I just had a hunch that B&N might finally be reducing their clearance from 50% to 75% off, so I stopped in this morning at opening time. The signs still say 50% off in the store windows, but the staff was actually in the process of marking things down as I walked in. Not all items were already reduced, but they will be soon. The staff said a lot of items that were supposed to be 75% were still registering at only 50% off when scanned, and they were removing those items from the 75% off area.
I was able to score some nice bar glasses (reg. $21.95), a Melissa and Doug puzzle (reg. $12.95) and a Kaleido Gears set (reg. $29.95) all for 75% off plus my B&N member discount. There were lots of Halloween and Christmas items, including some fun stocking stuffers like coupon booklets. Star Wars and Finding Dory string lights, Disney character notebooks, journals, and diaries, collector ornaments, craft kits, tote bags, blankets, toys, and other items were on the clearance tables as well. I didn’t see any really big ticket items at my store as I have sometimes in the past, but I found it was worth the trip.

B&N is doing clearance differently. Toys, gift, and cafe gife are the only items reduced to 75%, books are remaining at the 50%.

Most clearance books were 50% off, but there were some adult coloring books and other craft type things for 75% off. Be sure to check your receipt though because some things on the %75 off table were still ringing up at 50%. Had to physically walk the manager over to the table to show there were several items like I was buying on the 75% table before she would honor the price. Was able to pick up Frozen figurenes, Elf on the shelf dresses and a micro racers toy.
There wasn’t quite as much at our B&N, but I was able to score some good cheap stuff for our upcoming PTA raffle. I got 17 items for $30. I’d add a picture to show, but I can’t seem to see how to.
Nothing good left at my store. I did pick up some magnets, but the cashier said they weren’t on sale. So, I said ok and left empty handed. I wasn’t going to argue with her, but the box was all smushed and not in good shape, I am not even certain everything was in it. Their loss.
That Elf on the Shelf is only 50% at my store. There was a good bit of Halloween, some Christmas (primarily chocolate Advent calendars), and Hanukkah stuff. Some odd crafts–painting rocks (instructions and rocks included!)–some creepy girl dolls, and odds and ends.
I got playmobil dragon and knight for $6.74, regularly 29.95, that was a fun find!
I got a bunch of STEM toys, the Wowee Coder MiP and Ozobot Evo for $24.99 each, and a VEX Robotics Pick and Drop Ball Machine for $9.99. B&N membership drops the price by another 10%.
I got some goodies today, super happy!
