You’re all welcome – glad you like it 🙂
Loving the red
Yay! 🙂
I went into a CVS this week. I wasn’t using any coupons so didn’t have any problems. But I noticed a sign that confused me. I can’t recall the wording now, but I did ask the clerk for clarification, and she told me that the sign was there for couponers. (This she said with disdain). The store would only accept 3 coupons at a time now. I wasn’t sure if this was just this store or a corporate policy. Anyone else see this as well?
Not corporate policy.
Our local Walgreens quit accepting coupons . Com coupons. They had been having problems with fraudulent coupons. I believe each manager can choose what coupons to accept and how many.
Melissa, my CVS will no longer take any digital coupons (including their own app) as well as any printed coupons. They will only accept newspaper coupons and the printed ones from their machine in store.
Oh no, that is very awful if they don’t take any printed coupons. I think I can’t shop at my CVS anymore when it is happened. Now I am still good. Thank you.
Stores will see their sales drop if we can’t use coupons
I shop at 2 different CVS stores most of the time. One will take any coupon as long as it is not expired and there is no limit to how many I can use. The other store which I shop at less will not take any coupon that has any store logo on it at all plus if they beep and I have obviously purchased the correct item they still will not accept it.
3 coupons at a time is probably to keep the lines from getting too long. Our store has only one cashier who checks out couponers on one register because there are only 2 people working at any given time. Although we are as courteous as possible, it does take time to ring up coupons. The mgr told us that because of the volume of sales on Sunday mornings, they are actually “supposed to” have 4 cashiers working, but they don’t have enough employees to actually accommodate that. It takes forever, even with my “coupon buddy” and I taking turns and breaking up into smaller transactions.
Bless you! We love our CVS cashiers!
My local CVS in Houston has a “max 2 coupons per transaction”, it’s been that was for most of the year, if I recall correctly.
Thanks for old format!
You are so welcome!
Thanks for going back to the old way!
I do want to say a sincere thank you for returning to the old style post. It doesn’t go unnoticed by me that a significant amount of time is required for the team at hip to save to prepare these posts. I am certain that my savings is now in the thousands simply because I follow this blog exclusively and rely on the posts. For my family, it has meant a better quality of life and the opportunity to give to others when we would have been able to otherwise. Your time and effort is much appreciated!!!
Thanks for adding the old format again! I am so grateful for all that hip2save team does.
I like the red a lot. I’m not sure you need to spend time on the deal ideas at the bottom. Just trying to save you time. Have a great rest of your weekend.
Thanks for the feedback Sue!
Thank you for the old style! It’s extremely helpful for finding sales on items that may not be a great deal, but are products our family needs to buy that are rarely at a significant discount (Tom’s, Pediasure, etc.)
I think I’m about done with cvs. I had one $5 ecb that had expired for 3 days and when I noticed, I called the 800# and even spoke to a supervisor and they wouldn’t reissue it. Now I discovered that my other two $5 ecbs have also expired (yesterday) and I am so mad at myself! I know it’s my fault but wish they would cut me some slack if it is within the same week! I’m not going to bother shopping there. Only to get my scripts because it is literally across the street from me.
Call again…I’ve been thru that same situation..the first person didn’t do it so I called again and the second person did without any problems…hths
IDK if this will help you, but it does for me. When I get home, I immediately cut the ECBs off the crt and I write all the values of the date they’re going to expire on my monthly calendar and cross off the ECBs that I used that trip. Then I file them in my coupon binder (cvs slot). Every Sat evening as I’m planning my shopping trip, I glance at my calendar to see what’s expiring and how much, that way I know what I have to roll. So this wk coming up, I don’t have any expiring, but the following wk (9/18) I have $32 to use! Wow, that’s a lot now that I’m adding it up! LOL. $10 of that is from the Beauty Club bucks! Must have had some great deals a month ago!! So now that I know what I have, I can start planning. There are quite a few deals I want to do this wk, so I’ll probably use them all up.
I also keep track of Wag’s RRs on my calendar too.
Getting back to your issue, I’d call CS again. Hopefully you’ll get a more sympathetic rep.
To me this is no different than an expired coupon. You snooze you lose. They should they re- issue? Do you call a company and have them send you a new coupon because you forgot you had one at the bottom of your purse and now it’s expired? I just don’t get it
But this isn’t a coupon, it’s “money” earned. Sometimes life gets crazy. When my son was in the hospital a few years ago with RSV, the last thing on my mind was shopping at CVS, and quite a few of my ECBs expired. A call the CS and they happily reissued them for me.
I would go to your CVS and see if they will still honor it. Mine will honor expired up to two weeks. Good luck!
