I use mine almost daily and it does sit on my kitchen island. It is kinda big and bulky sitting there but I really don’t have a choice! You can do soo much in a little amount of time. Yesterday, I had forgotten to take out a chicken breast to fix my hubby for lunch to take to work, and I was able to put in the cooker FROZEN and it cooked in less than 20 minutes. I did baked potatoes the other day and didn’t have to heat up my oven & house for an hour! It really is a time saver.
I bought the 8 quart a month ago. Having never used a pressure cooker I was a little nervous…but I LOVE it! So many features, so easy to use!
I recently bought the 6 quart and I love it. I cook for 4 and it’s the right size. I do regret not buying the 8 quart since I like to cook extra food to freeze for later.
Last time you posted this deal, I bought the 6 quart.. I’ve used it so much, sometimes 3 or 4 times a day so I just bought the 8 quart. Now I have 2 of them and I can use them both at the same time!!! I can’t wait until it gets here. Thanks Colin!!
Pressure cookers are the best! I cooked ribs and they turned out amazing.
YUM!! That’s awesome to hear!
How do I know what size to get, I have a family of four! Thank you
The 6 qt size will be plenty for you. The 8 is humongous.
How much food do you really get out of the 6 qt though? I’ve got a 15 year old who’s doubled our grocery bill, I am afraid “feeds a family of four” doesn’t take teenaged boys into account. lol
I LOVE my 8 qt. I have a family of five.
Family of five (including 2 teenage boys and three runners- so they are always hungry. The 6 quart is pretty much perfect. The only time we came close to filling it up was with soup, but it made so much we didn’t end up eating it all anyway. We did buy the 8 quart for when our families come over. It is reallly huge!
What is the difference between a pressure cooker and a crock pot? I use my crock pot a lot to make dinner while I’m at work. Would a pressure cooker work in the same sense? Seems like they’re all I’ve heard about this year so fill me in what the big deal is! 🙂
JLuck6 – A pressure cooker is the opposite of a slow cooker. With a pressure cooker, you put the ingredients in the pot, and in a matter of minutes, dinner is done. You can saute in many of them, eliminating extra pots and pans. Many pressure cookers can be used as slow cookers, also. It can also replace many kitchen appliances such as rice cooker, yogurt maker. I don’t have an Instant Pot. I bought a less expensive brand. I don’t see that as necessary. Once you use one, you’ll probably be hooked. HTH
Thank you for your description. I was thinking that I wouldn’t get an InstaPot because of having a few crock pots, but this may come in very handy after all.
I’m hesitant to spend the money on the Instant Pot, would you be willing to share what brand you bought? Thanks 🙂
HAHA I meant Instant Pot (NOT pressure cooker) vs Crock Pot. Maybe I’m just really confused lol
An Instant Pot is an electric pressure cooker. She was telling you all it does. Slow cooking is a feature, but I like it better bc I can decide dinner at the last minute and make a 15-30 minute dinner from scratch!
The Instant Pot IS a pressure cooker, it’s electric vs stove top. Instant Pot is just the name brand. You can do a lot with it, as cynthsherm stated.
Wonderful! Thanks for the input!
My daughter, who is my caregiver, was terrified of the pressure cooker. I showed her how safe it was. One day, she was running very late for getting supper started. She threw the ingredients in the pot, set it all up. Started it. And ran away. She was certain that the whole house was going to explode. Fast forward several months. Virtually every meal is now cooked in the pressure cooker. She wants the 8 qt Instant Pot for Christmas.
thank you! So it cooks a meal super fast.
How cool! Super glad to hear she has grown more comfortable cooking with the pressure cooker! Thanks so much for sharing your experience!
Thank you so much for posting this deal the other day! I’ve been waiting on a good deal to finally make the leap! Got it with in-store pickup the other day (unfortunately I never got the extra $5 Kohl’s cash, but still a great deal!). Can’t wait to start using it!
Make sure to check the email you should have received immediately after pick up. The subject line of my email said “Thanks for your in-store pick up order!” I nearly deleted this email, but it contains the extra $5 bar code.
Did you see the $5 when you placed the order?
You’re most welcome Shannon! Hoping you can still grab your $5 Kohl’s cash as reader Alicia has suggested!
I bought this last week (same deal) but I never had the pop-up for $5 extra Kohl’s cash for store pick-up. Still a great deal though.
I took advantage of this fantastic deal but didn’t realize I needed to turn off my pop-up blocker so I didn’t receive the additional $5 off for picking up my Instant Pot in store 🙁 So sad
I got one for my young adult son. Can anyone recommend a good instant pot cookbook with great, easy recipes and lots of pictures. (I realize there are plenty of recipes online and Pinterest and Facebook groups, but he wouldn’t bother with those.)
Great food fast by warden (or warren?)
I keep debating if I should get one. One friend says she prefers the slow cooker but another one says she’s hooked on the instant pot. Can you start something before leaving for work and leave it unattended for the day?
With a slow cooker, you can put your ingredients in and let it slowly cook all day, so dinner is ready when you get home.
