Consider putting together these ADORABLE graduation cap treats! They’re super easy to make and are a festive and yummy treat for your graduate. You can serve these caps on a tray or use them as fun graduation cupcake toppers instead.
Do you have a 2024 grad this year? I do!
My son is a senior in high school this year and busy doing all the fun senior things. I am hoping to throw him a big party as this is an important milestone that we are excited to celebrate! I cannot believe how fast my kids have grown up and wish time would slow down sometimes just a bit.
Sourcing the ingredients list from the grocery store is easy!
I used various flavors of Ghiradelli chocolate squares for the hats and pull-apart Twizzlers to make a fun tassel. There are different options for candy, so feel free to switch up ingredients if desired. If your graduate has a white graduation cap, consider using the white chocolate squares!
This was a fairly quick craft food project to do and something the family could easily help out with and do together.
Easy Graduation Cap Party Treats
These mini graduation caps are adorable and make for some tasty party treats!

Unwrap the chocolates. Use the icing to "glue" the chocolate square to the mini Reese's.

Apply more icing to the top of the hat and add an M&M. Place a small piece of Twizzler candy as a "tassel" around the M&M.

Place each on a platter or use them as cupcake toppers
Extra tips for making Reese’s graduation caps:
- I used a store-bought bottle of decorating icing that hardens when dried, and it worked very well. I’d use that instead of a softer frosting.
- If you didn’t want to use Twizzlers as a “tassle” consider using another color icing to draw on frosting.
- If there is a nut allergy, instead of Reese’s chocolate cups maybe use Rolos candy instead!
- Starting with very cold chocolate is helpful. I started with room temp and quickly noticed some melting while putting these together.

I tried to pull off a candy bouquet using cake pop sticks, and it was a fail!
This is honestly so cute and fun using styrofoam as the base with tissue paper. I have done this in the past with no problem, but last week I tried it and my Reese’s just sort of slid off on half of them! LOL It was a fail for me. If you have done this recently and have tips I am all ears. Maybe using Rolo candy would have been sturdier!
Cute idea! Since the chocolate squares can get expensive, I’ve used chocolate covered graham crackers. I think Keebler used to sell them and still might!

How about skittles? They come in lots of colors, so you could probably find your school color. Are they peanut free?

How long do I cut the twizzler piece?
Mine were about 2- 3 inches long. It’s up to you 😉
How many days ahead of time can you prepare these?
I would think a day or two in the fridge would be fine. 👍
I used Fruit Roll ups for the tassel. Cut it in s trips. Hole punch a circle for the tassel dot.
