Yes it does need to be replaced at a cost of approx $75. And if you run the fan 8 hours a day, it will need replaced in about 6 months. Ouch!
Dyson states filter should be changed every 6 months if run 24 hours a day and every 12 months if run 12 hours per day. Seems reasonable given the filter cost

Bought the white one this morning for $199.99 less 10% military discount! I have had a Dyson fan for about a year and love it! The filters are $70 on Amazon and need to be replaced every 6-12 months depending on usage. Seems much better than my previous one that was $139.99 and last 3-4 months – that one I bought at Costco.

I called Lowes and rep told me error is because the sale price is $349, not $199 and therefore is causing an error in the system when we are trying to check-out. On her end she was able to add it to her cart for $349.
