Just empty it into a good-sized bowl and pour in a cup or two of boiling water, then stir, and you’ve got a great side dish to go with whatever else is ready to eat. I used two packs of these potatoes per three Hormel Compleats Turkey & Stuffing plus a can of cranberry jelly to have a no-cleanup Thanksgiving dinner last fall, and it was a hit.
You can also add a slice or two of Kraft Singles cheese (or generic equivalent) before you pour the water; they’ll melt completely into the mix and make it even more tasty.
This is the first time I have purchased instant potatoes. My expectations were low and I was very surprised how good they came out. If you fed them to your friends or family, I doubt they would distinguish them from real potatoes.
The consistency was a bit thicker than I like so I simply added a bit more milk. Also, when I heated up the leftovers I put them in a pan, added a little more mile, and whisked on medium heat for a minute or two. Good stuff!!
