Our Costco is set to open in October, so this is perfect timing! Can’t wait to see what Costco is all about 😊
What is everyone’s favorite thing to buy there?

    • Angela

Their pre-packaged food like stuffed bell peppers, Mac and cheese, and ready to cook things like the salmon and Korean bulgogi (beef)! Love love love their food court too! You’ll love Costco!

    • Lacy

So many things!! Clothing, produce, meat, toilet paper, they have a restaurant size roll of aluminum foil for $20 that will last me a few years, so many more things!!

    • Steph

      The entire store! 😂

    • Hashin

I love their produce, huge selection of it is organic. We get their butter (because I swear it never goes in sale when I’m out!), frozen chicken breasts (they are enormous and individually packed), frozen fish, milk is generally cheaper unless you hit a good sale, and prescriptions.

    • Danielle

      Awesome!! Thanks everyone! I’m excited!

Also, when I went in to get my card I asked to be upgraded to the Executive membership and got a $40 cash card, plus if you buy contacts and glasses thru their optometrist it counts towards your 2% back every year!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Awesome! Thanks for the feedback Lacy!

Bought one for my elderly mom. Costco has a great hearing aide dept. we’ll be going next week. Another thing to buy – decorated cakes are about half the cost of anywhere else.

    • Heather C

They also have a great eye department with their own eye doctor on hand!

  4. Liz

…if only for their yummy pumpkin pies.

    • s.

My husband loves those too! 🙂

  5. Mirela

Yes yes all of the above…..And whole roasted chicken for $4.99!!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      YUM!

  6. Amy

It looks to be only $35.63 in free product coupons plus $20 cash card and $25 and $75 online credits for a total of a $215.63 value including membership. Still a great deal!

  7. kassandra

How long is this offer going on till. Dont have the funds for it yet.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Hi there! I am not finding an end date listed. It appears to be for a limited time only. Hope this helps!

I got the membership but ended up with the executive card. So, I paid another $60. $120 altogether. That gives me $40 cash card (by getting the membership and then upgrading to executive)But the lady said at the end of the year I should receive a bonus check from shopping at Costco and if I didn’t make it to $60 then they will refund me the $60. Then I also ended up getting their credit card which gave me another $20 cash card. Now if my math is right it’ll be like getting it all for free.

    Paid $120
Will be receiving $60 Cash card and
If I don’t get a $60 check at the end of the year they will refund my $60

It appears the 3 free Kirkland products are those listed not in addition to the $35. When I first read your post I thought I would get coupons for $35 Kirkland products plus the paper towels, drinks and pizza so I wanted to clarify if others made the same assumption.

    • Jess

      Agreed!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for the heads up! That detail has been updated!

  10. PW

I have a free Costco pizza coupon looking to trade for $10 JCP coupon. Leave email if interested. Thanks

    • Tori Chauvin

I have a J.C. Penney coupon to trade

      • PW

        What is your email?

  11. Jess

To be clear: there are only three free products, not six as one may interpret on this post. The three free Kirkland Signature items pictured: paper towels, water and pizza. Not what I would consider an “epic” deal as I don’t generally shop for larger quantities for my small family, I probably wouldn’t spend over $250 on the site and I for sure (unfortunately) won’t use the $75 travel credit, BUT if your vehicle will need tires within the next year, go for it! 😄 Even if you only use the $20 cash card, you’re still getting the membership for $40 which is normally $60. Yes, regular Gold Star membership cost is $60 a year.

    • Jd

Boo hip2save, very misleading! Thanks for that clarification Jess.. def not a good enough deal.

      • Swirlypop

If you purchase the $60 membership you will receive cash card and coupons for free items. This makes the membership around $5. Its an awesome deal for costco!

        • Jd

That’s all relative, don’t you think? I’d only use the paper towels coupon, so no, not a good enough deal for all thank you 🙂

    • Angie (Sweet Sidekick)

Thanks, Jess! The post has been updated. Sorry for the confusion!

  12. Rebecca

Is there any benefit to purchasing through ibotta?

  13. Vicky

Do you get the cash card and coupons when you sign up at the store or do they mail them to you?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Hi Vicky! Here is what I found in the details – “Coupons will be mailed to the address provided by purchaser within 4 weeks after redeeming your voucher online. Costco Cash Card will be mailed within 4-6 weeks after presenting the Costco Membership Activation Certificate for a Costco Gold Star Membership at a physical Costco location. Costco.com and Costco Travel coupons will arrive in the coupon book mailed to the purchaser.” Hope this helps!

    • Jan

I just got the coupons in the mail about five days after signing up. Have not received the $20 gift card yet though.

  14. Faith

Just activated mine yesterday and man are the membership folks a hard sell on upgrading to the executive level membership! I had to say no thanks at least a dozen times lol. I did the quick math in my head and even to make up the extra $40 in cost beyond the $20 extra cash card I’d have to spend $2000 and not that I don’t spend that at the grocery store easily a year, Costco is not local so not where I do a majority of shopping not to mention I coupon a ton for groceries and stockpile so I couldn’t imagine spending that much there unless I had a major purchase to consider….just beware-they’ll sell hard lol! That prepared mac n cheese though…might have purchased the membership just for that 🙈😂🤷🏼‍♀️

    • yvette

OMG, yes they do sell hard. I was really frustrated getting my card. They wanted me to upgrade to executive and get the credit card, if I did that I would get another $40 cash card. After 20 times saying no, I finally said yes to get the executive but no credit card. They guaranteed that if I don’t get the $120 back on my rebate check. I will the $60 back. I might just change it anyway, I am sure I will not spend $3000 there. They are like car sales people. I just wanted a membership. This deal is very good though.

Does anyone know when we get the $20 cash card I got the 3 coupon freebies and such but not cash card yet just curious when I would receive it or who to contact if I don’t. Thanks
