Amazon Now Offering FREE 2-Hour Grocery Delivery
There’s a new benefit for Amazon Prime members! 🎉
Amazon just announced in a blog post that it’s now including fast and FREE grocery delivery from Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods Market as a benefit of your Amazon Prime membership.
Prime members can now order tens of thousands of grocery items online, including meat, seafood, produce, snacks and household essentials, and have these products delivered to their door in under two hours for free (depending on the city).
Previously, Prime members had to pay an additional $14.99 per month for this service, on top of the cost of their Prime membership.
“Prime members love the convenience of free grocery delivery on Amazon, which is why we’ve made Amazon Fresh a free benefit of Prime, saving customers $14.99 per month,” said Stephenie Landry, VP of Grocery Delivery. “Grocery delivery is one of the fastest growing businesses at Amazon, and we think this will be one of the most-loved Prime benefits.”
Unfortunately, this Prime perk isn’t available in all locations. Even in cities where grocery delivery is available, this benefit is currently by invitation only. Prime members who have already been using grocery delivery services can continue to do so, but all other Prime members who live in one of the areas where grocery delivery is available must request an invitation to make use of this benefit.
According to the company, fresh grocery delivery from Amazon is now available in “more than 2,000 cities and towns.” Amazon promises to keep expanding its grocery delivery and pickup services to more areas in the future.

I’ve been using this benefit in Chicago for months. It’s amazing and easy to meet the $35 threshold minimum for Whole Foods. Never logged on and not had a 2-hour window available same day for me. We typically order the meat on sale at deep prime member discounts at Whole Foods and meal plan around that. The only negative is there is quite a bit of packaging that comes with refrigerated items.
Tell more about these deep meat discounts? I’m also in Chicagoland area.
I don’t get it. I had this perk before with Now app thru Amazon…is it now I can just use Amazon app and it’s free again lol
I know that many people dislike going/can’t get to the grocery store, so I can see the benefit of this service! That said I personally enjoy going to the grocery store. I prefer to pick out my own items, especially meats and produce. Also grocery shopping is the one thing I can reliably do each week without my kids! 😊
Is this different than Amazon PrimeNow delivery with Whole Foods? I know Amazon Fresh was “separate” but I wasn’t clear on where they shop from, if not Whole Foods ….
It’s supposedly available in “more than 2,000 cities and towns” yet the state capital of Louisiana isn’t one of them. It isn’t in any major city in Louisiana.
I wacky enough to be a beta tester when the whole Amazon Fresh first came out. Apparently, it wasn’t a hit in my area and once the test was complete, I no longer had the service.
I LOVED it and found that the items were actually better than what my local grocery delivery service offered.
I soooo wish they’d release this in a more broad location range. I’d buy groceries from there again all day, every day.
Until then, I patiently/impatiently wait
*was lucky*.
Although I am wacky. 🤣🤣🤣
Here’s hoping that they won’t increase the price of AMMY Prime again…
