The Coleman One Source camping system is a very innovative approach to a rechargeable battery system to use across multiple products while camping. Everyone has smartphones and other electronic devices, and it’s important to be able to keep your devices charged while out in the middle of nowhere without access to a power outlet.
The flashlight is very bright (with 2 brightness levels), can run for a decent amount of time on a charge, and can also charge your cell phone to boot. The flashlight charges via a standard USB (i.e., USB A) to a USB C charging cable which is included – the USB C end plugs into the flashlight. The port to charge your devices is a USB A port and it also has a convenient LED light to show you the level of charge the battery has left.
$60 is a bit pricey for a flashlight (even with a built-in charging capability), but the value-add here is its ability to cross-utilize Coleman’s quick-charging rechargeable batteries across multiple camping essentials that Coleman also sells – like the tent, fan, air pump, and lantern.
Works FANTASTIC and holds a charge for a long time! Bought everyone in the family one! We love it because it saves us a lot of money. We were buying 3V batteries for our other flashlights all the time. Once we found this one, we rarely even have to charge it.
We use it nightly because we have to watch for rattlesnakes when we take our dogs out at night. It also has two modes for how bright you want it to be. The brightest mode lights up the place and you can see very well! LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this flashlight!