With a pressure cooker, you put your ingredients in when you get home and dinner is ready in about 30 minutes. Both are great!
Also, the Instant Pot has the ability to be a slow cooker too, it’s one of its many great features.
Ohhh, I didn’t know that. That will be nice instead of having to swap the instant pot and slow cooker back and forth. The big draw for me was the fact that sometimes I forget to defrost my meat the day before so then I don’t want to toss it in the slow cooker frozen. I heard that’s not a problem with the instant pot.
I’ve read mixed reviews on the ‘slow cooker’ feature on the pressure cookers. It doesn’t cook the same like a dedicated crock pot. Since getting my pressure cooker, I haven’t even pulled the crock pot out of my pantry!
I would swear anyone who prefers a slow cooker has not learned how to use their instant pot. There is no comparison in my opinion. I cook yogurt, rice, soup, hard boiled eggs (HELLO where have you been all my life), and frozen meats. It’s the 2nd most amazing tool in my kitchen….only second to me.
Does the $5 store pickup pop up on he app or web version? I’ve never gotten it and it is In stock at my store
Hi Lauren! I find the pop up to appear when using Chrome on my laptop. Hope this helps!
Thank you!
YW!
I could not get the pop up to come up. I tried through the app, mobile, and using my laptop using chrome as suggested. I ordered anyway because this is a fantastic deal that I could not pass up. I even had $10 Kohls cash to use on this purchase for signing up for paperless billing. Ended up being only $56 😀
Does anyone have an opinion regarding which is better between the 7-in-1 and the 10-in-1 instant pot?
I would choose the 7-in-1. The 10-in-1 uses “smart” technology. It looks cool, but as I understand it, this means that it requires computer coding to customize cooking programs. With the 7-in-1 you can choose a setting and a time and let it go.
I need to break down and get me one of these
I got this last week after all discounts and gift card from Groupon and ebates%. I paid $35 which is a steal . make sure to watch you tube channels and join their Facebook community it’s a game changer . you can do pot in pot cooking. Make cheese cake and boil eggs perfectly . I love it and it’s only day 3 of using it. Thanks Collin love ya girl.
Wow! Amazing score for sure!! Thanks for the kind words Crystal! You’re very welcome! 😉
Has anyone purchased this deal? My cart total = $66.77 (Reg. $99, w/FREE4MVC = -8.95, HOME10= -$10.00, FALL30 = -27.00, total $66.77 – what am I missing? Thanks for your help!
That is with tax right? Hers doesn’t include tax bc every state is different
If I use the app, will the $5 Kohls cash offer for free in store pickup be applied? Or should I order through the website?
I did this deal last week and am pretty excited about it! GREAT idea for upcoming birthday and holidays! 🙂
We just got a pressure cooker, and are still working through the kinks of cooking, but has been pretty good so far!
Awesome to hear that!
I ordered for in-store pick up. I didn’t receive the $5 Kohl’s cash for picking up in store either. Next time I’ll skip that and have it delivered free to home. Waiting in line at the store for pick up is way too much of a hassle. Check one Xmas gift off the list though.
Please help. can not get the home10 to work
Oh bummer! HOME10 is still working for me. Are you able to try a different browser? I had luck when using Chrome. Hoping that helps!
These Kohls cardholder deals are KILLING me! I don’t want a Kohls credit card but I feel like I need to get one!
I got three of these last week with in store pick up and do not see anything about an extra $5. How do I get this?
Hi there! Be sure your pop up blocker is turned off and add the item to your cart as if you want it shipped. You should then receive a pop up with the offer. Hoping you can grab it!
We use ours several times a week, love it!
This was one of my favorite deals ever. I used the 10.00 off Home then the 30% off then I had free shipping. I had also bought a 20.00 ecard off Groupon awhile ago for 10.00. Then I received 10.00 kohls cash. I ended up only paying 37.00 and I also have a 5.00 yes to you reward to use. I used the Instapot tonight to make shredded tacos. It took 13 minutes. They were delicious
Love my instant pot!!! It makes the perfect fall off the bone chicken!!
I have this and am still working to get past my fear of pressure cooking. Guess I grew up in the era when moms would yell, “Stay away from the stove or the pressure cooker could hurt you.” I cooked a whole chicken (cut in half) in mine and while it tasted good, it fell completely apart as I took it out of the cooker.
Thank you! I love my instant pot so much that I’m “upsizing” to the 8 quart. It is such a time saver for busy people who aren’t super enthused about cooking. I’ll pass my smaller one onto my mother in-law who loved using mine this summer during a visit.
If you have an ALDI nearby they have little pans that fit inside for cakes, etc. I am also going to check out the DAISO when I go to California as I heard they have little pans too!
Is the $5 pop up still working?
I did this deal with the store pick up and didn’t notice until I got home that they didn’t give me my kohls cash. Can I just contact customer service?
Good deal for 6qt but never got a $5 Kohl’s cash for in-store pickup. Does apply 62 points to your reward account. 100 pts = $5 reward st end of month.
I purchased the pressure cooker with my Kohl’s card. How do I retrieve my Kohl’s cash?
