We got dollar tree Christmas mailboxes and used those for advent. Each morning the flag would be up and a small item was in it. Kids went crazy over it. We did a soda can one day as a soda is a rare treat for the kids.
I do this at valentines. My kids get “mail” each day of February leading up to valentines.
