AT&T Wireless: FREE Streaming of DirecTV Live & Recorded Programs (Without Using Your Data)
Heads up all you AT&T Wireless subscribers! If you are also a DirecTV customer, this ought to make you happy! AT&T just announced that when you download the updated DirecTV app and stream your favorite shows through the app, this streaming will not count against your AT&T wireless data allowance! That means you can watch your live and recorded programs virtually anywhere without cutting into your data.
You can even watch recorded programs offline – just download your recorded content from your home DVR to your mobile device via your home Wi-Fi network and then once downloaded, you can watch that program anywhere even if you’re on a plane – no internet required.
Are you a Cricket Wireless customer? Starting tomorrow, September 9th, Cricket wireless will debut a $30 service plan that includes unlimited talk and text, plus 1GB of high-speed data plan.
And we just switched our satellite provider, darn!
Us too! We’re saving $40 per month though so I’d rather have that than free streaming.
This is a huge violation of net neutrality. We shouldn’t be applauding this move. We should be condemning it. AT&T and Directv should be ashamed of themselves!
They are the same company and using that relationship to improve customer satisfaction. Not really sure why it shouldn’t be applauded. I don’t have either service but it sounds great to me.
I’m all over this, thanks Collin and team!
You’re welcome Melissa!
im looking for advice, my daughter just went to the middle/high school and she has no phone, the last week they have cancelled or dismissed her sports early and we had no way to reach each other, im looking for the most feicible and money sensitive way to get my daughter a phone..i have verizon and pay 54$ a month. any tips and suggestions are apprecationed..
Look into Tracfone. I think there was a deal for one of their phones not too long ago. The phone and service are relatively inexpensive and there’s no contract
go talk to verizon some carriers offer cheap non smart phones and its like 10$ a line
Niki – we have 6 family members and I have 3 kids that have to use phones due to after school activities. We went with Cricket recently and the service is great! We do the bring your own phone deal and group save and only pay $97.33 month for 5 lines which is less than $20 a line for unlimited talk/text and 2.5 GB data! We own our own phones that we bought on groupon or on amazon. Also if you have your own phone that works with Verizon then you can switch to page plus which is a pay as you go plan that goes through verizon. Cricket goes through AT&T.
I can give you alot more information if you want it. I’ve checked into alot of phone plans & cricket is the best deal if you have smart phones and a few lines because of their group save plan. If you have the older cell phones you can still get a really good price through page plus for only $10 – $12/month, but that only works for the old slide phones or flip phones those plans will not work with the smart phones. Hope this helps a little bit!!
Thank you tresa can you text me or email me? 9788952575 or nikicoleman33atgmaildotcom!!!thanks in advance
My daughter uses tracfone (we got the phone for like $1 or $3 from last year near black friday promotion). Then I signed her up the cheapest plan $19/3 months 60mim/60text/don’t remember how much data but her phone have triple the minutes & text for free so she gets 180 min/180 text/data. If you do auto-refill then it only cost $17.99 or $6/month. Just have her only turn on data when there is no wi-fi around to save data. All left over minutes and texts will carry over unless you don’t renew by the expiration date that’s why auto-refill is great.
I strongly suggest PagePlus. They have phones that cost $10 and refurbs for $5. They have pay-as-you-go plans for $10 and you pay this amount every 120 days; These minutes rollover as well. If you run out of minutes in these 120 days, you can just buy another $10 airtime. They use Verizon.
Another option is H2O Wireless. They use AT&T and GSM devices. They have a pay-as-you-go plan for $10 every 90 days.
These are very cheap options if you just need a phone for emergencies. They all include voice, text, and data.
does anyone know if this will work through Cricket as well since their service is through At&T?
