Thank you I needed a new keyboard. My kids talked me into a brown switch mechanical keyboard last Black Friday and I love it. However, I just spilled a Dr Pepper on it a few weeks ago and now a few of the keys don’t work. Lesson learned …no open containers by the computer for me … lol.
Oh bummer… you’re so welcome Barbara! 😀
Yes the brown cherry mx switches are best for all around use. The thing about true mechanical keyboards are if you damage a switch (key) you can replace just that one key instead of buying a whole new board. Although not sure how much further damage is done with a good dose of Dr P . Lol You can also replace the key caps with colored or specific caps. I bought the Asus Strix keyboard several years ago and it is fantastic for work and play.
About $1 per key ($10 pack of 10) but you need to be mechanically inclined to replace..
Just ordered for my BF he has been looking for one like this for a while, but was always to expensive. Thanks
Happy you could snag the deal! You’re so welcome!
What does it mean brown switch, blue switch red switch keyboard?
I don’t fully understand the switches: but what I’m being told by my son: Blue switch makes a louder clicking noise when typing and more stiffer than the red ( so it will make a lot of noise- not good in office setting or dorm room). Red switch is more quieter & seems the preferred switch for most gamer’s.
One interesting point that my son brought out was that these are made for more extensive typing and will hold up a lot longer.
But these keyboards have just basic programming so you can’t change functions for individual games & you can not change the colors on the keys: not an issue for me since it will replace my basic keyboard at home.
Also 4/3: they are still on sale: since Amazon and NewEgg has these listed at 77.00- 81.00 then its still a good price even without the 15% discount.
