I have learned to follow the age recommendations on toys. My 2 yr old great-grandson spends hours in creative play with this train set and his cocomelion playhouse. The engine will also run on a smooth floor. He sings the song with it. I have other train sets also, but they r for 3-4 years and up. Right now he likes this one best. Good quality (he does let the engine travel off his play table to the floor). The engine fits in his hand well. As an adult sitting in the same room, I wish it played more than one song!
I purchased this train set for my four-year-old and two-year-old great-grandkids as they love the Cocomelon shows. They fell in love with the train and we found out the train would run on the carpet as well. Great toy!!
