I may be a little dense, but is the $15 “discount” you are mentioning the $15 gift card? I am looking at the Deluxe + state for $34.99. On the order summary it says:
Shopping Cart Summary Estimated Total $22.49
Items (2) Subtotal $37.49
Adjustments
Coupons, delivery fee adjustments, other discounts −$15.00
Add $2.51 more for FREE Delivery!
Estimate delivery cost & taxes
You are saving $37.50 on this order.
So will they be sending me a $15 gift card in addition to the $15 “Coupons, delivery fee adjustments, other discounts −$15.00” ?
Thanks!
Hi Pam! It appears you get the $15 discount and earn the $15 Gift Card as listed above. I still find it to work that way as I head through checkout.
“Automatically deducts $15 at checkout
Final cost $24.99 shipped + FREE $15 gift card!”
Hope that helps!
Thank you Amber! Just seemed too good to be true . I always used TaxAct (so very easy to use), but their prices have doubled, so I was checking into the other software. This post came at the perfect time!
You’re very welcome Pam!
Is this product just to organize receipts or do you actually use it to file a return?
I believe the 24.99 is for the federal only version. I purchased federal + state and it was $44.99 – $10.00 = 34.99 + tax. Then $15.00 gift card.
You do your taxes on it you can file up to five federal returns but have to pay to exile state. I always mail my state and get it back within 2 or 3 weeks.

Sorry. I thought I typed e-file. Instead of fefilel and exile!
Thanks Dee for the info!
I spoke with H&R Block representative on the phone and he said if you get free federal, you must pay $19.95 to file state. If you do not have the option of free file with federal, then you pay $9.95 to efile federal, and $9.95 to efile state. So in either case you basically pay $20 to use their efile service. I have never used H&R Block, but I am going to try it this year.
