Hip readers love their AARP membership benefits!

I love this membership for the AARP rewards for watching videos. Every month, I select three $5 gift cards. I made back the cost of a membership in my first month.

My favorite AARP discount is saving $40/year on my Walmart+ membership!

We signed up a few months ago too! You can buy gift cards at a discount on their website… we were specifically interested in the discounted Carnival cards! 🤗

On the first Tuesday of each month, Walgreens offers 20% off any non-sale item. It’s available to seniors and anyone holding an AARP membership. I’ve been able to combine this 20% off with the dollar value coupons (for example, the $7 off $25).

What is the Walmart+ benefit with the AARP?

    • Trish (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Connie! You can save $40 every year on a Walmart+ annual membership! ❤️

      • Lynn

How do you get the $40 savings. I asked Walmart how to get it & they told me they don’t partner with AARP. I’d love to get this discount but don’t know how! Help!

        • Trish (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Lynn! You can find this offer by logging into your AARP account! Hope this helps.

Thank you. I was finally able to find it. I chatted with Walmart & was told by 2 different reps that Walmart doesn’t offer any discount & that AARP isn’t one of their “partners”. I referred them to the page showing the $40 discount & they said that’s only for people on federal assistance programs. It seems that they have not been informed about this discount. I was hoping I could “convert” my current Walmart+ membership to this new rate, but it looks like the best I can do is get the lower rate at the next renewal. Unless I can find a Walmart agent that’s familiar with the AARP discount & might be nice & convert for me! Thanks for the info – this is a huge savings!!

You’re welcome, Lynn! Thanks for the update! So frustrating that the Walmart reps weren’t able to help with converting your current membership to the discounted rate. You might try reaching out to AARP to see if one of their reps can help further with this. They might at least have some insight on how you could score the savings now instead of waiting until renewal. 🤞❤️ Wishing you the best of luck!
