This is a great deal. I love mine! I have had a lot of fun making vinyl decals, tshirts, party decorations for my granddaughter’s first birthday party, wall decals for our church, and so many other things.

I got one for Christmas and am having difficulty figuring it out. How did you learn what to do? I’m soo intimidated by it!

      • Kim

NB, don’t be! Watch some YouTube videos or if you are on Facebook, search for Silhouette groups. There are groups that can help you learn your machine. The best thing is to just start messing with it! Good luck! I love mine 🙂

          Thank you!!!!

I just got one a few weeks ago from Zulily. I’m also intimidated by it, I’m not sure where to start lol.

      • CathyS

I learned a lot from youtube videos. There are so many that show step by step how to do different projects.

Silhouette school blog is a great resource.

I would recommend silhouetteschoolbog.com. Melissa has a step by step tutorial for just about everything you could imagine doing with a silhouette! I follow her on facebook too. Great place to start.

  3. Holly

Thanks Kimberly, I will check that out!

    Silhouette or circut???
Any suggestions? I’m looking mostly to label and maybe do T-shirt’s.

    • Kim

From people who have owned both, they say Silhouette. Some of these details may not be exact, but from what I recall, Cricut has some software that requires you to have an internet connection to use it, Silhouette’s do not. There are other reasons but that is the one that I hear about the most. And what Jessa says below is correct: do not use the Cricut brand vinyl! Siser Easyweed is really good and won’t frustrate you and discourage you from creating stuff.

I’ve been wanting a Silhouette Cameo for years! When I logged into my Zulily account, I had a 15% off $40+ purchase (not sure why!), which applied to this. I was able to get it for $176.94 shipped, so I finally pulled the trigger. So excited!!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Oh sweet! Happy you could score the additional savings!

    • jill

Thank you- I’ve been thinking about getting one for 2 months, but still on the fence- saw your message and signed on to see if just maybe I had the extra 15% and I did! That’s all the push I needed to go ahead and get one lol 😀 And I got an extra $2 off if I would let them send me emails again!

      • Sarah

        Yay!! I’m so glad. 🙂

  6. Jessa

I absolutely love my silhouette and found it pretty easy to learn. I will say the vinyl that comes with this is terrible so go ahead and do yourself a favor and order some siser easyweed!

    • CathyS

      I agree

    • Natalie

Siser for htv (heat transfer vinyl or iron on). Oracle for permanent or removable adhesive vinyl. I agree about cricut vibyl… it’s not great for much.

      • Jessa

Yes!! Sorry I should have specified that! I’m really into shirts right now so htv is on my mind 😂

  7. Alese

Y’all jump in this deal!! I paid about $60 more for mine. Totally worth every penny ❤️

  8. Brittany

I’ve wanted a Silhouette for the past few years. I finally gave in and ordered! Thanks for posting!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Awesome!! Super cool you could score one today Brittany!! You’re most welcome!

  9. Nina

So does this basically do everything the cricut 2 does and more? With the exception of WiFi not being necessary for the Silhouette. I’ll have to do my research. I’m also intimidated by these machines..

  10. Nina

I looked it up and it seems the major difference is the speed between the 2. The cricut 2 is faster and the blades sharper and more precise.

As a graphic designer I love the silhouette. I have mean since they first came out. And you can always get free projects on their website. Learning what depth blade to use with what paper can be a bit of a learning curve but it just takes a little practice. I recommend getting the little spatula for small pieces. It is a life saver.
