This automated pet feeder works really well for our cat. We like to go on quick weekend getaways or overnights to our cabin, and this feeder allows us to keep her on her routine without having to get our friends or neighbors to go check in on her at their leisure. The ice ring helps keep things fresh, but on multiple attempts only stays frozen for about the first 8-12 hours depending on the ambient temp in the house. It will stay “cool” for a bit after that but not cold. I would not want to count on this for any food that needs to be temperature controlled to be considered fresh for more than an overnight or two away from your pet.
