American Express Cardholders: Possible Statement Credits For Shopping At Etsy, Staples & More
Calling all American Express Cardholders!
Log in to your American Express account and check the “Amex Offers & Benefits” section as you may have offers to save at several stores including a rare offer for Etsy plus an offer to save at Staples that includes non-Staples (plastic) gift cards! These offers can also be added to your account through Twitter. Check out the details below…
Etsy
Through 12/31/16, get a one time $8 statement credit when you use your enrolled card to spend a minimum of $40 or more in one or more transactions at Etsy.com/featured/dream-it-buy-it. While supplies last, tweet using #AmexEtsy to add this offer to your connected American Express Card.
If you order an item during the offer period but it is not shipped until after 12/31/2016, it may not count towards determining whether the purchase qualifies for the offer.
Staples
Through 12/31/16, get a one time $20 statement credit when you use your enrolled card to spend a minimum of $100 or more in one or more transactions at Staples.com (valid online only). Note that you CAN use this on non-Staples, plastic gift cards but it is not valid on Staples e-gift cards. While supplies last, tweet using #AmexStaples to add this offer to your connected American Express Card.
This offer does not include Quill, Smilemaker, Staples Business Advantage, Staples 4 Government, Staples Toner Services, Staples Technology Solutions, Staples Promotional Products, Staples Print Solutions, Copy and Printing Services, Staples Contract and Commercial, Staples App Center, Staples Industrial, Staples Book Rental, Staples Simplexity, Staples Share Fund, Coastwide Labs, Catalog and Staples Fundraising.
Boston Market
Through 12/24/16, get a one time $5 statement credit when you use your enrolled card to spend a minimum purchase of $25 or more, in restaurant AND for food orders placed online (excludes other online purchases) at participating locations, in a single transaction. Includes phone orders. Tweet using #AmexBostonMkt to add this offer to your connected American Express Card.
Cole Haan
Through 12/31/16, get a one-time $50 statement credit by using your enrolled card to spend a minimum of $200 or more on full priced items in one or more transactions in-store at Cole Haan (participating locations only) or online at colehaan.com. Tweet using #AmexColeHaan to add this offer to your connected American Express Card.
(Thanks, Lee!)
I think the Staples offer is good on non-Staples e-gift cards. It just says that it excludes Staples branded e-gift cards.
Also, to apply the offer to all of your Amex cards that show the offer, open a new browser window for each account and select that account (so you have an open window for each account) and THEN add the offer to each account. If you only have one account open, it will add the offer to that account and then that offer will disappear on your other accounts.
Great tip. Did not know that. Thank you!
Gap Options cards are 20% off at staples.com. Deal idea: Buy one $100 for $80 and one $25 for $20. Pay $100 get back $20 credit from Amex. Your getting $125.00 for only $80.00!!!

There’s also an Amazon promo going on. It’s $25 off a $50 purchase when you use some of your rewards points to pay on Amazon. I did it last night. I only used 200 Amex rewards points as a partial payment and was given $25 off my $50 purchase. Pretty awesome!
Maggie, where can I find info about that? Thanks!
Yes Maggie I would like to know too how this works.
I guess it’s a targeted promo — only certain Amazon users get it and it’s only for products sold by Amazon. Here are the instructions I found online:
If you Membership Rewards earning card is already linked this might work.
Go to Amazon.com
Add $50 or more of eligible products sold and shipped by Amazon.com to your shopping cart
Enter the promo code AMEX16EVER in the box provided on the checkout page and pay for at least a portion of your order (as little as 1 MR point) with Membership Rewards points
Up to $25 of savings will be reflected on the final order checkout page
I also got
The Washington Post
Spend $50 or more, get $50 back

AmEx also offers cash back for Boxed.com from time to time (I currently have a $15 cash back on $50 purchase offer) AND Ibotta has a cash back offer as well. My first order was a steal! I highly recommend checking them out :)AmEx customers also get a free upgrade to Boxed Bold, which gives you free shipping on orders $20+. Use my link to sign up: https://boxed.com/invite/ltoci or just enter code ltoci to get $15 off your first $60 purchase.
They have Disney Gift Cards too!!
Itunes gift cards are 15% off on Staples, so $150 in gcs amounted to $107.50 after the Amex offer (for which I’ve already received a confirmation email). Plus I used Shop at Home for 6% cash back.
No cash-back via Shop at Home (or any other rebate sites) on gift card purchases.
Staples.com has Gap Options cards for 20% off. Deal idea: Buy one $100 for $80 and one $25 for $20, pay $100 get $20 credit. Like getting $125.00 Gap Options for $80.00!!!

Tina, inform us when you get the statement credit.
I did same with hayneedle.com offer. I bought a gift certificate for $150, and bought kitchen aid artisan for $279, added drawer organizer for $21, paid with my husband’s amex card. Like I bought mixer for $220, and received a free meat grinder attachment as a rebate. I hope it works for staples too.
It worked!
Have you got credit?
I received the email from Amex thanking me for using the staples offer. If hasnt posted to my account yet. Probably tomorrow
