Do you have to have an actual doorbell to use this ?
You do not! We had one on our old house and had no existing doorbell at all, Donnarn67!
You do not have to have an old doorbell. However if you don’t then about once a week you have to take it down and charge it. If you do have an old doorbell you can use those old wires and hardwire it and never have to charge it. That’s the way I have mine done. Works great. Plus mine starts recording based on the motion first before they ever ring it.
