Happy Friday: Spreading Joy through Donations
Sent from reader, Katie:
Hi Collin! I follow your site and LOVE all of the good deals you post! Last year, I donated a bunch of new items to a local women’s shelter on Mother’s Day to (hopefully) light up a mom’s special day. This year I planned to do the same, though I’m delivering it early this year because we are moving. But check out everything I was able to collect over the past couple months from using your site!!!
Yes, that’s 5 new sheet sets, diapers, feminine needs, toothpaste, razors with cartridges, 5 bath towels, and many wash cloths, 3 cozy blankets, 11 bra & panty sets, shampoo and so much more for less than $150! Thank you for all you do!!
HAPPY FRIDAY!
Do you have a funny, “Hip”, or unique photo to share?! Email us at happyfriday@hip2save.com. Every Friday, we post one photo, submitted by a Hip2Save reader, that gives us a glimpse into their frugal lifestyle or simply makes us smile. If your photo is published on Hip2Save, we’ll email you a $10 Amazon e-card!
I have been loving all the donation videos on youtube and posts as well. Every little bit counts and each individual can make a difference in someone else’s life. Thank you.
You’re welcome!
Absolutely 💚💜💙 this!!! Kindness and a giving heart go a long ways! How blessed the recipients will be!
I have found my ways to donate all the items items I get for cheap too… My husband says its “spending for a purpose”. I just found yet another fundraiser to donate items too😊
What a great saying! Thanks for sharing Michelle!
That is so awesome. So nice to see all the good you can do with the deals from Hip2Save. God bless you for giving so much to those who really need it. It’s such a ray of sunshine when I read these types of posts because it proves that love and compassion are alive and well. And being a Christian, on Good Friday this is a great post to end the evening.
This is such a Blessing! Thank you for sharing!!
You’re welcome!
Because of Collin and her Crew, I am able to stock my gift closet every year with books, toys, and school supplies. Whatever is left at Thanksgiving time gets donated to the toy drive, the book bank, and the school supply bank (for our local teachers to access).
That’s awesome to hear Deb! Thank you for sharing!
Caring hearts are everywhere! Love to hear about all the good donation efforts. Agree; couponing also allows me to give back in so many ways. I donate to the high school’s helping pantry (food & toiletries) for low income families in need, Easter basket items for the children staying at Ronald McDonald house, & many organizations our Girl Scout troop & council supports throughout the year including pet rescue missions. All these stories of giving back to the community are SO inspiring!
So generous and what wonderful stuff.
I use Collins (and comment contributions from all of her readers) coupon deals to help buy items we use and sell at our concession stand during public events. All proceeds go to St. Jude’s and the local veterans.
I think you all are amazing! Don’t stop what you are doing…any of you. The comments you leave are helpful. Sometimes more than you know. Thank you for helping me, help others.
That is wonderful that you care for others. Many blessings to you. For you seem to be a good soul.
Couponing and especially Hip2save.com has enabled me to donate as well. I usually give to “Pathways,” a local drop-in center for the homeless and mentally ill in Orlando. Thanks for everyone at Hip2save for all you do by finding us these deals, making it possible for us to share with those less fortunate.
Love it! ❤️❤️
Awesome
I appreciate reading these posts to counteract some of the negatives in the news and internet. Nice community. Thank you Collin, Hip2Save team and the great community of readers, savers, couponers and donators!
You’re welcome! 😉
What a Blessing you are to do many who may have nothing otherwise! Most that show up to places like that literally have only the clothes on their backs. New undergarments, fresh sheets & towels, & a blanket to wrap up in certainly can start a Women’s new life off in comfort. Feeling helpless, alone and afraid and receiving gifts of comfort from a caring stranger may just change a life
God Bless all with a charitable ❤️ and you too shall be blessed
I would like some tips on how to get started with donating goodies. I’ve donated clothes to the nearest donation bin, but I don’t know how to donate other things. I have many unopened baby formula cans from samples that I no longer need and have no idea what to do with them. I also have a ton of new razors, deodorants, and household essentials that I would like to give away. I would appreciate any help in this subject matter.
Literally just Google food pantries in your area….women’s shelters, men’s shelters…church pantries…
You could always look up charities at taxexempt.com or search local charities on google and look up some your not familiar with because there are some great charities that I’m sure they can use whatever you have. You could always get involved with local churches or with a school principal and they can always tell you a need someone has and you can create a basket.
Foster care agencies love donations! Call your local DHS office or just google foster care agencies in your area. They can always use formula, diapers, kids clothing, shoes, backpacks, etc. Most agencies have a “Help Closet” for kids who come into care with nothing.
our local woman’s shelter often needs baby formula, sheets, pillows and feminine hygiene products in addition to any personal care items
Yep, I donate quite a bit too. Pay pennies on the dollar for stuff that we either don’t use or can’t use in time. My latest donation was 15 bottles of laundry detergent to my local humane society. 🙂 it saw a call out on facebook for it and delivered it the next day. 🙂
GOD bless all your big Souls and Happy Easter everyone! !!
Reading this made my day! How generous and kind of you to do this, and very inspiring!
If you like doing random acts of kindness then maybe you will be interested in this. Check it out https://secretbluebutterfly.com It’s not my website. I just found it very interesting and joined the cause. It’s free and very fulfilling.
That’s so inspiring and nice of you! Thanks for sharing
YW!
As someone who spent time living at a women’s shelter, I want to thank all of you for your generous donations. When a women checks into a shelter because of an abusive situation, she often has time to collect only the bare necessities before fleeing from her home. Having these products available at no cost means one less burden to worry about during a very stressful time. May God bless each of you!
I too love being able to give back even more than I normally would be able to b/c of Hip2Save deals and using coupons. I love reading these stories; we can all use some uplifting news from time to time!
wow this is so sweet! <3
