here Laura.
This is one of those times I wish I was a stay at home mom so my kids could participate 🙁
Did Apple do this camp this year?
