I have a business account for my llc with us bank. Does anyone know if that makes me ineligible for this promo?
I work for a different bank and when we do promotions like this you would be considered a “new personal banking customer” and we would honor the deal. I would think most other banks would as well because your personal accounts being brought over bring even more business 😊
Thanks so much for posting this. I was getting ready to open an account for my daughter. Glad I waited!!
Perfect! You’re very welcome Lauren!
I have been looking for an offer like this (new bank incentive), but the reviews for US Bank are horrible … Like 1 star horrible. Has anyone had a personal experience?
I have had them as my primary bank account for 15+ years with no problem. But I make sure to follow all of the rules which for me is easy as that is my main account.
My business rents space to them and they’re not only good people but people from all over town come to their branch and drive our business. I’m a small town in the south, though. I had never considered them when I was back in SoCal.
I’ve banked with US for 5+ years. Have had no problems at all. The best bank I’ve had.
Looks like all of the accounts have monthly fees.
The silver is waived if you have direct deposits of $1000 each month. I use them as my primary account for bill paying – like the mortgage – so it’s pretty easy.
Does anyone know what the fees are?
You’ll pay taxes on it though.
Yeah but even if your tax rate was 50% you would still have more money than $0.
LMAO…..But true!
Chase also does this – they have a $500 bonus when you open a checking and savings account. just go to their website for details.
You know, I would be tempted to open an account with them to get the $200. But the problem is that to avoid monthly service fees you also have to have a savings account which currently only pays .04%. It wouldn’t take long for them to recoup the $200 in monthly fees.
” ” ” Have a Package Money Market Savings Account
AND EITHER
Combined monthly direct deposits totaling $1,000+
OR
A combined average account balance of $1,500+
You can always close the account when you get the reward.
If I’ve read the rules correctly….
Fund a Silver Checking account (no savings) with +$85.00
Make two online bill pay transactions of $25 within the first two months -$50
Pay monthly fee until rewards deposited -$34.75
**Collin indicates this would happen within 60 days of requirements being fulfilled, which you have 60 days to do. If it takes you 60 days to fulfill the requirements we’ll assume you’ll pay four monthly fees (threw a fifth one in there to be safe)**
Get rewards +$200
*****CLOSE ACCOUNT*******
Total “free” money: $165
The two bill pay transactions should be payments you were going to make anyway and come from your initial deposit. Your only true cost is the monthly fee, and if you fulfill the requirements right away, and the rewards are deposited two months later, then you would have at most three months instead of five of fees.
Option 2: (assuming direct deposits of $500+ each)
Open Silver Checking account +$25
Open Package Money Market Savings account +$25
switch direct deposit to new US Bank Silver checking account +$1000+ (2 $500+ direct deposits)
Transfer direct deposit back to your normal account -$1000+
Monthly fee waived because you have both the checking and savings accounts AND have direct deposits of at least $1000
Get reward (qualifying event = two direct deposits of $500+) +$200
Switch your direct deposit back to regular bank.
Transfer remaining balances out and close accounts.
Total “free” money = $200
Never heard of that bank
Just found that if you’re in the military or were previously in the military they waive all fees on their Platinum account!!
Oh cool! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Sheila! My family will be happy for the lunch today!!
I just did this at Huntington Bank. You have to open the account and drop $1000 into it within 60 days. I opened the account with $1000 and in 10 days they dropped $200 into it. It was really easy. No tricks or direct deposits to deal with. It was the quickest $200 with no strings ever.
Is this promotion still in effect? I didn’t see it on the website. I agree it is much easier.
yes. they just re-upped the promotion through october. Just google Huntington cash back promotion. You have them send a promo code which you print and bring to the bank. My son just signed up too.
I did the Huntington offer too. The money I have in there is my current vacation money.
Do you have to be present in a branch to close the account or can you close it over the phone?

So you have to wait for your ATM card to arrive in the mail before you can create an online account and pay bills??
I did this and got the money within 3 weeks, but there’s no info on their website about how to close the account. Does anyone know how to close it without having to call them?
Is the offer one per household? My wife got this offer, can I apply and get it too?
