How difficult are they to keep alive. I sm NOT a green thumb lady. I have 3 plants that have lasted 4 years. LOL That’s an accomplishment.
That is a GREAT accomplishment! I don’t have much of a green thumb myself, but I think I need one of these trees!
These are pretty finicky. They need just the perfect amount of light, moisture, fertilizer, pruning, etc., and are a lot of work.
Haha!!! I only have 2 plants (aloe plants) and the only reason they have lasted is because they are in the bathroom and I think the steam from the shower keeps them alive since I NEVER water them. They don’t really grow but they haven’t died either. lol
I got my sister one of these for her birthday and it died within a month. I don’t trust plants from amazon to last very long.

I bought some Christmas catus red and pink off Amazon years ago. They are doing great, got so big I gave a piece off each to my mom.
I find that Bonsai trees are very difficult to take care of. They are very delicate and high maintenance. You have to monitor the tree everyday and make sure it gets enough sun but not too much. Only water when the soil starts to become dry. Never let the soil completely dry out. And then you have to prune them. I LOVE bonsais bu hate the maintenance.

Hi I have owned since a year now. I love the beautiful white flowers on a tiny bonsai tree. I got it from Lowe’s and only need to water once a week. I found that keeping the plant outside not in direct sun works very well.

I had a bonsai tree before, bought it from an old Japanese guy selling them on the side of the road in Sept last year. I just water it daily, take it outside in the morning, and if it gets cold , I take it back in. I’m in SoCal so it’s only cold in the winter at night. I had to go and take care of my mom overseas when she got sick for 2 months. I told my husband to water it every day, it needs sunshine, etc. When I got back, it was brown 🙁
We got the Hawaiian Umbrella bonsai when that was on sale and love it. Going to try the gardenia this go around. Our home offers plenty of light and I water it twice a week. It came well packaged with no damage. I recommend getting a how-to book on bonsais – it will help alleviate any headaches. The Complete Book of Bonsai: A Practical Guide to Its Art and Cultivation by Harry Tomlinson is the one I went with. Hope this information helps – cheers 🙂
