Does anyone use this as a baby monitor?
I use these cameras as baby monitors in my sons’ rooms.
Do you have to have the app running and pulled up to hear him during the night?
We bought one of these on Prime Day. We bought it to replace an old Foscam that we were using as a baby monitor until we discovered it was hacked into remotely. When we first plugged this in to install it, the first prompt screen said something to the effect of “we keep all video and audio on our servers indefinitely.” There’s no way to keep this camera on the local network, it’s a WiFi/cloud camera only so it’s vulnerable to hacking. It also doesn’t tilt/pan, and it’s relatively low definition. Ultimately it wasn’t what we were looking for in a baby monitor camera, so it went back. We almost kept it for a security cam at the front door, but decided against it. It may serve some folk’s needs, but didn’t meet ours.
I’m sorry to hear that it didn’t work well for you. Thanks for the honest feedback!