I had a similar situation where $2 expired from Spring Savings. It was a complete oversight and when I tried to get it reissued twice they said no. They said they are taking a hard line on coupons and expiration dates and that they are no longer allowed to reissue as of August 9, 2016. I said fine. Proceeded to get assistance on a coupon (one that I received in the mail) that didn’t deduct correctly and they said since they could not find the coupon, they could not help. Also, they said that the managers can make their own policies on coupons at stores. I expect the pendulum will swing far the other way before it settles in the reasonable area again.
Oh! And thank u and team for the red. Too bad I’m shopping at Family Dollar which has items for 1/2 the price as cvs and is also across the street.
One more question (off topic sorry): If Truvia is BOGO at Publix this week and I have a coupon for a free Truvia, will I get 2 free? Thanks for any thoughts.
I would ask at customer service at your store and see what they say.
Yes you do in Publix
Only in Florida do you get true bogo
I will say yes.
yeah… I love red highlights. Thank you for all match-ups.
Thank you to the hip team! I sincerely appreciate the whole ad being shown with the coupon match ups and have always enjoyed seeing the red highlights. I know it takes more time on the team but it is really helpful to me!! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!
Agreed! Thank you H2S!!
Aww you are so welcome! 🙂
Thank you!!!!!! Love this format!
Grrrrr! Just came back from CVS and both the $1 off milk coupon and the $7 Tena coupon would not scan even though I purchased the qualifying products. The manager was at a loss why they wouldn’t scan, but he was powerless to override it. (of course I didn’t purchase them after that). I understand trying to control coupon abuse, but this is just plain wrong. We are in a very rural area and CVS, Winn Dixie and the Dollar stores are it for a 50 mile radius. They need to find a way to honor legitimate digital coupons when they won’t scan. One cashier told me they even had to refuse a CVS digital coupon when it wouldn’t scan-now that is just not right! Come on, CVS, step up to the plate and fix this, please!
Milk coupon won’t scan on any milk and they won’t put it manually. I printed 4 and I think they will go waste.
My milk coupon would not scan either at Meijer but they put it through.
My CVS in Jacksonville, Florida wouldn’t take the milk coupon either. The cashier didn’t believe that it was a real coupon because it said any milk.
Thank you for the red deals again!!!
Thanks for the old format. Also thanks for your awesome match-ups.
You all are so welcome – glad you like the red! 🙂
I went to CVS tonight and the cashier was so nice. I had an Angel Soft coupon that was VERY light( my printer was running out of ink and I didn’t realize it) and she said oh that won’t scan but I can put it in. I was so grateful. I live in a very rural area and we only have CVS, WalMart(which I despise) and Dollar General. I told her that they were my favorite store
Thank you for bringing back the red deals!
thank you for bringing back this format! Love the H2S team!
if your total items are 14.98 and there is an in app coupon for say $3 off $15 say cosmetics will the in app coupon come off? thx. and thx for the red highlights!!!
No, for the coupon you must reached the required amount.
Just returned from three CVS stores looking for the Vichy Thermal water. Two of the three didn’t carry any Vichy items and the third store only had one and it was priced at over $14.00 – no where close to the price in the deal listed. I guess its a no go for me.
Oh bummer! Sorry to hear that Kim!
My CVS in upstate NY has become “very tight” with their coupon policies. I am very friendly with the staff and used to shop their two times a week. I joked with my family that the assistant manager was my boyfriend. He would tell me about things that were being marked down and their own private sales. We have since “broken up” being that he is unable to make his own markdowns or take my coupons! Their manager used to take almost any coupon and would override the system if necessary. Now due to corporate policies, they are unable to, they cannot take expired ECB either. Now a lot of times there’s a problem with the app coupons and its become such an issue, its not even worth it for me to go there anymore. I’m very dissappointed and my ex told me their volume is way down.
Soooo happy to see the old format back! I have been following h2s for sooooo long that it is really hard to teach an old dog new tricks!!!! Thanks for bringing it back and all you do for all of us! Very much appreciated!
Hi all! Did anyone try the Vichy deal??? I went to the only store in Gainesville FL that carries it and I was so happy to see it was in stock! But then… I had a rough time since the coupons scanned but beeped so the cashier refused to push them through. I told him like 5 times these are genuine coupons I printed myself and he said they are not allowed to push them through and people in other stores here have lots their jobs because of that… did this happen to anyone else?
