Can someone attest to the quality of these backpacks? Wondering if I should order or not.

    • Christina

My neighbor got one for her daughter in preschool. It lasted 2 years no issues.

  2. Ang

    Are these backpacks good quality?

You really shouldn’t personalize your children’s stuff especially backpacks, stranger danger!

    • Kimc

I was about to post the same thing.

Just curious wouldn’t that only be a danger if your child walked to school? My daughter rides the bus and the students are dropped off in a fenced area. who would see her name?

      • cbeths

It is really a matter of an “if” situation. IF someone got into the school and convinced your child they were there to pick them up. IF someone happen to get on the bus that wasn’t supposed to be there. It’s just precaution.

    • art

You should be more concerned about people that already know your child’s name.

  4. Sara

Please think twice before personalizing. This makes it easier for strangers to approach a child, calling them by name as if they know the child.

  5. Robin

We always just do initials instead of full name.

Great tip Robin! Thanks for sharing!

I bought a princess one when my daughter was in the 1st grade. It lasted the year but did rip. I’d say their book bags are a step up from dept. store character book bags. They are not on the same levels as jansport, ll bean, etc.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Thanks for the honest feedback!

My children’s school requires that their backpacks be labeled with their name in a place within view. The personalization makes for a nicer option than labeling it with a sharpie.

Isn’t it the same quality as the ones sold in the department stores ???..I got one frozen for 11.99 $

I know to each thier own, but I really hate to see kids names on backpacks. You just never know when someone is out there lurking and this is just a silver platter being handed to those perverts. I don’t care if the school requires it. I would fight it on the grounds of safety for my child.

I don’t personalize them, but I have purchased two Disney Store backpacks and lunch kits for my 8-year-old son. My son is pretty hard on his stuff, and the first one easily lasted two years (K and 1st) and we still use it as a bag to take to the pool. The second one lasted through this school year and still looks fine; we plan to use it for next year as well. Neither backpack has ever gotten a rip or tear. (The first lunch bag did get a rip on the inside after almost two years, exposing the lining, but we’re talking about the backpacks, right?) I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Disney backpacks as being good quality.

Also, if you’re looking at one that lights up, know that you can turn that feature off with a small switch on the inside (we insisted it be turned off for school); the battery is also replaceable.

Is it the same quality everywhere ??if you bought it for Disney or other stores ?
