Love Trader Joe’s but wish they would offer more gluten free products!
I also wish they had certified gluten free products, as many of their supposedly gluten free items are made on shared lines, making them not Celiac safe 🙁
I would shop at TJ three times a week if there were one close by. Love their unique products, great customer service, and reasonable prices. Thanks for posting these new fun products Hip2Save 🙂
You’re welcome, Bunny!
The Ruby Cacao wafers are 👌👌👌 So is the balsamic fig dressing!
They have the dried sweetened Hibiscus Flower for 1.99,soooo cool and taste good.
I agree 😋
I bought the wafer cookie. Its so good! Almost went for the paratha bread and the lime chili chips but I already had too much in my cart.
But be very careful with their return policy. Love there products and their flowers. I purchased 3 pots of orchids. The person putting these new orchids out from their warehouse told me that they just came in and didn’t look as pretty as his other batches. So I decided to get them anyways and asked the manager on the floor for their return policy at the Laguna Hills, Ca location. She stated that the policy is normally a year, but she will not accept returns if the purchase is more than 2 weeks on dead plants/flowers. So I tried to confirm with her if this was a TJ’s policy or is it this location only. She wouldn’t response, but walked away. I have found the other locations such as Irvine, Ca is better and honest.
Trader Joe’s has the best return policy ever so I think your location is not being honest. I would call corporate.
So basically it sounds like you’re warning us of this one particular store that may or may not have a different return policy than corporate?? I wish people would be more careful about bagging on an entire company when they had a bad experience at ONE store. I have been shopping at and returning items to Trader Joe’s for over 20 years and I have never ever had anything but an excellent experience when returning something.
What does the mushroom seasoning taste like? I really want to try it because of how healthy they are for you, but can’t even imagine the taste. Lol!
I imagine that to be a similar taste to Japanese seasoning called “dashi”… but not sure…
Dashi is typically made with kelp and anchovies. This seasoning is probably earthier and meaty.
About the product
Trader Joe’s Mushroom & Company Multipurpose UMAMI Seasoning Blend
Natural ingredients prized for their own umami-rich flavor including Kosher salt, dried onions & thyme
Porcini mushroom powder and a custom blend of seasonings
Add extra richness to soups or stews
I was curious about it too. This is what I found out about it on Amazon. Not a big fan of thyme though.
I bet this would be great in vegetarian dishes that traditionally have a meaty component. I’m going to try it in my veg French onion soup. It’s not bad as is, but does lack some of the depth of flavor since it omits the beef broth.
I am thinking it would be great for adding dimension to ramen or even a stir fry sauce.
I found it to be very salty. I returned it. It reminded of msg.
Also remember- TJ’s takes coupons!
What coupons? They have all their own products.
They will accept coupons for the name brand items they sell. In the past, I’ve been able to use coupons there for Larabars and Tom’s toothpaste.
I don’t like the new candle smell.
Does shelf stable mean the dressing don’t need to be refrigerated? If so, that is a bonus!
Agree, in my opinion the candle smell reminds me of a dollar tree Vanilla candle. Too bad for me (I realize that liking it not liking candle scents is super subjective) because I really liked the honey crisp apple one in the fall and the balsam one in the winter.
On another note the rose oil hand creme is so good, lightly fragranced and very moisturizing.
I tried the dark chocolate sunflower butter cups and they are good! Would definitely buy again.
The paratha…TO DIE FOR!
I always wonder about new products, thanks to everyone for letting me know if the items are worth trying!!! I’ll put it in my list of places for next week to check everything out!!
The rose dressing is delicious. The fig is also good and only 60 calories for 2 tbsp.
The Balsamic and Fig dressing is amazing!!!! So delicious!
Thank you Hip2Save!! I absolutely LOVE Trader Joe’s and shop there at least once per week! Hip2Save, can you make this type of post a regular thing when Trader Joe’s puts out their new products?
You are SO welcome! Thanks for the request! Yes! We will be doing these seasonally!
Malabari Paratha is back at TJ’s, I missed this product last few years, glad its back. I stocked my freezer 🙂 Love TJ’s
Love the maple leaf cookies, omg so addictive. And the lime frozen pops. Oooooeeee.
I did not like the sunflower cups.
The croissant bread is phenomenal. Just don’t look at the label on the back lol
It’s perfect just lightly toasted and would probably make for delicious french toast too.
The cauliflower gnocchi is amazing as well as the cauliflower pizza crust!
Can somebody help me with what the sign for the Ruby Cacao wafers says?? The handwriting is terrible and all I could decipher is something like “…rose-colored chocolate, smooth and creamy texture with a …. flavor. Great for melting!” 🤷🏻♀️ curious what these wafers are, are they like candy melts?
Fruity flavor. You can eat them like chocolate chips or they recommend to melt and dip some pretzel sticks.
Not a fan of the Cinnamon Croissant loaf or the Chili & Lime Flavored Rolled Corn Tortilla Chips. My sister recommended the Croissant Loaf, but I’m wondering where the dang cinnamon is (to be fair, only Panera’s cinnamon crunch bagel meets my cinnamon expectations).
The Chili & Lime aren’t bad, but not the flavoring I enjoy. Good crunch to them though.
While I was in TJ’s today, they also just got a new Organic Chunky salsa medium heat for $2.99 (and it arrived today!). It unfortunately had a vinegar taste to it (was an ingredient) & too chunky for my liking. I’ll stick to guzzling down the Hatch Chili Salsa for now.
Bring back Partially-Popped popcorn! So good, and so bad for your teeth, I love it!
I love TJ and mainly shop there, but all their yummy cakes n muffins, etc. in their baked goods section, it’s all so rich and gooey looking but watch out if you’re watching your cholesterol! Yikes! I always pick up a package, read the label and have to put it back down, unfortunately. I think having more vegan options in this regard would be more helpful.
The Malabari Parathas sold at Trader Joe’s are basically the same thing as Malaysian-style parathas, which you can find for much cheaper year-round in the frozen section of your local Indian/Pakistani grocery store.