This happened to me last time the sale was on and coupons were available. Due to the higher coupon value, cashier had to get an approval from manager to use it – which took close to 10 min, she was hiding somewhere in the back. He came back to let me know that manager allowed me to use only 1 because the others were copies. I asked to speak with the manager who was extremely condescending. I told her that accusing someone of coupon fraud without giving them a chance to explain themselves and also hiding in the back office is extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. I explained nicely that coupons aren’t copies of each other and showed her the unique coupons codes with every print. She didn’t even know about this!! She warmed up and allowed me to scan all 4, but they kept beeping and the system rejected them all. The cashier tried to override them manually but he was only able to push through a couple. I think the problem is that the coupon value is too high and they can’t do that with 4 coupons….Anyway, the whole experience was horrible and humiliating. I ended up walking out with my coupons. I don’t think I’ll try this deal again, sounds like the system doesn’t recognize the coupons so I don’t want to go through the same terrible experience.
I let customer service at Vichy know that their coupon doesn’t work with retailers and people using it get treated badly because of alleged coupon fraud. Never heard back.
Thanks Pepi! It’s good to hear other people’s stories… I am planning to call CVS customer service today (I tried yesterday but their office is closed on Sundays) and I hadn’t thought of calling Vichy customer service as well. I did feel as well the person checking me out (who I think had a “manager” tag) started to talk a bit condescending to me and then wanted to finish the transaction without the Vichy items and therefor wasting almost $3 in ECBs, and when I tried to explain what was happening, he didn’t want to cancel the transaction! I just asked for my coupons back and left. Not going back to that CVS and not wasting my time with Vichy $7 coupons anymore
If your store can’t manually enter coupons, don’t waste ink to print Vichy coupons.
I know this coupon definitely beeps and my stores are anti-beep so I skip this deal. It’s not worth the hassle. 🙁
Can someone help me? If I have 2 separate CVS coupon machine coupons (with different numbers and expiration dates) for $3 off $12 razor purchase – can I use both on one purchase that is over $12 or do I have to spend $24 to use both coupons? Thanks for any help with this.
You must to spend $24 to be able to use both of them ! HTH
Hi! Joyce, Yes you can use both of them and your total should be $14 because when you use first one you will left with $12 and you can use another one too.I have got two $3 off 15 so on $18 I have used them together couple of times. Hope that helps.
Per the coupon policy – Can I use multiple coupons within a transaction?
Yes, as long as all of the coupons meet their qualifications.
Examples:
• Two $3 off $15 coupons for purchases that are $30.00 or higher
Sometimes the register will accept 2 $/$$ IF one is generic based and the other specific brand based. Like I had $3/15 Shave purchase and a $3/15 Fusion or Venus Razor or Refill that I was able to stack. I’ve never had the register accept 2 of the same offers. Even though people post it works, I think their cashiers are just pushing the q’s through.
Dee/Mel are right. Per the coupon policy, you need to spend $24. Maybe you spend $18 and cashiers help push the coupons through, but this is NOT the correct way to stack the same CVS coupons.
Thank you so so so much for going back to the red highlighted deals. Using hip2save for several years and thinking about not having the red highlighted deals made me very very worried. Thank you thank you thank you thank you !
You’re so welcome Katie! 😉
Collin, I have to say you are nothing but the best, I can in to check the deals with my fingers crossed that you went back to red and you did!!! Things like this make you absolutely the BEST blogger out there, EVER! I have a tab with your page open at work at all times (shhhhh), it’s my break when my eyes can’t take any more legal docs. I have the app for quick look up and to do screen shot and share with friends. But most importantly, you LISTENED to your followers, and for that I THANK YOU!!! Hope you have a great week!
Aww, happy to hear you can take a peek or two at the site during the day 😉 Thanks for the kind comment! You are SO welcome!
I bought the Zantac Duo Fusions today which was a 20 count bottle, but the rebate form says it’s only for 24 or 30 count. Will this work, or is this a mistake?
Here is the correct link for Zantac Duo Fusions Rebate. (The link in the post is for regular Zantac)
https://www.zantacotc.com/freebate-form-duofusion
Thanks for the heads up Sandy!
Hi Jennifer! Just updated that rebate link if you wanted to click back through! Sorry for the confusion!
Can I do the Zantac rebate since I already did the Duo Fusion rebate? They are separate forms. Looking at the form I don’t see that I need to pay in cash so I’m thinking I can pay with ecb? What do you think?
Hi! I was at cvs today and i tried to use the 5 of 2 almay cosmetics coupon and the cashier didnt let me use the coupon because it has walgreens on it. i told her it was a manufacter coupon and she said no it’s walgreens coupon:( should i call costumer service ?
The CVS in my place doesn’t have the TIDE. They said its out of stock. I went there everyday and there’s none, can i call cvs corporate and report them? I think its not true that its out of stock, before the sale last week i saw an aisle full of tide.
Great deals at my cvs on hair brushes, combs, and accesories marked half off but scanned at 75 percent off
