I’d like to stock up now on crayons and things but wondering how many packs of crayons I would need per school year??
I usually buy 2 per child and then 1 for each Christmas Shoebox.
How many are on your school supply list? My daughter needs four 24-packs and two eight-count boxes.
And be careful…if you’re getting the lists supplied by the stores…as a teacher, their lists seemed crazy to me…I would never ask or require my kiddos to bring that much stuff…
It really depends on if your child shares crayons with the class (communal supplies) or has his/her own packs for personal use, and then on what kind of colorer they are (dainty, rough, etc.)! That is, my daughter could make a box of Crayola Crayons (only buy those — the Rose Art crayons are waxy and don’t work as well) last for a year. My son couldn’t keep a box intact for a week!
I always bought what the teacher suggested, number wise, plus another set for second semester, plus a set for home use. And then I’d buy extras to have for Christmas shoe box gifts. At these prices, as long as you aren’t completely strapped for cash, that’s really not that much.

Hi ang, if you are near Staples they have 1 ream of printer paper for $0.01 after rebate. Or you can get 3 reams for $1.00 each. Collin posted this deal earlier today. Check the comments in that post because you might be able to get 4 reams for $0.01 each as one of the commenters was able to do.
Winding down? School doesn’t start here in NY state for another 3.5-4 weeks. LOL

Lucky! We started on August 3rd here in northern Mississippi. I wish we would start at the beginning of September. It has been over 100 with the humidity here, can you imagine riding a school bus in that heat?
My kids started August 10. Too early, in my opinion. They get out the end of May this year.

Thank you! I always try to put art supplies in my ‘prize box’ at school. $.25 for Crayola crayons has aways been my price point, but I didn’t think I was going to meet that this year. Fifty cents seems to be the new price. This doesn’t seem like too much, but when you buy a bunch of boxes it adds up! Maybe I can get Staples to price match and squeeze a few extra pennies!
My 8th graders list asks for 100 pencils. 100!!! I don’t think she’s used 100 pencils the previous years combined!
