Puddle Jumpers are by far the best flotation devices around. We’ve tried life vests, arm floaties, inner tubes, etc. The kids love the Puddle Jumpers best!

Puddle Jumpers all the way!!!! So wish I had gotten them earlier. My twin boys did so well swimming in these and this summer we are going to just the arm flotation since they just finished their first swim lessons. They just turned 4.

We love our Puddle Jumper!! My daughter is a small 6-year-old and this works perfect for her. We use it for the boat every summer on the lake.

Due to the fact that they are coast guard approved, we use Puddle Jumpers on our boat for our petite 4-year-old twins. They have the option of using a life jacket with the under buckle and MUCH prefer the Puddle Jumper for the ease of movement.

I have bought tons of flotation devices and Puddle Jumpers are the only ones that actually work!

Thank you! Just ordered for my 5 year old. My oldest had one of these and it worked great! Plus, since it is coast guard approved, it can be used used at Hurricane Harbor.

You’re very welcome Candace! Glad to hear it worked well with your older kiddo! We’ve loved ours too! 🙂

  2. Linds

I’ve needed one of these! Thanks so much!

You’re welcome Linds! Glad you were able to snag one! 🙂

I love these! Got them for my 3 & 4 year olds for Christmas and they’re so much more confident in the water. They are amazing

Please, please don’t slow your children to use these. They trick kids into thinking they can swim. My 3 year old nephew drowned last June; he snuck away during a non swim time and was in the water less than 30 seconds. My sister has partnered with the AAP to promote drowning awareness and one step is awareness of the false security of puddle jumpers. Drowning is the #1 cause of death for kids ages 1-5. Take this seriously and do not allow your child to use one of these.

      Dear Melissa:
I am SOOO sorry for your loss. It is unimaginable. Praying for you and your family.

I am so sorry for your loss. Our child’s swim instructor told us the same thing. Don’t use flotation devices because they create a false security of the child’s abilities in the water. We were advised to only use these devices for safety reasons—on a boat and things, where falling into water is a risk, so ideally, they would never actually be used in water.

I agree I used to be a lifeguard and swim teacher and we never allowed kids to wear these in the water. They think they can swim but if it falls off they are in trouble and parents not watching as close. I’m sorry about your loss—I can’t imagine

I am so sorry for your loss. I totally agree, I used these and now my kids ages 6&8 can not swim and don’t want to try! I didn’t use this for my teen when he was younger and he learned how to swim much sooner and is a strong swimmer now. If you use the inflatable rings or floaties I think that helps them to learn more on their own.

Be careful with the ones on amazon. Reviews on some of them say they are knock-offs. I misplaced ours and spent the day reading reviews trying to find a good deal on some for my twins. They’re a life saver for a mama of twin toddlers as I have to hold them both in the pool at the same time. I don’t see how they’ll fit a kid past age 3, weight limit is 50lbs, so keep that in mind mamas.

    • Denise

My 4 year old son is almost 60 pounds and can use his just fine. He is a big guy! Taking swimming lessons so that he won’t need it anymore as he won’t be able to wear it forever! 🙂

    • Shelly

My daughter is 7 and is right at 50 lbs. So they definitely are useable past the age of 3. LOL

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

I’m so sorry to hear about your family’s loss, Melissa. ❤️

    • Erin

Depends on the size of the kid… My daughter is 8 and can still use it. She’s not a strong swimmer, but can swim with out it, Because of a water scare (not on my watch, I adopted her) when she was younger, she still likes the extra security unless swimming right next to me.
We’ve been using for years, totally recommend!

Yay, I was actually looking for a new one for my son. His other one is almost 3 years old now, and I noticed a hole in it.
